The rooms look like trash the staff is bad they do not help the residents. They do not answer call bell the food is awful. They are rude and talk to the residents any kind of way I would not recommend this place to no one . If you want good service don’t come here you won’t get it. I made a huge mistake bringing my mom here.

If you want your family member to live don't let them near this place, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN . First time in I thought to myself "this is not good". My mother went in for rehab, tjey never could get her out of the bed but yet I was never told this until after 5 days she goes to ER and dies 2 days later. I had been over several times but no one ever told me that she could not get out of bed without getting dizzy. Day they send her to ER they also tell me "by the way, she tested positive for Covid yesterday". I had not received a call about that. Bells go off all the time for help, no one comes in to check on the residents. Too many residence to staff. Place is old and supplies are stacked up in the halls. My mom gets her dinner and its tunafish nkt something hot and good. Ice cream is melted. Run, run, run away. If I could give negative stars I would.

This Facility is the worst. There is no sense of Urgency for patients in this building. It should be shut down for the lack of empathy or Care for these patients. Bathrooms are not working or functioning properly, food is Disgusting. The staff could care less regarding the bell that goes off for assistance. My sister ring the bell for assistance on several occasions and nobody came to her room. As I was walking thru the hallway I asked the nursing staff is that noise a Fire Alarm? They said somebody need help but nobody moved to see or help the patient. It’s a Disgusting Facility. I wouldn’t recommend this place to nobody.

My mother was at Glenbournie Rehab a month ago. I have taken my time to write this review because I was so angry by the situation there that I felt I should give it a few weeks before putting anything down on paper so my review would not be clouded by my anger. Upon arrival, my mom was put in a room across from the quarantine covid unit. I felt this was not a good place for her since she had just left the hospital because of bronchitis/pneumonia and heart issues. I told them about my concern. They did say they would switch her room the next day which they did. However, what really bothered me was that I shared with them that my mother has dementia and that at night time she might speak to them in Spanish because that is her native language. The person taking her vitals said, “Why would they send a person that does not speak the language to us, that is just wrong.” I looked at her and explained that my mom does speak English, but that with her dementia she might speak to them in Spanish it just depends. The ignorance was shocking. My parents and I have lived in Richmond for over 30 years and I have never heard anyone make a comment like that. I bit my tongue but what I wanted to say was, “Would you not treat a person just because they do not speak the language. The next day PT went well and I have to say that the PT folks are good. However, on her third day there, I found my parents really upset when I arrived after work saying that they were leaving. I spoke to the person in the hall who seemed to be assigned to her room and also sand I shared that my mom wanted to leave and if she knew what had happened. The employee said to me, “She refused to eat, I am calling social services on her.” At that point, I tried to find someone who could help me understand what was going on with the situation. After several attempts and being ignored by several employees, a kind nurse came and spoke to me. I explained to her that my mom has dementia and that an employee was scolding my mom and saying that she was calling social services on her. I was the one who ended up speaking to social services and requesting an immediate transfer to another rehabilitation facility. I also want to add that Glenbournie has an alarm that beeps non-stop, I don’t know how the employees can handle that noise. No one smiles or seems happy with their job there. It is a very sad and angry place. The employees seem very tense. If I were management I would really see why everyone is so unhappy or why no one ever says hello. I also waited to write this review because I wanted to compare my mom’s experience with the other facility before writing the review. From the minute we walked into the other facility we were greeted with kindness. peace and love.

My mother was at Glenburnie Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and that was so institutional. It didn't feel like a home. It felt like a hospital and smelled worse. She was in rehab, then she fell and lost her glasses and I had to put out an all-points bulletin to get her glasses back when that incident happened. They didn't tell me she fell; her roommate told me she fell. The staff was very kind and friendly. It was just that incident that happened that was very concerning to our family, that they didn't tell us Momma had fallen. We went in to visit her and she said, "I can't find my glasses." We were looking and then the roommate said, "Oh, well, she fell." It was great how they engage the residents with a gentleman who comes in for exercise. That was super with Mom and the ladies and gentlemen that were there. That was really a great thing because it was very engaging. They even had a wine tasting event when she was there, and played the old music that they enjoy. It was very nice. They try hard and they had other activities that were really nice. They had Sunday activities, and they even had people come in to do Bible studies with the residents, which I thought was excellent. The food was good. I liked it when I was there with my mom. I would take a bite of it and it was good. Her plate was so full that it was overwhelming to her. The fall just kind of overshadows a lot of stuff. They tried to keep the place clean, but it smelled bad. I think they can do better.

I can't even begin to rate this facility without my hands shaking and my whole body breaking out in a sweat. Without a doubt, the worst medical treatment faciity I have ever experienced, and I have been in quite a few over the last ten years while fighting cancer (still am). The food should not even be referred to as "food"... I have been here for temporary short term care for four days and it has been a total nightmare! For every lunch and every dinner for three and a half days I have been offered a plate consisting of very cold mashed potatos, some kind of greens and what I think is shredded turkey and gravy - I am not on a special diet - this is what I am being offered - EVERY LUNCH AND DINNER! Every breakfast has consisted of COLD scrambled eggs and some kind of blended up sausage that was way too salty for even me - who loves salt! Disgusting... And good luck getting your meds anywhere near on schedule even if they are supposed to be delivered to you on a prescribed regular and timely schedule, you can count on them apparently taking the extreme scenic long route with no explanation of how that happened. And be prepared to be disturbed all day and kept awake all night by patients' "alarm bells" that are both very loud and ignored for HOURS before someone just happens to flip them off...and don't make mistake of asking them to turn them off!!! You will be immediately put on their "list" and you are treated badly enough when NOT on the list! I am trying to keep my daughter and son-in-law from their planned visit here tonight as if they see and hear me like this, they will definitely make a scene. I plan on leaving here in the morning without benefit of being legally discharged, but I simply can't take one more minute here than is absolutely necessary. I will definitely need to arrange to go into another facility as I have just barely started physical therapy but I clearly cannot stay here anywhere NEAR the length of time needed for that. Such a shame as the only thing here worth anything are the therapists and their programs. And as if all this isn't bad enough, the place is under renovation and is not even aesthetically pleasing! Please don't make the extreme mistake of coming here...believe me, you will be SO SORRY!

Do not send your love ones there. Worst place to ever go to. The staff is very rude and don't care anything about the patients The place smells like straight piss and is very nasty. The rudeness comes from the top of the staff. Start with the administrator and come on down. Medication. Are not given on time, It has been late for hours and the staff answer to that was. We are busy or I don't work on this side. Regardless of what side you work on its our job to take care of the patients. Food is nasty. Worst place in the world to send any one. Need o be shut down by the Health Dept. All the good staff members that cared about the patients has quit

My friend recently spent four weeks in this facility, and with the exception of only a few staff members who tried hard to serve her well, she was treated very badly. When she arrived from the hospital, it took them an unreasonable time to start paying attention to her. She came with directions for pain medication which she did not receive until many hours after it was due. She often had difficulty calling a nurse for help, and when she complained, they were rude and dismissive. The discharge process was a nightmare. They abruptly sent her home alone to fend for herself, although her doctor said she wasn't capable. Two staff members had told her she would be given the remainder of the prescribed medicine to take home, but when the time came she was rudely told that sending her home with medicine was against their policy. She waited for hours in the lobby for wheelchair transport, only to be told by the driver who arrived that he couldn't accommodate her wheelchair. She was then told that she would have to find her own transport service, as she had already been discharged. Do not submit your loved ones to this unacceptable treatment facility!

Glenburnie Rehab Nursing, 1901 Libbie Ave in Richmond VA allowed my dad to Vomit Stool for hours after he complained of stomach pain. Had him signing Contracts, and Denied him treatment from a Hospital that is literally 4minutes away! Then he was found face down on floor of his room, in his own vomit, and we weren't notified. The link below has our story and News interview with CBS6. #WeWillNotBeSilent @Justice_4david https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=193621331454406&id=193017548181451

We had a really rough start at Glenburnie Rehab and Nursing Center, but we got all that straightened out after we complained. There was some trash and stuff on the floor, so they came and got that taken care of. Some of the staff people are very friendly and some are not. It appears that on the weekend, the nurses aren’t quite as friendly. As far as the aides go, I haven’t had any concerns about them. I think the food is pretty good.

The nursing staff members and the crew are awesome with my picky mother's attitude and ways of doing things! Thanks for the hardworking dietary and nursing staff I'm truly happy to have her in Glenburnie facility!

My mother was in Glenburnie. The nursing staff was my main problem. There was no communication between shifts, and the instructions we wanted weren’t communicated to the other shift. I was told that they don’t go by the doctor’s medication or the home medication. It doesn’t make sense. Her medication schedules were not followed.
