My aunt is at the memory care unit of Skyline Terrace Nursing Home and Memory Lane Assisted Living. We go to visit her every day, and we can see her in the courtyard or the conference room, and we've had a good experience. The primary director was out because she had broken her foot, so we had to work with some staff that don't normally do intake. So, it was a little disjointed at first, but once they got their ducks aligned, it went pretty well. They don't actually let us see her room because it's COVID, but prior to moving her in, we got to see the room. It was kind of like a hospital room. There's a TV mounted on the wall above the closet, there's a hospital bed, a dresser, a nightstand, and a fairly large walk-in closet that she shares with another resident. There's a wall between the two residents so that they can't just look over at each other, but they are in the same room, essentially. The staff has been great to work with. They're responsive and answer all our questions. We haven't figured out how to get weekly updates from someone there, maybe a primary nurse that takes care of her, so that's something we have to figure out. They just sort of brought her out to us when we asked to visit, but when we're with her alone, she doesn't remember anything. You can't ask her how she's eating or how things are going because she just doesn't remember. I'm sure we'll get into a rhythm with that. We haven't figured out whether we need to start emailing somebody or if there's a particular person we should be calling every week or what, but they have a ton of activities. They have an activities calendar that they send to the house. She has not participated in much of the activities, but they have a lot of activities available.

We think Skyline is very good. Mother is happy there. The staff is excellent. They work with her, and they work with us. They built a brand new, beautiful dementia ward. They have Bingo. Every couple of days they have different activities. They should have a little bit more activities for dementia patients.
