My husband has moved into Anchor of Hope Senior Living of Suffolk LLC. We chose it because it was very personalized with a small number of patients to the number of nurses. There's no risk that they'll say, "The Medicare is finished, so he has to leave now." He could stay there the rest of his life if he had to. It's very homey. It's in a regular house, so it has nice sunny windows and it's carpeted. It's very nice and very peaceful. It's just super pristine. Everything is perfectly clean like nobody's even been in there. It's well-kept. They have a physical therapy company that comes in. He's getting over a stroke, so he's there mostly for physical therapy. The food looks good and he likes it. He has a big screen TV which he likes. They have a washer and dryer and they do the laundry for the residents. They can eat in their room, but there's a common eating area, too, and they can eat together if they like. They have a stairlift but he's so feeble that he can't even walk. He can only use one hand, so he's pretty limited in what he can do right now. They help him with bathing and dressing, and they administer his medicines.

The staff took wonderful care of my aunt. She suffered from dementia which was hard on our family. They were able to manage her sundowning. The one nurse caring for three individuals beats the 1 nurse to 20 patient ratio that you would have at a major facility. The home had a Nurse Practitioner who came to the home to provide care which was great. I would trust any of my family members at their home.
