My husband was at the Village at Orchard Ridge. They were very welcoming and they gave him very good care. The PT was really good and we liked everything about it, but my husband didn't like the food. There's always room for improvement, but overall, they were excellent. They had a television and walking paths, and they had a selection of library books. The staff was very nice. They met his needs and they were very gracious about it. They just did the best they could. They were very pleasant and professional. I liked everybody that I met very much.

I looked at The Village at Orchard Ridge. They're very expensive. They only have one dining room and their food doesn't compare to where I live now. Their staff was very nice. It's very well maintained, but it's relatively new. They do not have the old growth that we have around at the facility I am in. They have a pool and a gym.

I toured The Village at Orchard Ridge. It was exceptional. It was very, very good. It was very thorough. The community is beautiful. It offers a lot. The staff was extremely helpful and patient. The process of getting someone in is quite cumbersome, but understandable at the same time. The staff who gave the tour was extremely knowledgeable, very forthright and direct with the information, and very personable and understanding. The apartments were beautiful, well-kept and clean, and most impressively, they were updated. I have not tried their food, but their dining options were impressive, and more than typical. I observed many amenities, including the indoor swimming pool, therapy, and exercise facilities, and gathering facilities such as acraft room, painting room, and a woodshop. There was also a very nice personal care place, such as a hair salon/massage area, as well as dining areas.

I was at The Village At Orchard Ridge from 2016 to 2020. I've been there recently; I've had friends there. They had a really great exercise program and probably some of the best instructors I've seen. Now, of course, COVID hit and changed a lot of things, but I'm talking about prior things. Before that, they had a wonderful concierge, and the people were very informed. They had a gorgeous gift shop there. They had a beautiful pub and a dining area there. It's very, very beautiful there and peaceful. They have a lot of activities. They take people places on the busses. They put on plays, and they do all kinds of things there. They're very energetic. I didn't have any trouble with the staff. They always tried to be helpful. When I left there, the concierge, in particular, was wonderful. As far as the people in the office, they were always willing to help you. They were never negative. Their maintenance people in particular were good, and they knew what they were doing. The other thing that's particularly important, is they're very clean and very hygienic. They're very good about that. They have a therapy place for therapy, which is in a separate building, and they also have skilled care. I've been in a lot of places like that in my life, and that is probably the nicest place I've ever been in. It's a country setting; it's a beautiful setting.

I have chosen The Village at Orchard Ridge. It has a beautiful chapel, it's run by the Lutheran ministries, and it's got a spirituality about it. It's also in a beautiful location, the staff is fantastic, and they have an awful lot of activities. It's a place you go to retire, not a place to die. The rooms they have are more than adequate. We like it is because it's a continuing care place, so you move into independent living and then you graduate to whatever you need. The levels of care are delivered into your independent living place until you need to go to a memory care place. That's the only time you move out of independent living there.

The Village at Orchard Ridge is very nice, and it had amenities that the other places I looked at did not. Their employees are very nice, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's like a half-mile back from the road, so you have to drive half a mile through a nice landscaped road to get to the place. It's like two miles from Winchester Medical Center and five minutes from Walmart. I couldn't begin to list their activities and amenities, there are just too many. They have a full schedule of anything and everything, they have a library that the other places didn't have, and they provide transportation. The price is expensive when you get into it, but when you're going to be there for five years or more, it's comparable.

The Village at Orchard Ridge was a ginormous facility that I felt was too overwhelming for my uncle. It was huge. The rooms were large and everything about it was big. The staff seemed terrific. It was a beautiful facility, but it was just way more than my uncle needed.

The Village at Orchard Ridge was very nice with complete service. They provide 3 meals a day and you have your own apartment. They do your laundry and the cleaning. They take care of the place. It was very clean and I was very impressed with it. I met a couple of staff members and they were very good. The dining area was very nice and looked very professional.

Orchard Ridge is top of the notch, and the food is more toward gourmet. They give people a choice of food ahead of time. However, it was expensive.

The Village at Orchard Ridge is very lovely and not far from the town of Winchester, which is a very nice town with a junior college in it. It has a theater and activities and would be a great place to retire if you had children in that area, but it brings us an hour and a half further from either of our children. Although it was far away, it was lovely. The staff members were wonderful. We had lunch there, and residents seemed to like the place very much. The consensus was that it was a very good place to live.

I believed Orchard Ridge was independent living, but it had assisted facilities as needed. It was a high class or a high level place. I believe there were recreational activities, like the usual game rooms. It was a good facility, but the expenses involved were quite high.

Orchard Ridge opened in 2013, is very nice, and focuses on care in the apartment or detached home you purchase there. They also have a nursing home which they project will be certified for Medicaid in about a year and a half.

The Village at Orchard Ridge would have been a wonderful place for my parents. There were independent living cottages and assisted living in the main building. It was very beautiful. The staff was very helpful. The program sounds wonderful as well. There were quite a bit of potential activities because my father would have been very interested in quite a number of things, like chess or plants.

The Village at Orchard Ridge is fairly new and it definitely would be a wonderful place. They have a lot of apartments and health care providers can come in and provide care. It is not for the average person because we're talking about a lot of money and you buy into it initially. They still had apartments in June but they were 95% sold out.
