My mother has moved into The Waterford at Virginia Beach. The community is nice. Everybody's friendly, and the staff made the transition here very easy. Everything has been smooth. She said the food tastes OK. They do a lot of stuff in the community. They have a library, a reading room, a movie room, and a nice cafeteria and they get waited on and they have choices on the menu. The value is great, but I think it's really expensive. It's an awesome place if you can afford it.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach was very clean and very well run. It was a very informative discussion, thorough and prompt. The staff during the tour has been in the business for over 30 years, so she knows her stuff. She was very helpful. The rooms were clean and adequate in size. I checked the dining area, but I was not able to try the food. It's a large open room and very inviting.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach and we got the opportunity to speak with the individuals and they were very nice. Susan came and we introduced ourselves. We were looking for an evaluation and assessment of what my husband needs and they gave us a tour. They had all the accommodations, dining room, and movie. We went to the room that my husband would possibly have been in. It was nice, he had a balcony and even a patio. The place is clean and it was enough for him to be able to get in there with a wheelchair. The staff is knowledgeable.

I like the price at The Waterford at Virginia Beach. The staff followed up, and I liked the follow-up and checking back. It was very nice and everything. However, the staff wasn't as interactive as all the others. She told you what they had, and that was it. She wasn't as personable as the others. She was nice, but it was just, 'This is what we have. Take it or leave it' type thing. She wasn't the marketing salesperson type of person. She was just a matter-of-fact type of person. The apartment was okay. We only saw a model because they didn't have an opening, but it looked nice. The place was okay, but it wasn't outstanding.

We had a good tour experience at The Waterford at Virginia Beach. The staff was able to answer all our questions. They were considerate and helpful. The facilities were good, but they did not have the amenities that the other places had. We would have to bring our own shower seat and other furniture. I saw the dining area, and it was nice. There were some residents playing cards in the common area while we were there.

We toured The Waterford at Virginia Beach. We only got to talk with the salesperson and the activities director, but they did a phenomenal job. The salesperson spent a lot of time with us. The facility itself was fantastic. They had different room sizes. They had individual rooms, and they also had rooms if you wanted to have a roommate. Of course, the roommate one would be cheaper. They had rooms that had a door to a courtyard so that people could just go right out into the courtyard without having to go out in the hallway. The upkeep of the facility was good. The dining area was large, and they had a lot of residents going in and out at different times of the day. It was almost like a small restaurant-type dining area. The grounds were gorgeous and well-maintained. I saw a couple of different courtyards because I got to see the courtyard for the memory care side, too. They had a library, too. It was a very nice facility.

I went to The Waterford at Virginia Beach. The residents looked happy. It was clean. I thought it was very nice. The staff member was very nice. She didn't rush me over time. She answered my questions. The rooms seemed nice. The facility looked well kept. The dining area looked nice, too. I believe they had a salon.

I did a tour of The Waterford at Virginia Beach. It felt too much like a hospital, so much like a nursing home. He wouldn't have been happy with anything feeling like a nursing home. What I liked best about it is the dining area, where they would seat the residents and serve them. It was like being in a little restaurant. I thought that was very nice for the residents. What I liked least about it is, it just didn't feel like a home setting to me. It felt more like being away, in a nursing home. It just didn't feel like home, and my dad wouldn't have enjoyed that. It was clean, and I know that what they offered was more helpful because they offered meals, laundry service, and things of that nature. So, they offered more assistance because it's assisted living, and I get that. But it just didn't feel like a home to me. They do have a courtyard garden where the residents would go out and sit out. I thought that was nice. The staff was okay, they were helpful.

I like The Waterford at Virginia Beach. It was just location when it came down to picking a place and it's just the other place was a little closer for myself and my brothers. But it came in a strong second and only because of location. It looked inviting. When you walked up, they had security. It also looked like it had been freshly painted and renovated. And I like the options and I like the rooms that they have. They're handicapped accessible, so it made it easy to maneuver around the room if you had a wheelchair. They had rooms that were available with a kitchenette, a sink, a microwave, and a refrigerator, and I like that idea. We also were looking for something that had a bathroom in the room, and they had those available as well. The person that was supposed to take me on the tour was not there, and that was a little hiccup because the person that ended up doing it wasn't prepared for me. But she quickly recovered and showed me around. So that was an initial little hiccup when we got there, but she was knowledgeable enough to take me on the tour. I saw the menu that they offered, and from looking at the menu and the things that are available, they looked good. The layout was nice. It was clean. They had a courtyard.

I toured The Waterford at Virginia Beach. It was really dark. You could tell that it was an older facility. They didn't have a lot of lights on. It was very dim, and it wasn't welcoming like the other place when we walked in. The people at the front were fine, but we had to sign a lot of paperwork to get in, which I didn't enjoy. The person who assisted us was nice. However, it seemed like this was a shorter tour because she had other obligations. It was a little rushed. For the most part, she was able to answer our questions fine. It just was a rushed visit. The food seemed fine based on what they showed on the menu. The dining area wasn't very welcoming compared to other places. It wasn't bright. It was in a separate room. I didn't like that because in the other homes we looked at, everything was very open. They had to go to a specific kitchen to eat, and I didn't really like that. I like that they allow their seniors to go to different places outside the facility. They do field trips, which I enjoy. But when we had walked in, it just seemed like a lot of the seniors were either in bed sleeping or watching TV. My family didn't enjoy that because it didn't seem like they were doing anything that was stimulating. The facility probably needs to be updated a little bit. They probably would be a little bit more organized. At that time when we were there, it seemed like a lot of people's dirty clothes were outside, and I didn't like that either.

We went to The Waterford at Virginia Beach. The staff during the tour was very pleasant, and very knowledgeable, and took her time to give us all the information that we needed and also the answers to all of our questions. The dining area seemed almost like a restaurant-style setup, which I found very pleasing. They could've done better with the upkeep in certain areas. I noticed there were spiderwebs. They could do better with the housekeeping.

My tour at The Waterford at Virginia Beach was a good experience. I like the facility, it was a small, nice environment, and had a good staff. and a good staff there. I walked through and it was clean. They had options as far as the rooms. I saw a 1-bedroom, it was a nice, open room with a kitchenette, and they were nice rooms. Since it was a smaller place, there wasn't a large variety of floor layouts. They had a courtyard, they had an activity center with an activity director. They also said that they take trips outside the facility. There's a small library there as well so people can read if they want.

I recently toured this facility and was very impressed. The Executive Director showed my wife and I the memory care unit and the assisted living unit. She was extremely helpful and informative. The rooms we saw were attractive and clean and the building had been recently updated. The staff we met were all very pleasant and we observed them being very attentive to the residents. I was very impressed with the feeling of home that the facility projected. The dining area was set up much like a restaurant with menus and a nice selection of meals and there were beautiful garden areas where residents could enjoy the outdoors. I especially liked the small shadow boxes with pictures and mementos that were outside of the rooms in memory care so that the residents were reminded of their lives and people and things that were important to them. I felt it was not only helpful for them but also gave them a sense of home. I found it heart warming to see that the Executive Director seemed to know the residents by name and even knew about things they were interested in and spoke to them as we toured. One resident even asked her to walk with her and she took the time to walk her down the hall. All in all a great place and a wonderful tour.

The apartments were spacious and updated. The Executive Director who toured me answered all of my questions and was very friendly. The residents were participating in a singing and dancing activity. They were smiling and enjoying themselves. The dining room was very attractive with the linen tablecloths and the staff was pleasant. The courtyard was beautiful and welcoming.

What I liked about The Waterford at Virginia Beach assisted living was that everything was on the first floor. My daughter said she didn't like it though. She said it didn't look as clean as the other place. I'm blind, I can't see, so I'm going by her word. The ladies who live there were doing their exercise in the hallway and they were very nice. They spoke to me and they seemed happy. I was told that they wash your clothes, cook for you, assist you with bathing if you need that, they give you your medication, and they take you on shopping trips. They had a beauty salon there too. I thought they had a pool when I walked in, but it was a pool next door to them, not theirs. They need to improve on their pricing. If you're old and retired, your money wouldn't go long enough to get in it but you need it.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach was top notch. Everything was superb and clean. The deciding factor would be the price. The staff was nice, informative, and greeted you as you came in. I also saw one of the staff in a corner sleeping. I don't understand why they were that noticeable out in public, sleeping on a chair. That was the only thing that I saw that was kind of funny, but that wouldn't turn me away from going there. The dining area was really nice and clean. Nobody was there at the time. The room was nice, spacious, and may be a good place for someone to go. They were remodeling some of them, which I liked. They were remodeling before they got really bad and before they got really too stained. It's kind of nice to keep them nice, clean, and presentable. I think that was impressive. I was really impressed with the lady who walked me around. She was informative. The staff was really nice, saying hello, and greeting you as you walked around.

If you are looking for a facility that offers zero communication, lacks transparency, and has an incompetent/rude med tech on staff then by all means place your loved one at this facility. Please save your canned response to this review. We met in person with the Executive Director and Business Director to address our concerns February 25, and to date no feedback. We also emailed Regional Director of Operations and have yet to get a response.

What I liked the best about The Waterford at Virginia Beach is that they did not have a care level price. The price they quoted was the price it was going to stay at; so they didn't have another fee on top of the price. What I like least is it is smaller, so there are fewer community areas for the residents. The staff who walked us around was kind, helpful, and professional. They had one activities room, they had a courtyard, a sunroom and then they had one TV viewing room or cinema room.

I toured The Waterford at Virginia Beach. I've only seen a couple, but it seemed clean, and the staff seemed nice. It did not seem many people were out, that was the only thing. It was a little strange, it's 10:30 or so, and there weren't many residents milling around, some kind of quiet that way. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a courtyard. They have snack rooms, a library, and a dining room that's like a restaurant.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach had interactive people there. It was Elvis Presley week there celebrating his life due to that being the week that he had passed. They were having something every day, and basically, it was having lunch catered around like one day was the Hawaiian, and the next day it was going to be something else, so that was kind of neat. It was a little more upscale. The ambiance was a lot better than it was at the other facility. It would be something I would possibly consider. They have like three people waiting to get into the senior care, which is good. The woman that I met with was very knowledgeable. They have two beds in one room; I wasn't very keen on that. They have where my dad could have a private room, and they have like a Jack and Jill bathroom. They have somebody coming and cutting hair, the podiatrist comes in, and they have a doctor that is on site. They have occupational and physical therapy, they have a physical therapy room, they have a workout room, and they have a playroom where they have different activities. They have an outside courtyard. I saw the interaction with the staff and the residents, and I liked what I saw.

My father is at The Waterford at Virginia Beach. They're friendly. The place looks really nice and comfortable. You can sit outside or inside. The staff is really polite and very helpful. I've seen bingo, billiards, chess, and a library. They have on-site activities for the clients. I think they're pretty active during the week. I know he goes to bingo at least once a week. He's got his bingo bucks and it makes him very happy. That's funny because my dad has never played bingo before in his life, so for him to play bingo is really cool. He's so happy when he gets his bingo bucks. He's just tickled pink. He gets to go to an auction and buy what he wants with his bingo bucks. They actually get to go shopping and buy stuff for their rooms. I think that's really cool. I really like that idea. I've never been in the dining area because right now, they don't allow anybody with the client in the dining area. You're not allowed in there, but they give them a menu every day, and he gets to choose what he wants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve him what he orders. I haven't heard any complaints so far or him saying, "They don't give me what I ask for," so I'm pretty sure they're doing right. They've been really good so far. I like it a lot. I think it's safe because of the way it's laid out. It's in a square and they can't exit. The price wasn't bad.

I had the opportunity to visit this location. During my visit I had a wonderful experience, The front desk Administrative Assistant Sharon. She greeted us, she was very polite, and helpful. As she was speaking with us a resident was speaking loudly and heading to the door she quickly intercepted and handle the resident with care. During our visit other staff member were polite and greeted us with a smile. The facility was clean and did not have an odor. The residents appear to be calm and happy. As we visit with my friend relative she appeared to be cleaned, happy and loved the facility, their food and activities. She also stated that the staff was good to her and that was satisfying to me. Based off my experience I would recommend someone to this facility.

My parents moved to The Waterford. With COVID it makes it a little hard because we haven't been able to get in there as much as we'd like to. I think the staff were very nice people. They seemed to be attentive. We're just working things out because my parents are coming at two different levels, so everyone has kinda got on board with this since they were living together. It gets a little confusing at some times when somebody goes in and says to my mother, "Is your husband here?" and she doesn't know he's her husband so she says no. The room is a nice size, it's got a little living room area, a little kitchen area, and a large bedroom, so I think it's nice. I think they like the food. My father's not complaining, so I would assume that means he likes it, 'cause, he would complain if he didn't. At this point they're not allowing visitors because I think one of their staff was sick, so they were on lockdown for a couple of weeks, and now they're not on lockdown anymore, but they are in terms of people coming in, probably until they get the vaccines I would assume. The reason I chose it is because they have a lot of couples and they try to keep them together as long as possible. So even if my mom goes into the next level, which would be memory care, they would allow him to go into that part of the building with her, as long as he is agreeable to being locked in at night. A lot of places won't allow that. My parents don't do activities. I think they have them, but I don't really know about them 'cause they're on lockdown, so there haven't really been any activities, but they do physical therapy.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach was very nice. I liked it, and it smelled good. I talked with a couple of the residents, and they really love it there. I talked to somebody that has been there for 13 years, and she really liked it, and she was all dressed up and very happy. The food was good. The residents were very happy. It's nice and quiet except when they were doing activities. The price was more tolerable and you get a lot for the price as well. They had jacuzzi, outings, you can come and go, and the rooms were very nice and spacious. It's an older building, but they've really taken good care of it. They had a beautiful upstairs terrace, which I really like. They do cooking classes, exercises, and bible study. The courtyard was beautiful. They had courtyard apartments, which I really liked. They could go out of their door and sit in the courtyard. The staff was very nice. It was immaculate and beautiful. I'm gonna go with them because it was more affordable for my uncle.

My father is at The Waterford at Virginia Beach. Everybody is wonderful. The community is nice. The only complaint that I have is the building is large and there are several community rooms, cafe, bistro, and little niches around, but there is no internal directory. It's beautiful. The staff is wonderful and helpful, and if I had questions after hours, they are still available to help me.

There are some parts of The Waterford at Virginia Beach that I'm very happy with, but there are some parts that I'm disappointed in. My mom is a resident. The staff members are always attentive. The cleanliness and the environment are really good. They have activities, but my mom hasn't been interested in participating in anything. They have a beauty shop there, and my mom needs to set an appointment. The food is disappointing, too.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach is fantastic and clean. My husband is in Reflections, which is their locked down or memory care unit. They listen to you. If you have a problem and go to the right people, you can get things fixed. He loves The Waterford. They're caring. They have Christmas parties, cookouts, picnics, and several things scheduled for the people outside the locked-down unit. They have an activities director who does exercises with them. They have puzzles and crafts and people who come in and sing for them and play piano. The food is fantastic. He is a country boy and very picky, and I have never seen him turn a plate down and loves the desserts. There's just not as many activities as I would like, and they are a little expensive.

The Waterford at Virginia Beach was really good and you get what you pay for. It seems very organized, well-kept, and I was impressed with the staff. The residents looked well-kept, and the staff made sure they were kept clean and well-fed. They had healthy balanced meals, and they were very straightforward in saying they had snacks at certain times. Some of the residents can have microwaves. It's topnotch.

I picked The Waterford at Virginia Beach for Dad because I could afford it. It's very nice, it's clean, and they take very good care of the people. He loves the food. He has never played Bingo, and now he's playing Bingo and he will call and tell me he won. It's a wonderful place. He's very content and very happy there. It's a beautiful building. They have a beautiful courtyard where they can enjoy the sun and enjoy the weather. The people are very attentive to everybody. I'm very pleased with his care and very pleased with how they keep it clean. He has a nice sized room. This Saturday they will have a cook-off, and he's making a big pot of spaghetti. It's nice that I could afford for him to be in a decent place with a doctor right there. It's very clean, the food is wonderful, and there's still money left over. He hasn't been there very long and the staff already knows who he is. He's having a really good experience there. They have a daily meal and a menu that you can order off of. There are all kinds of food, fruits, and desserts. People roam the halls, they're in good spirits, and even in they're in wheelchairs, they have activities that they can do.

I really love and appreciate the staff! My mother has been here for almost two years and the medical staff is very attentive. The facility offers a variety of activities as well as religious services. However, in review of the business side, I am not happy. My mom moved in when it was Pacifica and the company offered a convenient electronic payment method as well as the possibility of accepting Medicaid for long-time residents. When it became The Waterford, her rent increased, and electronic payments were no longer available. The only option is to allow the company to perform an ACH transaction from your account. I declined and now my mom's account as billed an additional $25 fee each month.

The Waterford was too far away from where I worked, expensive, and not that private. A lot of the rooms were left open to face the hall because some of the people were in assisted living, so they had people going in and out of the rooms. I didn't particularly like how open everything was. There wasn't many staff. However, the girl that ran the place was nice.

Everything is going fine here at The Waterford. It is pretty much first-class in both the dining and the individual housing facilities. We are satisfied. Our living facility is quite nice, very roomy, and well-arranged. The community is attractive and well-run.

We chose The Waterford at Virginia Beach for my father. The first time I walked into the place, I knew this was the place I wanted for my father. They worked with me, and I was very fortunate to placed dad here. The staff was very accommodating, the place was beautiful, and my father is very happy there. It has truly been a blessing for me

The Waterford was nice. I was looking for memory care. The one I was supposed to meet wasn’t there. The location was very convenient, but the price was high. I saw the sections where they do activities.

The Waterford is OK, but it was more assisted living, and I wanted an independent style. I saw the dining hall, and they showed me the exercise room. The staff was friendly.

My parents are in The Waterfords. I love the facility. The only reason I am leaving them there is because the apartment is a very nice size. The staff is very nice and very accommodating, but they have not been able to manage medication appropriately.

I visited the Waterford for my mom. It was very good, and the rooms were very nice. There was a salon, dining room, game room, and bistro. The dining area was nice, like a restaurant.

My dad was placed in the Waterford, and he’s doing well. We thought that they were just going to take care of our dad, but it’s the little things that make them great, like how they empty the trash in his room every single day. We feel like the food is of a better quality than most places. My father said that his food is always warm now that he lives there, which broke my heart. My dad had a little, complicated situation, and they worked with us and resolved the problem. We feel like the care level is great, and the price is very reasonable. My dad loves the room, the facility, and the staff. We are very impressed with them.

We placed my father in Pacifica. The facility is about 10 to 12 years old; however, Pacifica has owned the facility for two years, and it looks brand new. The rooms in the center have courtyards with doors going outside and chairs for those residents who face the courtyard. My father actually faces another, beatuiful courtyard. They have amenities and the activities, but my father is 97, so he is actually happier having his meal, going back, and watching television, or going outside in the morning or at night. It is a very nice facility. It is a two-stories, so they have two sessions of meals. He is on the first floor, so he goes to the first session. They not only have the one main entrée, but they also have alternates, which I think most facilities do. They can even get sandwiches if that's what they want to eat. He said the food is quite good. We were given some food passes to come and have lunch, dinner, or breakfast with him, but we haven't had a chance to go yet.

Pacifica is a really nice place, it’s very big, and it has a memory care. It was very clean, and I really liked the director of activities. They have a smaller section for memory care; they have been doing all kinds of activities, and that was pretty impressive. The rooms were nice size, and they are of different sizes. They have several gardens where they can have different activities outside, and they have chair activities and yoga.

Pacifica senior living didn't smell, people were friendly, and it was close to where I live. It was nice, modern, and clean. They played cards, they have crafts, and they were playing Wii when I got there. I thought that was rather cute.

Pacifica did have the same amount of activities as with the other facilities, but it felt more like a hotel. It was not as homey as some of the other ones. I think they need to make it more homey. To me, it felt like a hotel mentality, and I think that's because it has three floors. The apartments did have plenty of room though.

I just live across the street from Pacifica, so a lot of people in my general neighborhood end up going there. I know some people have apartments, others just share a room, and some have a private room, so I've seen all different kinds of arrangements. Sometimes, it is very nice, and everybody is healthy and well and looks good. In other areas, the poor people are having health problems, and that is a little depressing. But it is always clean, and the people are always friendly. You do have to sign in. I have eaten there, and the food is delicious. The staff is always friendly, and one of my friends -- who is no longer there -- is indigent and some of those people even gave her clothing and things like that. So I think this would be a place that I would consider. I have a friend who put her mother there, and they were very well satisfied with it. I was in my friend's room, and it was clean, so I think that everything seemed clean, and there was no odor. Downstairs, there are flowers, and there is a place to sit and wait for somebody to pick you up if somebody is going to. They have an atrium or a square in the middle that has flowers and carpets, which is very nice. There are some people who make good friends, they'd go places and do things together. One of the guys I know is a man, and he has three or four other male friends; they play poker and go off sometimes for lunch and things like that because one of them drives.

Awful....my mother in law was there shy of 2 years. She lost sooooo much weight, skin and bones. High turn over rate with caregivers/staff. Not trained only a few pinoys that are efficient memory care side. Director Erica is non empathetic, basically told family will have mom reevaluate for dementia then calls us later to tell us she's has been terminated from facility because of aggression. Unprofessional, food is awful, 4800 for half a room on the dementia side. Please save your family the heart ache and go elsewhere

The staff of Pacifica Senior Living seem to be very confident. They know what they are they doing. They assisted my dad and mom in getting ready to come in and set up their room. They've been there for about a month now. The rooms are nice. They have a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchenette. The dining room is nice. They have bingo, movie nights, and other functions.

Pacifica is an extremely great place -- pleasant, terrific, and amazing; it’s like being at home. They have a real dining room with differently colored plates which gives it a cozy feel. Everybody’s room is very personalized. It’s like being in a giant house. The staff is exceptional. I would definitely recommend them. The place was amazing; I wish I could live there. They have a record player, they let the residents use laptops, and when they logged in, it shows like a bubble and it will have their name on it. They have to click it, and their page will show a design for them. It’s not confusing and easy. They have radio, music time, bingo, movie night, and arts and crafts. They have a beautiful outdoor area. They have a lot of activities, and they take them out to places too like doctor’s appointments and weekly outings

The first one that I went to was Pacifica in Virginia Beach. This was for my mother. It was the newer one of the four that I went to, and their price seemed to be reasonable as compared to the others; for a newer facility, it seemed to be reasonable. It seemed like a nice place. The staff was courteous and professional. I just got to see some of the people who lived there, and they had like a game room where they were all together playing games and stuff like that.

Pacifica would have been my second choice. I felt the staff was very good there. In the facility that they have for the memory care department, I thought they had a lot of interesting activities for the residents. The lady that I talked to there was very friendly and informative, and it was really a hard choice between the two of them, but I think that I chose the right one for my husband. They had a tool box; if somebody was interested in electronics, they had interesting setup that they might sit down and work with.

My wife is at Pacifica Senior Living. The staff is not trained. They don't have medical knowledge. They're just not friendly. The rooms are fantastic. The environment and the facility are very good, but it doesn't do any good unless you have a good staff. The food used to be pretty good, but now it is terrible. The activities are good though. They really do a good job. In fact, the activities lady is A1. She is very compassionate, very loving, and she keeps them busy. She is really good with them. Overall, what they could improve on, their management needs to do more supervision of their workers. They need to come through there and see what their workers are doing.

My father was at the Pacifica and I am very disappointed with the level of care he received. There was no communication between staff. It is a shame to be paying that much money for your loved one to be taken care of and to feel like no one really gave a crap. Thank goodness he always had a family member with him.

My wife is at Pacifica Senior Living Virginia Beach. It has a nice atmosphere. The rooms are nice. The activities are good. The staff doesn't have enough medical training. But some of the people there are just fantastic.

Pacifica Senior Living is very upscale and looked like a hotel. The cleanliness was fantastic. The lady who showed me the place was very nice. She showed me the different places where they do the activities, which were really nice. They had a gym area, and if you didn’t want to eat in the main dining room, there were cafes on two or three different floors that you could actually go and order from.

I would have gone with Pacifica Senior Living Virginia Beach, except that it was much more money; it's more than a thousand per month. It's actually quite good. Everything was cheerful and upscale. The staff was excellent. They were knowledgeable, and more than that, they were compassionate. The administrative staff was better than excellent, seemed like they knew their business. They have smaller patients, I think only 35 to 40.

Pacifica Senior Living Virginia Beach wasn't really forthcoming with a lot of information. They kind of blew us off because we didn't have our appointment time right. They didn't bother calling me back to try to make another appointment and get me in. I didn't seem too important to them. I would still recommend them to others but they can improve the look of the place. It's not right upon the road. Even though there's a sign as we pulled up, we kind of got the feeling that there were several things about the building that we couldn't really identify. They basically told us to go away.

The Pacifica Senior Assisted Living Homes were beautiful. From the time you pulled up to the time you waled out to leave you felt at home. The grouds were very well kept and the staff was more than on par. Every one was friendly and eager to help. We toook a tour and discussed the programs and things that Pacifica had to offer. They offered all different styles of rooms, a pool, weakly programs for the seniors to attend and kep busyt and actiive. My grandmother did in fact end up deciding to reside at Pacifica in the end and I believe it is because of their expert staff and hands down grade A service.

My grandmother became a resident at Pacifica due to her worsening dementia and declining health. Deciding to move her to a facility was a difficult decision, but we could no longer provide home care that met her needs. My first impression was that the facility was a bit older and could use updating( furniture, decor, etc). Ultimately, we chose Pacifica due to the kindness of the staff. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a separate unit specifically for memory care. Despite the dated decor, their medical supplies were all up to date. Towards the end, my grandmother did nit recognize us. It was during this time that I came to value the staff the most. They would come in to chat with me and were very good at explaining what was happening and offers tips and strategies I could use with my grandmother. Watching a loved one turn grow old is very difficult and I truly appreciate the advice and support of the staff at Pacifca.

The grounds are beautiful and the location is easily accessible from most areas of Hampton Roads. I was pleased with the level of security, amenities for residents with limited mobility, and friendliness of the staff. The only real negative I saw was that there could be some improvement in the level of communication between staff members. A big plus is the very secure outdoor area. I came to this facility to get infomation of assisted living facilities in my area as my mother was considering transferring care of my father to me. I needed to make sure I knew all my options before a decision was made. He had dementia and psychological issues secondary to alcholism and brain injury. Because of his tendency to become agitated and violent easily I didn't feel that this was a good fit for him but I would be great for patients that simply needed help with daily tasks and/or protection from the outside world. That is not to say that I don't believe the staff had the knowledge to handle him. My concern was just physical capability as he is a large, strong man despite signifcant weight loss in recent years. Overall, though, I do feel that this is a great facility and would feel comfortable leaving a relative here.

My grandfather is a resident at Pacifica Senior Living in Virginia Beach. Our family had cared for him at home for several years, but as his Alzheimer's disease progressed, it was evident that we needed professionals to care for him. However, we wanted him to be close to us, and also continue to live as much of a stimulated and active life as he could. We have been so blessed to have Pacifica as his new home. He lives in the Memory Care unit, and is well taken care of beyond our expectations. The facility is clean, the nurses are fantastic and diligent, and we have even gotten to know some of the other residents and families through meetings and events. We now have many different traditions in our family, such as attending holiday functions at Pacifica. The coordinators there create an environment that is kid friendly and welcoming to families. Though my grandfather's Alzheimer's has progressed, I believe it is the consistency and fantastic care of this facility that has helped each transition into various stages of the disease happen with as much ease as possible.
