Spring Arbor of Williamsburg was very clean and very accommodating. The staff were very nice. My mother-in-law stayed there off and on. It was like a respite program. They welcomed her back whenever she returned after being out for a while. They remembered her. I liked that place. There didn't seem to be as much of a turnover there as much as at the other place. My mother-in-law was very happy with the activities and the food and everything else. She never complained about any of it. They painted and colored, and they had puzzles. It's a beautiful place. As far as the respite, the value for money was great. The only thing that I would have found missing was places to walk. That would be the only downside to them.

In order to better understand what our Alzheimer's and related dementia residents experience in trying to overcome the challenges of everyday tasks, all of our dementia care "Cottage Care" associates go through this specialized training. By participating in this program, our memory caregivers have various senses artificially impaired and then try to accomplish simple daily activities. The result is an understanding, on a deep and meaningful level, of the difficulty many assisted living memory care residents experience every day.
Memory caregivers wear special eye-wear to simulate impaired vision, have obstructions in their ability to touch, feel and manipulate objects with their hands, and have their hearing obscured to simulate the many barriers that memory care residents face every day.
The insights gained from this training equip our caregivers to care for our residents with all of the dignity and respect they deserve. This also allows caregivers to understand better ways to communicate with our residents suffering from Alzheimer's and related dementia to assist with the activities of daily living.
By walking a mile in our residents shoes, the caregivers of Spring Arbor have a dedication and commitment to quality care that is unequaled.

I went to Spring Arbor of Williamsburg before the pandemic. The experience was great, and the facility was great. You can have dogs there, but you have to take them outside to walk them. They have screened-in porches, and a little backyard for all of them, which is perfect since my mom has a dog. They have a calendar of activities and a big game room.

Our tour at Spring Arbor of Williamsburg was terrific. I like the place very much. I like the rooms, and I really like the dining room. It is bright, cheerful and pretty. Everybody seems very friendly and happy there. In fact, we are taking my mom and stepdad back to see it for themselves. Everybody is very efficient in doing what they needed to do. The one who did the tour was excellent. You could tell she enjoys working there.

I think Spring Arbor is the best one. As far as the look, it was very clean, very nice to look at, and well-kept. It looked like a well-maintained place. The way they took care of things, their technology involved with care, and how they had that set up, I thought it was good as well. That's why I picked them.

My wife is in Spring Arbor. I liked it better; it’s very suitable. Her accommodations are nice. The memory care unit was just built last year. Everything is new. The fixtures are new, repainted, nice furnishings. It’s not at all dark and dreary. I found the staff very satisfactory. They have activities, and whether she participates or not is of her choosing. I stay for dinner every night for her; I would say the food is satisfactory.

I thought Spring Arbor was a very nice facility. I thought it was a lovely place. It was very well taken care of as far as I can tell. Their staff was nice. For some people I've seen there, it would be a good place for them. However, my mom has dementia and they don't admit dementia patients right now.
