My experience with Bayside Rehabilitation Center was both Happy and Sad. So happy that they took great care of my mom yet sad when was being released. My mom is my #1 girl and there was no way I was going to allow any facility to treat her less than the queen she deserved to be treated as. The rooms were clean and one thing i could not tolerate was the smell of urine and thank God this facility did not smell of urine. The nurses was great! rehabilitation was excellent. Always made sure she had what she needed and wanted. She was treated special which helped in her rehabilitation. She felt extra special when they polished her nails and put designs on them. My mom has been to 3 other facilities and she was not made to feel special at any of them but at Bayside. The Nurse Director was the BEST She made you feel like a part of her family.Thats the type of help I wish for my MOM. Her meds was always there and they monitored closely to see if she was doing the best that she could do. They would feed her what she could eat and if it was not being served that day, the kitchen staff would fix her something she could eat. I thank God for guiding me to Bayside health and Rehabilitation. They deserve nothing less that a 5 star review. Thank you from the Dwiggins family.

First my negative response is NOT because of the Nurses, CNAs, or the therapy folks. They are trying their darndest under questionable conditions. As a whole, they have been great. My complaint is about the administrators and the owners. They are so shorthanded that it is unfair to the patients and the workers. I've been there when therewas only 1 CNA for a whole wing. My mom sat in her wheelchair from 7:30am to 11:07pm until someone had time to get her to bed. There are other shortages too like insulin needles, lancets to test blood sugar, styrofoam cups just to name a few. Also, no phones in the rooms and only 1 phone number for the entire building...The doctor NEVER returns a phone call AND neither does the administrator. There are no activities for the patients. One highlight is the Food. It's pretty good.

Rooms are shared and outdated. We had to ask for housekeeping to come clean after 5 days of no cleaning. Staff is VERY unprofessional! Therapy is only once a day M-F very short and rushed. No therapy nor activities on the weekend. Overall less than mediocre. Would not recommend.

I was a resident in Bayside rehab for 4 days after which I checked myself out. I had been sent for rehab after 17 days of hospital stay with various illnesses. My first objection was to being yelled at by nursing aides, I didn’t care for being tossed around like a rag doll as they were changing me or the bed linens, I didn’t like the roaches sharing the room with me, the food was inedible most of the time. The overall cleanliness was ok, with cleaning and wiping surfaces frequently. I had one day of therapy which was good and overseen by what seemed to be a very competent therapist. I would not recommend Bayside to anyone I cared about.

My stay was from Dec. 15, 2021-Jan.15, 2022. My goals were to be in a skilled facility for a fractured arm and MS to receive OT/PT treatment. The goals were met. The rooms need to be renovated/refurbished because it is an older facility. My interaction with the home staff was great. Shout-outs to you all! But, the nurses, CNAs, LPNs were short-staffed and/or from an agency. They don't get to know the patient or their needs. Most of them are very friendly and very helpful.

The rooms were dirty Staff was uncaring And unqualified sent my husband to ER twice. I was told by a charge nurse she had no record of him going the day before. I was glad to ok it just to get him out of there. I would never recommend this rehab center. He missed dinner because he was at dialysis. When he was back he was told the kitchen was closed, they gave him a bag of potato chips. Not good for a dialysis patient. I got him out after 3 days and two new infections later.

Mom had to wait MUCH to long for her prescriptions, it took almost 24 hours after admission for the Rehab to follow up on the Doctor's orders from the Hospital. They restrictions for visiting is MUCH to difficult for the parents and visitors. NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE (EVEN THOUGH PATIENT AND VISITOR HAVE RECEIVED COVID SHOTS) TEMP OUTSIDE IS LOW TO MID 90°s WITHOUT HEAT INDEX. MINIMAL SHADY AREA ON PORCH TO SIT, PORCH LOCATED FACING TRAFFIC ON MAJOR STREET. EXHAUST FROM TRAFFIC IS HORRID, ESPECIALLY WITH HEAT INDEXES ALL WEEK TO EXCEED 100°! IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE INDOOR VISITING WITH MINIMAL RESTRICTIONS. VISITING HOURS ARE ONLY 11:00 to 4:00, OBVIOUSLY THE HOTTEST PART OF THE DAY. PLEASE DO NOT TREAT OUR FAMILY MEMBERS LIKE THIS. AFTER 2 DAYS MOM'S REQUESTS NOT ANSWERED ABOUT POSSIBILITY OF GETTING NON PUREED FOOD.

My rating is cumulative, balancing out my evaluation of the nursing management staff, the CNA staff, and the therapy staff. My mother was at Bayside for about a month following a debilitating stroke which left her bedbound (paralyzed on one side) and on a feeding tube. She regained some abilities while at Bayside. There are lots of good things about Bayside and there are a few frustrating things. The nursing director and the other department heads are all very competent and impressive. I met with the directors as a group twice and they said all the right things. The plans were good. But execution of the plans often left me feeling like there was a disconnect between them and the other staff. For example, my mom was supposed to be turned in bed every 2 hours. She rarely was. She needed frequent diaper changes, which she did not receive, and developed a painful rash as a result. She also developed a persistent eColi infection, which may have been avoided if she had been kept dryer (or maybe not, it’s hard to say for sure). Bayside offers many activities for patients but she could not participate in any of them. I was disappointed that they didn’t offer anything for bedbound patients. The nurses (RNs) were overall very good, patient and caring with her. There were a couple of mistakes with her nutrition, which were very concerning because she is a diabetic and her blood sugar shot up. One mistake was self-reported, which I appreciated, people do make mistakes. The other was not and no explanation was ever offered. The CNAs were overall also very good, many of them excellent, but honestly there did not seem to be enough of them to manage patients with needs as great as my mom’s. Other patients who were more mobile and didn’t need as much help seemed better off there. My mom often had to wait for hours to have her diaper changed or to be changed into clean clothes. I once found her with her hands covered in her own feces and couldn’t get someone to respond immediately. That was unacceptable. She needed more attention than they could give her, which resulted in her falling out of bed once (or possibly more, her roommate told me she fell another time). The therapy staff were truly remarkable. My mom had PT, OT and speech therapy and all of the therapists were great. They were patient, kind, professional, and helped her make gains. Overall I think this facility is a good one but is better suited to patients with fewer needs than my mom’s. If they had more CNAs, some of the problems we experienced could have been avoided. The building is old and her ceiling leaked once during a storm but was repaired within a couple of days. The biggest strengths are the kindness of many of the staff and the competence of the therapy staff.

This is a great facility to go for rehabilitation. I was a patient there for 2 weeks and my stay was such a great experience. The staff was super supportive. My room was great! Had the bed by the window where I was closer to the air conditioner since I am always got. There are activities planned everyday so you can choose which activities you want to participate in.

I used Bayside as a rehabilitation place for my mother. They had the best rehabilitation as far as machines and were more modern. One thing that caught my eye was that they had a machine that they could adjust to the height of your stairs for you to practice on going up and down. My mother's room was a nice size. It was semi-private so they had two people. It had a bathroom and a sink. The food was good. However, overall, I would give them a 3 because I think they're understaffed for the amount of patients that they had. Their dining area was more like a restaurant. It was nice. They also had a separate room if you didn't want to go down to the dining hall. They had a TV in there. They had an alarm system set up. If you went too close to the door, it would go off. I had mixed reviews on the staff. Some of them were very caring but some were not so caring. It was very expensive.

Both of my in-laws have been residents of Bayside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for over two years. From the perspective of a son-in-law as well as being a health care provider myself, I give this facility the highest marks. Their staff, at all levels, has been stellar in every regard - compassion, responsiveness, approriateness of care, availability, and professionalism. My wife and I trust them implicitly and in many ways now consider them an extended part of our family. We have had less than desirable experiences at similar facilities (although we recognize that the nature of this work is hard) and thus feel especially reassured and grateful that my in-laws are at Bayside Healthcare & Rehab. Without hesitation, I give them the highest recommendation possible.

To anyone that is in need of care and therapy of a loved one or family member, I highly recommend the folks here at Bayside. The care my Mother received while a patient could not have been better. From the staff of therapists, to the nursing care, and even the dining room staff was incredible. I will forever be grateful to the Admissions folks, ( Jamie ), for the ease with which they transitioned my Mom from one facility to Bayside. Again, the staff is caring, and diligent to patients needs. So if the need arises, my first and only choice would be to return to Bayside. Thanks to all, Ken Christopher

I was recently a patient ai Bayside. I was very satisfied with the care and treatment that I received. The staff was friendly, dedicated and professional. I felt as though they really cared about my condition and my progress. The nursing was stoned to my medical needs and the therapy staff was caring and sympathetic to my physical progress. Everyday I was encouraged and strengthened. I would recommend this facility to others and hopefully I will never need rehab care again but if I do I know where I will be going.

My stay at Bayside was terrific. The nurses are fantastic and the therapist are just as good. My therapy sessions helped me build up enough strength to go back home, which was a goal I was not sure I could obtain. The place is VERY clean and surprisingly the food was great! I highly recommend.

I was a rehab patient at Bayside for several months recently and I will miss everyone there. I was treated very well and loved all of my friends and staff, and they loved me in return. The therapy department is exceptional and I especially enjoyed the activities that the center provided. I have a passion for poetry and they set it up for me to recite my poetry to the group!

My mother went to Bayside for rehab and it was one of the cleanest nursing homes I have ever been in. The staff bent over backwards to care for her and made our experience wonderful. I recommend this center highly.

My father had to go to Bayside Healthcare because the other facility was not available for him when he was released from the hospital. It was a low-budget looking kind of place. The staff was not approachable. They never make eye contact or say anything to you. They would just pick up their paperwork and turn around and walk away and leave you standing there. My dad discussed with the management about the food that he could eat, and yet they would give him the same menu that everybody else was getting. They need to improve on the staff and the facility. The day that my dad died, nobody approached me just to say anything when I was getting his things out of his room.
