My mother-in-law moved into Sunrise of Edmonds. I either called and talked to somebody or looked at 19 different places and visited nine. This one was not on my original list because it's on the main road. But in the end, it became recommended by someone else that I look there because she needs some assisted care, but not very much assisted care. We went in and checked the place to be appropriate for her, much smaller than the other places we looked at. The staff is very nice. This is the end of her second week, and she's doing pretty well. Everyone's extremely nice and goes out of their way to listen to her. She has a 1-bedroom; a pretty small 1-bedroom. The way the design is, there are no doors on either, so it would be suitable for a wheelchair. She did not have any limitations like that, but she does have it available. It's on the first floor and it has a view out to the gardens, and that was important. They have some other rooms that are more just studios, too. They come around and let people, even like her who's only getting little care, mostly independent, know it's time for breakfast. Starting at about 10 o'clock, they have something all day until about three o'clock. And every morning at 10:00 is the exercise, which is a pretty low-key exercise, and then they have an activity from 10:30-11:30. They have something else from 11:30 to 12, lunches at 12, and then they have two things in the afternoon. They have a sitting area when you first walk in. They have a big TV on and it's got things like the Golden Girls, and a little bit older shows like that, and my mother-in-law will be in there reading the newspaper with someone else around. They do their laundry service, and then they also have housekeeping. I have not tried the food, but my mother-in-law says it is good. She's not much of an eater, but she says it's fine. They're allowed wine at lunch and dinner and all you have to do is ask, so that's a plus. It's an older building. There's no parking outside, but they do have a parking garage that's easy to go right there underneath. It's an older building and that's my only issue. It's also an old lady decoration, not my style. But in your room, you bring your own furniture, and you can decorate it any way you want.

Sunrise of Edmonds was very nice and very clean. I had a very good feeling overall about the place. Wendy was very professional and very thorough in her tour and information about the facility. The studio was nice but small. They only had those available at the time, but they also had one and two bedrooms. They talked a lot about the outings that they take their vans to. They had a lot of field trips. They also had different classes available in-house. So, if people want to take an art class, they could.

I've toured Sunrise of Edmonds and I thought it was the best. It's more expensive than the other places, but if my dad would need assisted living and a higher level of care, it would be that place. I like the layout of the place and the kind of collective feelings of the team, they seemed to be close and concerned about people. The person who showed us around listened well and was very understanding. My dad would have liked it there. When we were being shown around, they would say hello to each other, everyone was very friendly and involved in what they were doing. They have a salon, they do yoga and chair aerobics, and they have social activities as well as physical activities.

Sunrise of Edmonds would be our second choice. It was good because they also have memory care. If my mother-in-law needed it, it would be nice to have that option as well. She has dementia. They had a small kitchenette, and they had a dining area and all that. It was good. The staff was very good. My husband tried the food, and he said it was good. It was very nice, very clean, and really well appointed. It was great.

My dear friend moved in and the situation was nice at first. But the food is often cold, bland and service is terrible. She likes her room and activities. But the cost is so high and good unappealing so she’s looking for another place. Just not worth it.

If i could give Sunrise of Edmonds a 10 star i would! It is amazing how just the little amount of customer service goes such a long way! I am so impressed by the services, the attentiveness, and simply the friendliness of this place! My mother has lived here for a few months now and I can not say enough how grateful i am and how happy she is to be living at Sunrise! so happy!

Sunrise of Edmonds is a great facility. It's very clean and has really nice decor. The apartments were a little on the small side but had nice amenities. They're very highly staffed, and the food looked good. It was a nice facility. I saw a meal, and it smelled good and looked pleasing to the eye. I saw the activity calendar, and they have music programs, walking clubs, and different things. The staff was very interactive of the residents, and there were a lot of staff helping them.

The food at Sunrise of Edmonds has been very good. My mother has swallowing issues and is able to eat their food without any problem. The staff is very loving, kind, and very supportive as they've gone through changes. It's a small two-bedroom apartment that's very clean and nice. They have a minister for my father on Mondays and have music groups come in and outings. Everything is very nice, and it has worked out well.

Sunrise of Edmonds was very much like home. The staff was outstanding. They had good food. The residents had a very nice men's group of intelligent people that create great conversations. It is in a great location, a beautiful facility, and a little smaller than a lot of other places. They had a terrific activities coordinator. The cost is quite a bit higher than the others, and the rooms were just too small.

I was not impressed with Sunrise of Edmonds. They had the dementia patients on the top floor. Their security was great, and the people seemed OK, but my impression of the facility was that it was like a hotel and didn't seem homey to me.

Sunrise was a wonderful facility for both my parents as they neared their end-of-life journey. Yes, it is pricey, but they don't hide this. If you want a less expensive facility, that is your choice. My whole family loved the care-givers, who truly do care for the residents with their hearts. The regularly scheduled entertainment functions are always high quality. The food is very good and varied. The facility is well-maintained. But I truly cannot say enough about the care-giving staff. Their gentle loving care of the residents is awe-inspiring.

Sunrise of Edmonds was very nice, but way too expensive. And it was apartment style again that I would say no to, so this one was pretty much eliminated immediately. Too expensive -- some people with lots of money have to live there. The staff seemed acceptable. The facility was very attractive and elegant. Very nice, but not affordable; the price was way too high. They need to meet the price of some of the other ones around.

We chose Sunrise because they provided what my mother needed. She had help with medication and had all the assistance that she needed. Also, it was a nice facility. It had a very homey feel, well maintained with nice décor. People were friendly. The staff was excellent, well trained, very caring, and superior. They were always very kind, helpful, and very sweet. My mom was in a spacious private room. It was very well appointed, clean, and it met her needs. The food was very good. It was fresh every meal, and people could have what they wanted to eat, and if you didn't like something, they would fix you something else. The dining room had tablecloths, and the people were very polite in taking your orders and very accommodating. They had activities in the morning, like exercises. They had social hour, bingo, card games, painting, music, singing, and they had movies every night. I would definitely recommend them to others. Though my mom passed away last week and was only there for two months, she had very good care, and she got what she needed at that time.

I am actually looking for a place for my parents. I called there yesterday to get the most flippant attitude from their Director of Sales. As I asked questions she told me the care their was terrible and she would not recommend anyone to come there. I was appalled that she would be so disrespectful of my questions. I also asked if they take state pay when a family member runs out of money, she stated "Are you kidding me? No one in Edmond's takes state pay. We are all private. Is there anything else you need?" I told her no and hung up. Needless to say...I will not be even returning for a tour!! Her name is Sylvana if the owners or higher up management want to know. She shoould NOT be working with people, especially those that have been researching and are in crisis!!!

I am sorry to report that fter dealing with this facility for 24 months we will be moving my mother. There is far too much turn over in adminstrators. There is very little follow through on issues. This place has really gone down hill and the owners do not seem to care,.

Aegis is an expensive option for families. For what is charged I would expect a higher ratio of care givers to residents. Many of the caregivers are not very well trained. Many do not communicate very clearly because of English language issues. There is too much turn over with the administrators. Overall while I do not think residents are in danger I am sure that these familie expected a much higher level of care and professionlism from this facility. If you have a friend or family member here visit often to make sure they are being cared for properly. Many administrative/care promises for residents are not followed through. overall very disappointed. If looking at facility ask about residents wandering off premises becasue of unlocked gates. Ask them about thier procedures about taking sick residents to the hopital. Recently one alzheimer patient was advise to take a cab!!!!!
