My father-in-law ended up in Heritage Court Assisted Living. It's a secure facility, and so far, so good. He's still trying to escape, but we know he's safe, and they have a very caring staff. I think they're doing a great job, with everything I've seen so far. They're patient and they're kind. They're doing a great job, considering that they're dealing primarily with late stage dementia and Alzheimer's patients. His room is small and it's sparse, but that's really all he needs. It's small, clean, and it's good considering his condition. Their dining hall and activity room are one and the same. They have one upstairs and one downstairs. The facility is functional, bright, and upstairs has a lot of light and lots of windows. The activity/dining hall is very bright and airy. It's an older building but they're taking care of it. It's an older building, but they're taking care of it. They have a variety of snacks like fresh-baked cookies, a refrigerator with juice drinks, yogurt, sodas, and such that are available to the residents all the time. The day that I toured, they had about half a dozen residents doing coloring. They have activities and their activities are appropriate for their population. He's on Medicaid. He's getting basic care, so I'd say it's good value.

I went to Heritage Court. All the clients seemed like they were healthy and reasonably happy. The facility itself was very rundown, hot, and smelled like pee. I left with a distinct impression that this is where the people who don't have any money go. The staff members I met were very nice and appeared to be very competent. However, it's in a very busy part of Everett. The rooms were small. No air conditioning. It was a bare bones-type place. I kind of get the feeling that all the people there were very grateful to be there. It was kind of a bottom basement-type place, but all the clients appeared to be in good health, even though not many of them had teeth.

My mom has been in Heritage Court for about two months now, and I think it is a good environment for her. Their activities director left, and they didn’t have one for a little while, but they have hired a new one who has lots of things planned. The food looks really good. I was there for seven days in a row for all the meals, and the food looked good. They have a lobby area, so they can gather a few people around with some chairs, and a dining area where they eat which, if they are not eating, they can use for watching TV and doing other activities. Those are pretty much the two main areas besides their rooms. Her room is very clean, and they help her get out every morning and make her bed. It looks very orderly and in good shape. I think they are very caring people; it is not an easy situation because it is memory care, but I think they handle it very well. They have hired some good people and are looking to hire more. I think they take good care of the people who are there.

My mother is in Heritage Court. It is a memory care and a secured facility. My mom has dementia and it is good for her. The staff is very friendly and nice. Everybody is very helpful. She's very social, so it is a really good community for her. There're quite a few people there and they are well taken care of. Their social interaction is wonderful. They have a person that comes in and does the activities. They do a bit of exercise and things every day. Overall, she's happy since she's been there, and I am happy. I highly recommend it. It is a great place.
