We have chosen Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall for my parents. It was a combination of reasons, but location was the key. It is really close to where my parents' home was, so that was one factor. The staff was really great. However, in terms of appearance, I would have chosen another place. My parents have not participated in activities. I saw them having a church service, and some residents were playing bingo.

We will be moving into Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. It's immaculate and pleasant. It's a warm feeling when you go in there. The staff is caring and very attentive to people's needs and what they offer and maintaining at least their level in memory care. They do fresh seafood. They have a market that they work with that grows their own stuff. Everybody was so nice and accommodating. It's a nice atmosphere there. They have an outdoor place with a gazebo, but there's no access to going all the way out. It's enclosed, but it's outdoors. The rooms are nice. The smell is wonderful. A lady took us on the tour, but other people who worked there came and interacted with us. They were so accommodating and welcoming. We haven't had any of the meals, but looking at the menu and considering that they get catch-of-the day seafood and farm-grown stuff, it sounds really good. They have all kinds of activities that they do to engage people with a diagnosis of dementia. It was amazing to me because I kind of went online and looked at other places and they were OK or acceptable, but here it's top-rated. I was very surprised to be able to have my first visit to such a great place.

I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. Erica showed us where to go and what we were looking for. They were very accommodating. We took a tour of the facility. We saw that the individuals were very happy. They have a community room. You can watch football. They have a lot of room and they have a full calendar of activities. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have a little kitchenette in some rooms.

I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. You could see that there was a really good rapport between the residents and the staff. It was a very small, close-knit staff and they cared about their residents. They had hydroponics, so they grew their own vegetables, which I thought was good. It was an older building and it was one big building, but it did not have a lot of extra facilities. I guess they had a courtyard, but that was about it. They had a little salon, and they had a multimedia room where the people would gather to do everything.

My mom moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. The experience has been really good. My mom seems happy, and things seem to be going well. The staff members are very, very nice. In fact, at all the Commonwealth facilities I visited, the people were really nice. They seem to really care about the residents. The rooms are spacious. The fact that they all have bathrooms makes it nice. The way they are laid out is good. Even if you have a companion, you still have your own space. We ate there, and the food was good. They have farm to table. They partner with different farmers, so they get a lot of fresh food, and that's important. They have lots of activities, and my mom enjoys quite a few. It seems to be working out very well for her right now. The facility is a little bit older, but it's well kept.

My mom is at Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. The intake nurses doing the information told me all about the facilities and everything. But once she got there, she didn't even stay the full time. I paid for more days than she stayed because things were starting to happen that she didn't like. Before she went there, I told them that she had to have someone take her up and put her on a commode if she had to use the bathroom because she couldn't walk at all. She said the nurse told her to just go ahead and have the bowel movement in the bed and that they would clean her up, but my mother is not used to that. So she stayed a few days, and after that happened, we just brought her back home. My mom didn't get involved in any activities. I saw the food that they bought her a couple of days, and the food looked OK, but it was always cold. She had to ask them to take it and put it in the microwave. She doesn't eat cold food. But the meals looked OK. I don't know what to say about the staff because if you're telling her to have bowel movement on her bed, then all I can say is that that's not good practice. When I went there, the person who I was doing the application with showed me a room, and in that room it had a little love seat and a little table and stuff like that. It was a nice little room, and I thought that's the way the room was going to look where my mom was going to be in. But when we got there with her, it was actually nothing but a bed in there. And I asked about the chairs because my mom would like to be taken up and sit in the chair, and they said, "Well, you have to bring those from home," but nobody told me anything like that. They just showed me a little nice set up room and gave me the impression that that was what the room was going to look like when I got her there. I paid them over $2,000 and I couldn't get any of my money back when we were dissatisfied, and my mom came home after a few days, so I wasn't happy with the deal. They told me that I would pay according to the level of care. My mother needed full care. She couldn't do her own bath and she had to have a.m. care and she had to be taken up to be put on a commode if she had to have a bowel movement, and she had to be changed. I explained to them that she was incontinent. So that's the reason I paid so much, because of the level of need she needed, but she wasn't given that level of care when they told her that they didn't have enough nurses to take her up and put her on the commode.

Concerns were brought to managements attention and the VP about issues and heard but continued to occurred and ignored. If you love the person that needs to be in a nursing center, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!

My husband has moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. I just liked the building itself, being it was an old hotel, and the rooms were big and nice. The staff was super nice and still they are very nice. I think he's getting better care there. They're nice and considerate. They're there to take care of you, not just because it's a job. They have bingo, movie time, karaoke. The one in charge of activities tried to get my husband to participate in something. Last week, he said, "You're going downstairs with me and we're going to do karaoke." Of course, my husband said, no. He ended up going down, and he had a good time.

My uncle is now in Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. It's been great. When you get in the facility, everybody's just really friendly, which I appreciate, because nowadays it's so hard to have somebody say "hi" or "hello" or even smile at you for that matter. Everybody is just smiling, and they all acknowledge the guests when they come in. My uncle is on the second floor, so I actually hang out by the rail and look around, and I do see that they all just wave at you. If somebody comes in, they all wave at the person. They know each patient by name, which is highly appreciated. I like that fact that they know their patients. They take time to talk to them. It's clean. I have not really seen anything that I would say that they do not keep their facility clean. It's clean. It's not far from the hospital. It's been great, and my uncle feels safe there. The staff members are really great. They call the patients by their first name. They're really kind. They take time to talk to the patients, and they make sure they're comfortable, too. If they're outside and somebody starts yelling help, they'll just barge in and help that person, which is good. I think the food is good, but my uncle who is not easily pleased with what he eats, so he tends to pick on it sometimes. I guess my uncle is just too picky when it comes to food. He has always been like that, so it doesn't really make us wonder why he started saying things like, "I don't like the food here," because we already know that he is just the pickiest person in the world. But I've tasted some of the food, and I feel like it's good. My uncle did not sign up for any activities; he is unable to do so. But I saw some of the residents, they have this church choir that goes in there, and then they listen to them perform. They have game days wherein they go down and then they play dominoes. It's fun to see them like they're dogging each other out. I saw a group of them were listening to Audible. They have a book club, and they listen to Audible. They have that monthly thing where they go in there and they just vent out what they want or what they want to change. It's not an open forum, but it's sort of like something to make the facility better. So those were the ones I've seen so far. The program director there makes it a point to where he can have everybody participate. He would make my uncle participate if he could, but he just can't.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall was very nice. They went out of their way. Their chef came out and talked to me as far as how they do a farm-to-table kind of meal plan with the seniors. He took a lot of time to explain that to me, so I was very impressed. It was an old renovated hotel. It still needs some updating, but it was very nice. They had apartments on the second and third floor. It was in a busier section of town, but it was close to Janaf Shopping Center and Military Circle Mall area. It was close to stores and things like that.

My mother moved into Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall. She's in memory care. Everybody was warm and friendly. I like the look of the place. It was bright and nice. The rooms were nice. It just seemed like a good fit. She said the food is good. They have all kinds of activities. I'm not there during activity time, but I know they have sewing, different crafts, they play with a ball, and they play with balloons. They just do all kinds of different things. Everybody was very friendly, came up to me, and introduced themselves. It's a nice place. I chose them over the other one because it was more open and airy and the sun shines. I just liked it better.

I loved Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall and this was where my sister was supposed to go. I looked at their respite in assisted living. Their rooms were beautiful and the staff was very nice, all of them, and they're caring. The place was clean, it was amazing. I would go there. It used to be a hotel, it has this gorgeous lobby three-stories high with glass ceilings that's like a dome, so there's beautiful natural light coming in. There's a grand piano, the rooms have floor to ceiling windows. It's just gorgeous.

1st problem is you don't a straight answer to anything. Promises are made and not followed through. I was talked to terrible and left crying. Nothing about this place is good to me. I was asked to do a review, and they stopped it from being posted. Would not recommend this place.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Leigh Hall was very nice. It was very down the earth. I liked everything about it. It's just farther away and not really accessible to shopping. I was impressed with it. The building was older, but it had a good, friendly feeling. They had activities. The rooms were nice and the people were nice. I felt like they cared about the people. I met some of the residents. When you walk in it, there's a big rectangular room. It's like an open floor plan. The apartments look out on the center of the facility. You can see people walking upstairs from the second floor. The staff was impressive.

I liked Leigh Hall Assisted Living. Everything was very nice, and I was struck by the fact that as we were touring the facility, the staff was very attentive to the residents. They were very friendly and were talking to them. It wasn’t like they were just going about their business. I didn’t try the food, but I did see the menu because it was posted. I like the fact that they didn’t stick to a particular time. They were very nice size rooms. Their activity room is like an atrium right in the middle. If you lived on the second floor, you could come out of your room and not even have to come downstairs if you didn’t want to. You could sit there and observe.

Leigh Hall had very nice rooms that were really spacious and well laid out. The chef was superb. During the time I went there, I saw that the residents were sleeping all the time. It felt it was like a nursing home more than an assisted living. They actually had a lot of activities, but there weren’t any that would appeal to my mother.

I visited Leigh Hall. It was nice, light, and airy, but some of the places were kind of dark. The rooms with little kitchenettes. The staff had a wonderful attitude and were a cheery bunch. However, I did not see the patients smiling that much. I thought it was lunch time when we were there, so I guess they were kind of hungry. I liked everything about it. It was convenient to where I lived and close to where my daughter lived. They had a library. The whole thing was nice.

Leigh Hall was right in the commercial area. It was a former hotel, so the first floor with the dining room included was very posh. The bedrooms were adequate but not great. The people we talked to were nice and doing a special event for the people that live there. They have a special event at least one every week. The downstairs facilities were very nice, including the dining room, the sitting rooms, and the library.

After a long year of trying to find the perfect place to move my grandmother, Leigh Hall was recommended twice in a 24 hour period. I made an appointment, met with Ilene Lipton, and chose Leigh Hall. Since making that decision, I have been so pleased with everyone and everything. They were very accommodating to my time line. This decision was thrust upon me but Leigh Hall as a whole has been a blessing! They continue to take great care of my grandmother. I don’t know what I would have done without everyone here! They have taken the worry out of my day and let me be more concerned with just visiting instead of caretaking.

We just stopped by Leigh Hall Assisted Living one day and a lady took us on a tour. It was nice. My sister really liked it, but it was just too expensive. They have two nurses on staff. They have private rooms and semi-private rooms. They had just remodeled the place. They have a van so if you want to go to church, they can take you to church and back. They can also take you shopping. They have a special time of the day where you can go in the activity room to watch TV, play games, read, etc. You get three meals a day. You can eat in the dining room or you can eat in your room. One thing I like best about this community is that it is close to my sister's church.

Leigh Hall was a nice looking facility. Maybe I just went the wrong time of day when maybe most of the residents were out shopping or doing some activity. And therefore the ones that weren't participating in an activity were just sitting around quietly. So it just looked kind of desolate and depressing. But the lady who gave me the tour, Vera, was extremely nice.
