My sister-in-law stayed at The Terrace at Beverly Lake for 2 months and 6 days. It was a nice building, the people were all friendly, and we had no problem with them. Her room was fine, too. They got a lot of activities going on the whole time, which was good. There were music, arts, and movies with popcorn. They also did art paperwork, painting, and singing. They seemed to have several activities during the day all the time. The nurses and the director were very good and very nice.

I toured The Terrace at Beverly Lake. It's not a big place. The location is good. The people that I interacted with seemed to be a little bit in a hurry. They weren't unfriendly at all, but it didn't feel welcoming. They have companion suites and private suites. I went to the dining area, and that's fairly decent. They have a place for residents to go outside. It's secured. They can go out and enjoy themselves without being in danger. There are windows off the dining area where you can see the area. They have a beauty barber shop on site. They have three meals a day and care staff 24/7. They provided a pretty nice brochure. They've got a weekly menu and daily activities, which is pretty nice, and pretty full. Compared to other places, the design aspect and artwork are not quite as impressive.

The Terrace At Beverly Lake is a wonderful community. I have seen the facilities in the area and all over, nothing compares to this place. The staff and management is easy to work with and incredible at what they do, I feel so relieved that my mom is getting the care she needs. I have never met so many genuinely kind people in my life. The rooms are very large, we were able to make hers feel just like home. The food is spectacular, the chefs are so creative & make most everything from scratch which is extremely unheard of. The activities are specially modified for those with memory loss, they have a whole activity department rather than caregivers initiating them which is amazing. They go on outings, have family dinners & host so many events that encourage family to come in rather than those places that don't want families involved at all. I love the terrace, I am so thankful there are people that care like they do.

When we first took Dad up to The Terrace at Beverly Lake, they said it was going to be a flat rate, and that there would be no increases, but after they were under new management, they started raising the rent and the care. A lot of the help there is really good, but some of the things have been really frustrating. For example, I took some family pictures up there so my dad had something to look at, and they disappeared right away. They lost his eyeglasses and dentures. It really irritated me. The food wasn't bad. There was a strong urine smell in the place, but they have improved.

It was clean, and the staff were very nice, but The Terrace at Beverly Lake just didn't seem a good fit for my mother. The rooms were pretty small and shared. There was a cafeteria type room. It was pretty apparent when we first got there that it wasn't the right place for us, but it could be perfect for someone else.

Silverado offers two levels of care for patients. Those with advanced dementia are separated from but not segregated from those who's disease hasn't progressed. All intermingle though special activities are offered to those requiring more care. This lends a feeling of freedom to the whole facility. They have RN's or LPN's on duty round the clock. Special care is taken with each person's hygiene and appearance. No personal indignities are suffered by patients. The highest level of care is given to each patient and drugs are carefully monitored so that each patient is functional to the best of their ability. Drugging patients is not an option to responsible care. The facility is spotless, tranquil, and generates an aura of well being.
