The staff of Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg is very compassionate. They go out of their way to take care of my sister-in-law, and she likes them. They know her personality, and they know how to deal with her condition. She is in memory care and they definitely show her the compassion and the help that she needs. On the business part, it kind of took a while to get everything straight, but they've been very accommodating when we asked for extra papers, or when we needed to see them personally. The facility is closed and it's definitely clean. We can see that they make sure that it's clean and we have been there on different days and on the weekend, so they really don't know when we're coming. It's very modern and up-to-date although we had to buy everything for her room. We have enjoyed her stay and if we could, we would like for her to stay there longer but they don't take Medicaid. We have been there when she has food. She doesn't eat that much and it's not home cooking or anything, but I would say the food is fair and it looks good. They are on the second floor and they have activities there that we have seen my sister-in-law participate in when she wants to. They definitely try different things, especially on the holidays. I think a negative part is that they don't take the residents out of the community. I don't know whether they have a van or a bus, but as far as I know, they do not take them out. They do have a wonderful garden or a spring area where they can go out, sit, and enjoy the sunshine. I think that would be my only negative. I would want her to get out in the community, maybe just to walk or to do different things. When we go there and visit, we take her out in the community to lunch or dinner. Overall, I'm just sorry that she cannot stay there because they know her, they know us, and they're very respectful.

What I like best about Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg is its multicultural diversity with the residents and how they highlight the residents and their past experiences. For example, they have a wall of retired military officers. They were very helpful, very respectful, and extremely professional. They are a clean building. However, I didn't care for the setup of the room. The layout of the rooms that we were taken into didn't have as much sunlight. The atmosphere, though, when we walked in was that they were very welcoming.

My mom has moved into Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. It has been good. I think the staff have been excellent, especially Emily, the one who is in charge of people coming when you're interviewing and being shown the place. Several of the aides are great. The problem with it, though, is that they don't get to help my mom that often. My mom is on a diuretic because she has congestive heart failure, so she has to get up and go to the bathroom a lot. I guess the frequency of the times that they check on her would be the downside, but the people are great. The food is rated very highly. I haven't tasted any of the food, but my mom says it's good. I saw other guests had done some activities, and it looked like everybody was doing well. But because my mom broke her back, she hasn't been able to do as many of the activities right now. The people that are there love the activities though. The rooms are perfectly adequate. The dining hall is very nice. They have some other rooms that the guests can use, and they have a beautiful courtyard in the middle. So I'd say the amenities are very good. They're very friendly staff. But with my mother's needs, she just needs someone that's there more often. They don't seem to have as many people on the floor at any given time to get to people as quickly as they would like.

I toured Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. The staff was very personable. The facility was extremely clean. The room that I saw was a decent size. It wasn't the biggest room but it would accomplish its purpose. Everything was all inclusive. You name it, they had it. They had activities, home care, they would clean the room, and they would provide three meals a day. It was located near Busch Gardens where there are a lot of shopping areas around it. The dining area was restaurant style, very formal, and very nice.

My friend moved into Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. They were wonderful. We chose it because of the care displayed by all of the staff. They were warm and inviting. They went out of their way to help us make that transition and get information that we were having trouble getting. They brought paperwork out to my house. They went and picked up paperwork from the physician's office. They were just very, very accommodating. The room is just the right size for him. He could get all of his furniture in there. I like the staff's philosophy of how to keep the resident engaged with the rest of the residents. They paired him up with another veteran so that they would have something in common to talk about. But their philosophy is to keep them busy during the day on a regular schedule so that by the end of the evening, they're tired, they go to bed, and they go to sleep. When we were still trying to decide which facility to choose, they fed us lunch and it was lovely. It tasted good. They have a very organized daily schedule. They have breakfast, then they do an activity, then they have a snack, and then another activity, then lunch, and then another activity. They bring in people. They go on field trips. They do crafts. They were interested in what my friend was interested in so they could try to incorporate that into their activities. I like the way the facility was set up. The building is in a square and the courtyard is in the center of that square so that they can go out and sit in the sun but there's no chance that they're going to go anywhere. My friend's room is lovely. He looks out on the courtyard and it's on the second floor. They were right in line with everybody else as far as pricing, but they did not cover cable where others do.

We had an in-person tour of Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. They covered all the places that my brother had questions about. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. The chef prepared a meal for us to take, and my mother said it was very good. Everything was very clean and arranged as it should be. They had a courtyard, a salon, a library, and everything my mom needed.

We toured Charter Senior Living of Williamsburg. The tour went extremely well. It was clean and everything looked nice. They took me all over the whole place. The rooms looked like they would be fine for what I was looking for. The staff was very helpful, they answered all my questions, and they seemed very knowledgeable. They sent us a home-cooked meal, and it was delicious. The place looked great.

It has been fantastic about everything. I know she plays bingo and I know they have different activities as far as making things craft-wise. I also know that they have different groups come in all the time, like singers and piano players. The chef also involves the residents with cooking. Mom is so happy living in the facility and also, the residents are allowed to have their own pets.

Dad is here now. We've been there since December. It was recommended by a number of people who are in this community who are actually living there now. They're very professional. It is a pleasant experience. Everything they went through with us. I've had no issues so far. It's like a studio apartment. It has a bathroom and two closets. It has enough to put a little sitting area and enough for his bed. He has a TV and dressers. He has outdoor to go to the patio. It's pretty nice. We eat dinner with him once a week. I'm a chef, so the food is not like culinary, top of the line, but for the care that he gets, the food is comparable to most facilities. They have a lot of activities, but I only get down there a couple of days a week, so we're usually just visiting. Most of the time, he's in the room, or we wait until he comes back. I like the available staff there, the staff's courteousness, politeness. Any time he has an issue, they give us a weekly update on how he's doing. Anything that goes wrong with him, they'll be able to call.

It was very, very nice. I got a nice tour from a young man and he showed me the area. He was excellent. All in all, I have a very good experience there.

It was very, very nice. I had no complaints at all. They provide lots of things that elderly people need. It's open, they have a beautiful courtyard in the center where people can go out or sit at their windows and doors and watch birds. They have plants and things that are conducive to attract the birds. The food they serve is wonderful. The rooms are clean and it didn't have a nursing home smell. It was very nice.
