The rooms are well kept and the staff is wonderful, helpful and available when needed. There are planned activities 7 days a week that residents are free to attend at will. The food is very good and nutritious as well. I have made a number of friendships here that I will always treasure. The atmosphere is welcoming.

The community has three potential areas to experience. The resident can be very involved in activities and gatherings within the facility, and around the town, or just observe here from a distance. The other option is to spend quality time in their apartment, reading, sleeping, writing, watching TV, or working various packets from the Activity Co-ordinator, that include puzzles, cross words, word search, and other cognitive exercises . We have an excellent new state of the art gym, that has a plethora of exercises, cardio machines, etc. The floors have large areas to walk every morning or anytime, in addition to the outside sidewalk around the building. We engage in gardening activities and read literature associated with gardening. The greatest fact of this community, is the closeness to medical care, shopping, and outdoor events in the Roanoke area. It cant be beat! The three meals a day accommodate all types of appetite, and provide multiple choices, at every meal! The staff been greatly accommodating. Several residents have pets, and we have well defined guidelines to follow, in respect to other residents and this community. We have prompt mail service from regular Postal service, USPS, Fed Ex, Amazon, and anything else that carries mail, packages and all. We are fortunate. Transportation is provided by an excellent bus driver, and we accommodate all modes of mobility. My family is quite content that I live in a safe, secure environment, not to mention that during COVID-19, we had one of the most well informed, organized and implemented plan, in place for the duration of the event. The management staff work well together, far better and professional, than I have witnessed at various other kinds of independent communities. The individuals that work for this company are different than any other community, more compassionate, caring, honest, and listen, even in the busiest of times. They are happy and energetic. Come join us here in Roanoke, Virginia, and have the view of beautiful mountains, and great picturesque Fall foilage!

Apartments are spacious. Food is good but even better now with the new chef. More servers would help the staff. Staff is the shining star at this facility.

We like Holiday Elm Park Estates. The only thing is they're not assisted living. My aunt liked the rooms and everything. But what bothered her was there would be nobody there in case she needed help at night. They closed the doors at 7:30 where other people couldn't come in and out. My aunt would have a key and she could go in and out on, but the only thing she would have to rely on would be a necklace or a button or something to wear. Somebody would come and help you when you fall, but there wouldn't be anyone there at the place to help you after 7:30. That's what sort of bothered her. We liked everything about Holiday Elm Park Estates. The size of the rooms was better. Their bathrooms were nice. Everything about it was nice. They showed us everything they had. There's a person who comes in to do their hair and everything. In the elevator and their common room, they have listed what days of the week they will take you to Walmart or do outings and stuff like that. I like how they did that. The dinner was OK. I'm a picky eater and my aunt is too. They had a menu where they had to write something every night. And if you didn't like that, you could do something else. Some of the menu sounded okay, but some of the menu was like, no, we don't like certain things. We liked the fact that people could go outside and walk and everything, and it was nice and peaceful there. The staff who assisted us was nice. And the place was nice and clean.

Holiday Elm Park Estates was a beautiful place. They were very helpful in explaining everything. It had a good atmosphere. They gave the residents something to do. They make things easy and simpler. They had gardens, puzzle rooms, breakfast and dinner, a beautiful area to eat in, and a place to commune with each other. They played all sorts of games, like bingo, to help them get along and feel good about themselves.

My mother will be moving to Holiday Elm Park Estates. We took a tour and viewed a couple of different apartments, talked to the chef, and viewed the facilities. Then we sat down and discussed the price and whatnot. The staffs were very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable, and the chef was very friendly as well as everybody there. Everything about the rooms was really clean and nice. They're some of the bigger rooms we've seen, and some of them offered an outside patio or balcony, which we liked. The size of the rooms kinda stood out to us. They had a beauty and barber shop, a chapel, they take them shopping, they take them to their doctor's apartment, they played bingo, they have live music, and someone comes in. They had a lot of different things, and that sounded nice.

I went to Holiday Elm Park Estates and I enjoyed the whole thing. It was a good tour. The staff seemed to be really knowledgeable and really friendly. They knew most of the residents by name. It's a very lovely location. It's very centralized and easy to get to. The rooms have nice views and they seemed to offer a lot. It seemed like they have a very caring staff. They gave me a copy of their menu and we came in through the dining hall. The residents were eating at the time. The food selection seemed good, and the residents seemed to enjoy the food. The dining hall was lovely. They have a salon, a laundry room available for the residents, a lounging room, aTV area, a game room, and an activity room.

I enjoyed the tour at Holiday Elm Park Estates. The community is very nice. I saw several people and four different units, which was very nice. It has a beautiful view of the mountain and is on top of the hill. Everyone that I met was very nice. The manager who gave me the tour was very nice and showed me various features of each unit and what was going on. I had a great time with the lady in charge of the crafts. We talked a lot about the activity because I've been doing crafts for years. It is something that I look forward to. Everything looked nice and well taken care of. The staff members were very knowledgeable and friendly.

Elm Park Estates was very nice. They got a little hiking trail that goes around. The food was really good. It's a nice place. We met with the lady that did the tour, and she was very nice. We only visited a studio apartment, and it was very nice. They had a library on each floor, and they had activities. They had a board up showing the activities for each day.

Elm Park Estates is more of a retirement community, they provide the meals and all but we pay someone there that comes in and gives my father-in-law his medicine. They come in and clean the room too but they don't help him bathe or anything like that because it's an independent living place. It was nice, the food was good, and this is going to sound negative, but everything was good up until COVID. They were isolated in their apartments and the food, I think, suffered. They would bring their meals to the room and that sort of thing. I think the quality went down on the food. It's not the facility's fault but I think a lot of the tenants there had depression too because they were isolated and didn't get to participate in other activities. Now that they're back eating in the dining room, the food is still not back to what it used to be and it used to be good. That was a big thing for my father-in-law. They eat 3 meals a day in the dining room and stuff, and he just got to a point where, a lot of times, he wouldn't even go down there because the food was so bad. For the most part, the staff was very helpful. There was a high level of communication, they did communicate well. Overall, they were good. His room is nice and it has an open floor plan. The bathroom is handicapped-accessible, so that was helpful with its wide doorways. They were also very prompt when there were any maintenance issues. They had a lot of activities, parties and movie nights and everything was great. I don't know that they have picked back up on all of those things yet but it was good.

We just moved my mother in Elm Park Estates and she had to be put in quarantine. So far they've checked on her regularly. They did miss one meal, but so far it's good. We've had a really good experience, but she hasn't been out in the general population yet because of quarantine. The staff is very helpful. My mother has talked about the food. She says that it is generous portions, more than she could eat, but that it's good. The little apartment that she went into, it now has fresh paint, it's got new carpeting, new blinds, so it's very nice. They do have activities, and she hasn't been able to take part in any of those yet, but there is a calendar of events in the elevator, so she's already looked at that and has expressed interest in some of the activities. I think the missed meal was just because my mother was new and they hadn't gotten her in the nurse system, maybe, so that's how it got overlooked. Other than that, everything has been great. My mother had been in a retirement community for four years prior to this and Elm Park was the one that was the closest to where I live. After seeing it, I didn't feel the need to look in at the other facilities that were much farther away.

Did not get to experience the food. The place was clean and very Covid careful. The staff was very pleasant. The apartments had good and amenities and seemed a good size. The location is very good. Has some nice views while being close to necessities.

Elm Park Estates was a nice place. It was a place I was considering, but there were two problems with it. Each apartment did not have its own laundry facility, instead they just had a laundry facility at the end of the corridor and the residents would have to compete with the staff that was doing laundry for the other residents. The other problem was they have meals at certain times of the day and you have to be there at a certain time in order to be served; everybody gets served at once. So if dinner starts at 4:30, you would have to be there at 4:30; you couldn't come in at 5:00 and eat. They didn't have a time period where you could go in and just sit down. You had to be down there at 4:30 for dinner, which is about two hours earlier than my mother eats. It was a very nice place and they had activities, but they had more bingo and things like that rather than lectures or people who come in to talk. They also had a game room.

My mother-in law is in Elm Park Estates. They're wonderful people. It came recommended, and when we looked at it, we liked it. She has lots of friends and they can have lunch out once a month. My mother-in-law went out once with them. They have different games, and she doesn't do that, but they have something every day for them. I love the food.

Elm Park Estates was nice, and I like the setup. I like the rooms and how they prepare the meals. They have different activities, like the day I was there, someone came in to sing. The food was delicious and I enjoyed it. The person who toured me showed me everywhere, including the rooms. He was really good, took time with me, and answered my questions. The only thing was it was too expensive for me to stay there.

Elm Park Estates appears secure. It's clean and it has a welcoming environment. We spoke with the coordinator who took us into a couple of rooms (a one- and two-bedroom). She showed us the dining room too. She roughly went over what else was available there as far as laundry services, the availability of washers and dryers, and the availability of a full kitchen. Transportation is available to go to stores and on recreational trips. Also if you have family come to visit, they have an apartment that let them use for free. It is a very nice community. The price is reasonable and it is all inclusive. In fact, it may even be cheaper for what it includes because they provide three meals a day whereas other communities only include two.

Everything at Elm Park Estates was nice. The rooms were pleasant. I love the dining room, I can bring a lady friend for dinner there to see how the food is. They showed me the exercise rooms and all the activity spaces that they had. I saw their well-manicured grounds, the excellent parking, and the rest of their amenities. Everything was just neat and clean and they even provide transportation.

I was impressed with Elm Park Estates. It was clean, the people were friendly, and the staff was very courteous, cordial and professional. It was more of a home environment -- organized, bright, and welcoming. Even I had an opportunity to talk to some other residents and get their impressions. The residents looked happy and active.

I put my mother in Elm Park Estates. What stood out for me was the cleanliness and the fact the staff live there. I just really like it. It is an assisted living place, but it doesn't seem like it's for old people. It looks like a hotel, and the people who work there actually live there. They have a chapel, a patio, an activity room, and a beautiful dining room. They have four stories with an elevator and take them to different activities. They have a nursing staff that can take care of them. It can be anywhere from independent living all the way up to hospice care. My mother is in assisted living. The quality of the food at Elm Park is better than most restaurants that I pay a lot of money to eat at in Roanoke. They have a chef there who's absolutely unbelievable, and their food and set up is like going to a high-class restaurant. They would announce activities in the dining room, and she'll go down and if she's not interested, she'll go back to her room and sit in her room or outside if the weather's nice.

Our sister-in-law was in Elm Park Estates, and it's a wonderful place. I would highly recommend it. The staff is very wonderful, caring, and friendly. The facility is very clean. The meals are well-prepared and delicious and served in a wonderful, clean, and spacious dining area. The grounds are beautiful. It's an estate on the side of a mountain, and the view is beautiful. I would live there myself. They have a nurse that actually lives on the premises, and if you need her, you can pay for her separately.

Elm Park Estates is a very attractive place. This is one of the places I had seen because it was nearby. It is modern. There is a big atrium with skylights and lots of light coming in. The hallways are wide. They also have little shelves that people decorate for the seasons. The apartment sizes are good. Elm Park Estates is a very vibrant, happy place. The residents looked very happy and comfortable. The facility is a very optimistic, happy place. The dining room is very large. There is a menu from which you can choose. The food was excellent. Elm Park Estates is part of a large group. If you wish to travel, you can stay at one of their places in another state for no extra charge. That is a really good feature for me.

As far as price range for me, Elm Park Estates would have been tight, but overall, I would say, I could accept the place. It seemed outdated. The paints and the furnishings needed to be updated. However, the people were very friendly. I talked to a couple of the residents, and they seemed to be happy. They have a pool, and they had so many activities. It was close to town. The neighborhood was updated and safe. It was pretty close to a hospital and a mall.

I moved my mom to Elm Park Estates. It is good. They have home health care right there if you need some service. It is almost like assisted living just have to pay a few dollars more to have it available. It is all independent living and just have a manager available on call. If anything happens, then they can call a medical facility. My mother chose it because it has the most activities. We visited 5 assisted living places, and this is the one she feels she likes better. That is her second reason. The first reason is that it is $1,000 less.

It was an excellent visit for me at Elm Park. It was wonderful. They came and picked me up. I had lunch with them, and we listened to a concert. They took me on a tour. They were just lovely. The food was wonderful. The staff was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful. They just had the basics, and that's all you need. You would have your meals outside, but they had a microwave and the few essentials for what you would need. They have it well-prepared. Activities were well-developed. They are always having dances and having people come to sing to them. They take them on tours and bus trips.

Elm Park Estates is strictly independent living. It's a very, very nice facility. The rooms are of good size. The two bedrooms are really nice. The one bedroom is a little bit small. We did have a meal there when we had the tour and I was very pleased with the meal we had. The folks that we toured with were very, very gracious and actually have invited us back. Even if they are independent living, they try to aide their people in place. Once you get to the point where you really, really need a lot of care, they are going to work with you to try to make sure that you can stay there as long as possible. This is number 1 on my list if mom is truly just independent living.

After visiting several facilities, we decided to move our mom to Elm Park Estates. It was quite a wonderful place. My mom didn't want a big apartment, she wants a studio apartment. She's got a little patio. She can go out to the dining room. The first day she met four ladies and they have lunch together. Sunday morning she's not feeling well and the cafeteria take it up on themselves to send up some toasts and fruits and ginger ale for her. They were really warm, they were really helpful. And the price is just perfect. So, we find it to be very good and my mom is really happy there.
