My father-in-law is very happy at Sunrise of Springfield. We felt welcome. The minute we walked into the facility, we were greeted by the director. They had a sign welcoming us for the tour that was displayed at the concierge desk. We had toured several, but this was the only location that we felt that was right for him. Everybody that we met was extremely helpful and very nice. People would come and say hello and how nice everything was; it was everyone from the housekeeping people to people in the elvator. We took my father-in-law there, and he was very comfortable. They have been excellent getting him adjusted there as well. As soon as we walked in the door the day that my father-in-law was moving in, everybody came out. The nurse was there. The care coordinator was there. The director was there. Everybody came and introduced themselves to him and made him feel really, really welcome. He is really having a great time there. He loves the other residents. He's been very active since he's been there. We really feel like we made the right choice. It is clean. It is friendly. It's a very homey atmosphere, just exactly what we wanted.

I toured Sunrise of Springfield. They treat me with respect. I love the staff. I have not tasted the food. They told me what they provide for their clients. I like how they settle their food in the machine, and that seems to work. I like it. The cleanliness and structure of the building were very good, as well as the upkeep of it and the security. The atmosphere was welcoming.

I didn't like much of anything about Sunrise of Springfield. The rooms were very, very small. They had a microwave and a small refrigerator and it was all in one room. It felt more like a hotel. The young man who toured me was very friendly though. He didn't treat me like I didn't know what I was doing, because I didn't know a lot about senior living places. Cleanliness was fine. They have a little bit of a park bench area with trees around.

Sunrise of Springfield was my mother's second choice. She enjoyed it there. She liked the person that was doing the tour and the size of the rooms. They had a deluxe studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments. The staff was very well informed and answered all of our questions, and he built an excellent rapport very quickly. It was also very nice that when we got there on the desk, they had our names on a piece of paper welcoming us. They also had printed nametags for us. They were ready. They were the only facility that did that. They're right across the street from a major mall. They have outings to the mall. Every day, they celebrate something new. For example, today is America's Recycling Day, so they're doing a food drive. They have coffee and chronicles. They play games, they have jewelry designs. Tomorrow, they have somebody's birthday that they're going to celebrate. Then Wednesday, Peace Day. They have something going on every single day of the week. They had a courtyard outside, a large cafeteria where you can just go and get cookies, and they have a cookie warmer, an ice cream machine, and a real jukebox there. They had an exercise room, but we didn't see it. They showed us where it is, but we didn't go in. It seemed affordable and they accept pets, so that was good. They were eating cookies and playing bingo when we first got there.

Sunrise of Springfield was nice. It was wonderful. They had good customer service. The lady that took me around and gave me the tour did a good job. I mean, I don't have anything bad to say. As far as the place being clean and things like that, that was fine. The staff members were courteous and attentive.

Sunrise of Springfield has been fine. They're very friendly there. It's a nice facility. They have activities and whatnot. My father is not especially happy there, though. He just wants to be in his own home. He's not crazy about the food, but they offer several options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a library, a salon, an activities room, an outdoor patio space, and a side yard with a walking path. It was one of the lower-priced ones, but they still seem a little expensive.

I was able to visit Sunrise of Springfield. I toured assisted living, and I had a good experience. The staff I met was very, very nice and pleasant. She showed me everything, and she responded to questions. It's a nice facility with different levels of care. It's very neat and clean, and they were following the Covid restrictions. I had to wash my hands before I entered the facility. People were not very close to each other. I thought it was good. The rooms were neat and clean. They had a recreation area, a library, a dining room, a room where residents could watch TV, and a physical therapy room. They have different menus for different days too. It's also a good location that's why I like it.

I went to Sunrise of Springfield. The people were nice. I really like that place. It stuck with me because the staff calls every now and then, and that's good too. It's important that they follow up. I remember that the people who live there do pictures, they make paintings, and they put the paintings on the wall. I kind of like that. At Sunrise of Springfield, I thought it wasn't as light as I would like it to be, but it wasn't as dark as most. My sister went there, too, and she felt the same way. She said she didn't feel as bad when she went to the Alzheimer's facility because we would need Alzheimer's (my mom has Alzheimer's). There are a couple of places that we keep going back to, and that's one of them. The head of activities just seemed like somebody I would want to talk to every day. I felt like I could call and get answers, and I felt like the staff there was just excellent. I didn't eat the food that day; I saw what they were eating and they gave me a plate, but I was so busy talking to people there I didnt eat anything. There were two ladies sitting on the front porch when I was there. I talked to them and asked them how they liked the place, and they gave me a review. So it was comfortable for me. The people were comfortable for me. I felt like they listened, and I felt like they cared. I keep going back to them because the price is right, and plus it is close to D.C. It's in Virginia, and we're on the other side of the bridge, so it's not too far away, and it is easy to get to. I thought it was a pretty nice location for me and for my family. Its a comfortable place and centrally located for all of us. The rooms were very nice. Another thing I like about them is that Alzheimer's patients can mingle with the other people until a certain time, and I like that a lot. When you walk in, it is very attractive. I thought the facilities were very nice. They have a lot of activities. They had a calendar up of all their events. I know that my mom wouldn't attend all that stuff, but they did have somebody there playing a guitar and singing to the patients. I think it's nice that they bring in music, and my mom likes music.

My mom and I toured Sunrise of Springfield. They showed us a model suite and she liked it. It was roomy and looked comfortable. The lady was telling us about the meals that are offered and we talked with the chef. The lady was very nice and I liked her attitude. I thought it was a great place to be. The other selling point was that my mom likes to shop and there's a mall across the street, so that definitely was a plus.

My sister is in Sunrise of Springfield and she seems to be happy. She's in a wheelchair and she's able to get the help that she needs. I find the staff to be very caring and pleasant people. She has a studio room. There are rooms right next to each other and they share a bathroom. They have loads of activities, unfortunately my sister has chosen not to participate. They have exercises every week, they have lots of stimulating things, and everybody seems to be happy there. To me the food looks and tastes good. The layout of the community is very pleasant.

We visited Sunrise of Springfield. They showed me a studio in the memory care section, which would not work. It's like a big closet, and I don't know how anybody could live there. It had a very pleasant surroundings, and the way the buildings were constructed, there's lots of light, so it had a sunny environment. The dining room was very nice. I had a sandwich, and it was very nice. They showed an area where people could get together, and even in memory care, they had a very nice, contained, safe area. They had a lovely resident cat; however, I saw that the litter box had not been changed in two days, and if they can't take care of their cat, I don't think I want to live there.

Sunrise of Springfield was very nice and it was much more vibrant there. They had stuff going on and the residents seemed to be more involved in activities. They were a little better than the other place I visited.

I would say Sunrise of Springfield was very favorable, very informative, and very welcoming. The place was definitely clean. I didn’t think it was overwhelmingly big, and the residents seemed to be very relaxed and enjoying the activities or the set up of wherever I saw them. I saw activities that were in progress as well as things that were being offered. They were getting ready to have festivities, so they were decorating and preparing. I got the general sense of how things functioned.

The activities at Sunrise of Springfield are numerous, and the residents seem to participate in them pretty regularly; they are always doing stuff. My mother is there and has made lots of friends. It is fantastic. They have to cook for a lot of people, but the food is fine.

We settled on Sunrise of Springfield, and Mom has been very happy and satisfied since her move there. The place is excellent, and the services are very good and of high quality. My mother’s room and the amenities are outstanding. We are very pleased. I haven’t eaten there, but I was able to look at their menu, and I can say from all account the food quality is very good. With their activities, they have them posted with the time and where they will be taking place. My mother has enjoyed several of the activities. She has gone out for lunch a couple of times. She has met friends for bingo and bowling.

I was very pleased with Sunrise of Springfield. It had the type of atmosphere that I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and caring. I was very satisfied with the rooms, which exceeded my expectations. They were very updated compared to other places I've seen. The grounds were well kept and kept everything updated and very pleasing. What caught my attention was the way it looked on the outside.

Sunrise of Springfield was really good, and the food was great. They do different programs with their residents. It's really nice. They had something that's similar to a gym with rehab. The apartments were nice, roomy, and spacious.

The staff from Sunrise of Springfield was very helpful. They introduced themselves to me. I felt the atmosphere was really good and positive. The rooms were the same type as in the other facility; I remember the rooms being fine. They provided me a list of all the activities going on at that facility. They have a lot of activities including trips away from the facility.

Sunrise was a nice facility. They have very limited parking, so it was very difficult to find a place to park when I went to visit because they were having an event. It’s located in an area that’s sort of isolated, away from most other parts of Springfield and near the old mall, so it’s not really conducive to any kind of comfortable outdoor arrangements. The only room that I saw was a small suite. It was very nice but did not have a homey feel. It’s very institutional and looked like there were lots of options for activities.

The person who accommodated me at Sunrise of Springfield was very friendly and very knowledgeable. The person presented the place in a very nice manner. I would be comfortable having my mom live there. The rooms were very good and were of good size. They also had lots of open areas for the residents to go to as well as outdoor facilities. They had activities like outside tours and shopping trips.

Sunrise of Springfield was very clean. The people were very friendly. I talked to several residents there at the time, and they seemed to love the place. There were a lot of activities that went on. They had a gentleman's club, which I thought was kind of nice. However, my friend ended up in the hospital, but I did like Sunrise a lot. If I had to pick a place, that would be it, and I think he would love it. Everything was beautiful at Sunrise. The dining area was very clean. Everybody looked like they were having a good time when I walked through it. I spent about an hour and a half talking to people that live there, and they were all very pleased with Sunrise. The little efficiency apartments were really nice. They weren't very small, so you have a good size room, and that was nice. They were very clean and not aged. Because Sunrise has been there for quite a few years, I was amazed at how well the rooms are kept up. I was also amazed at how nice and cooperative the staff was. During the initial interview before I viewed the premises, a lady from the dining room brought me a glass of iced tea, so it is just like living in a home. It portrays exactly what it supposed to be. They don't encourage you to stay in your room; they want you to come downstairs in the living area. There were a lot of people out and about. I noticed a lot of families were coming in and families were included, so that was very nice. It wasn't like going into a nursing home, and that was the one thing I like about it. It was like going into a home. You had your separate apartment, but the downstairs was a home.

I was very pleased with Sunrise of Springfield when I visited the facility because they were willing to talk with me and showed me everything they had. They also led me through to make sure I was comfortable and understood what they were telling me. They were very nice and very knowledgeable. I was able to talk to the residents there and while talking to them, I really felt that they like the facility and they appreciated what the staff was doing. They were comfortable where they were. I toured three different rooms and I thought that they were relatively spacious compared to other places. The programs that are being offered to the residents were great. I like the layout of the facility and I like how the staff interacted with different people.

At Sunrise of Springfield, I was surprised at the interaction between the staff and the residents. It was all cordial and that indicated their in-depth knowledge and understanding of the residents. In terms of activities, they have the usual. They have bingo, group games, sing-alongs, etc.

I would highly recommend Sunrise of Springfield. The facilities are nice and clean. It has a home-like atmosphere. The staff couldn’t be nicer. The food was very good. I was able to eat there once and I seem to enjoy it. They have a lot of activities and in fact they have something going on every day like bingo and Zumba. They also have plenty of TVs and they have a little room that you could work puzzles or play checked.

We're very, very pleased with the staff at Sunrise of Springfield. My mother only had a complaint about one lady that worked at night; otherwise, everybody is very helpful and very attentive. My mother needs a lot of care because she doesn’t walk much and really needs assistance getting to and from the toilet. They have lots of activities for her to be involved in. She can choose one if she wants to and they encouraged her to be involved in activities and not stay in her room. She does eat all the meals down the dining room. Any problems that we had they've took care of it immediately. They now have a new cook and my mom has been complaining a little bit about the food, but they have a meeting once a month with the residents for complaints on how things are going and they are working on them getting addition staff in the kitchen. The only problem I have there is that it's very expensive.

Going to sunrise for the first time was a very rewarding experience. Growing up I've gone to an assisted living center to visit my great grandmother. I always thought it was great that older people had a place where they could maintain their freedom and still be taken care of. Sunrise was the same. The staff were very friendly and seemed to really have strong relationships with the tenants. We only got to see the big community room because that is where we spent time telling stories and listening ti them. As far as I'm concerned I believe that the facility was like an upscale hotel. It had a lot of rooms and a big area for activities and relaxation,

I had only ever visited one other retirement community which was very nice. This had more of a hotel vibe but without the energy obviously. It was full service even for the people that didn't need must assistance. It was run along the same management and style of an all-inclusive resort except instead of a beach it was right next to a highway but offered all residents rides to the D.C. Metro which was close by as well as a mall. It's biggest draw back is that it is built in a less than desirable neighborhood and community but the facilities themselves are very nice.
