I would like to give a shout out to my favorite coffee lady (Victoria brown) she always makes sure I get my coffee every morning and makes sure it’s hot. I enjoy her laughter everyday it’s my wake up call. Keep up the good work Vic and keep us laughing.

My Mom was in awful condition but was still sent there. She couldn’t hold her head up or feed herself. The nurses said she fed herself and was taking pills. She had done neither. Her kidneys stopped working and they allowed someone not on the list to get info to call ambulance and move her without authorization. It was a zoo. Most of the helpers had bad attitude. DO NOT TAKE A LOVED ONE THERE

The administration is awful. They don't answer the phone or return calls. They gave me incorrect information when the patient's insurance was changing to Medicare. I specifically asked if there would be any lapse in coverage. Due to their misinformation, I ended up owing $8000. Beware.

I have been trying for two days to contact this facility - phone is never answered and then it disconnects you after so many rings. Attempting to see if patient arrived at the facility. I previously took a tour of this facility and was not impressed with the facility nor the staff.

My dad will be moving into Hanover Health & Rehabilitation Center. The place is very clean. The staff is friendly. There are a few single rooms, but most of them share a room with another roommate. The exercise room is top-notch. They do have activities. They have several activities throughout the day and week, like games and people coming in. They have rooms where the family can come and visit with them.

I stayed in this facility short-term for Rehab. While hesitant to go to a “nursing home,” it didn’t feel like that since I was on short term wing. Call bells were answered faster than I had honestly expected. Shout out to CNAs Yolanda and Hailey who not only took great care of me but anticipated my needs and thought of the little things. I can’t say enough about OT Jenna and PT Cassie for their knowledge, creativity and patience.

went there last night, waited 10minutes in the cold nobody would answer the door. An employee was then leaving so I ducked in. I was trying to find my family member while the nurses ignored me in their station. This was my 1st time there. I was lost. Not one of the 5 ladies sitting there even acknowledged me. That was just so rude. I hope you take care of my family member better than you cared to assist me. I have read so many bad things about this place and its sad you have to leave your family member in their care.

This place should be shut down. My mother in law was a patient and I am going to do everything in my power to report this facility for how bad they neglect their patients. Don’t put your loved ones here I was appalled about her treatment. She went there with a broken hip and left with a broken knee not to mention how the nurses all leave their patients in crap filled diapers for hours to the point where my mother in law was scared to eat out of fear of nobody coming to change her. My experience coming and going was to see all of the nurses all standing around in circles talking while a lot of call buttons were going off and while at the facility I called the nurses station with a complaint and they lied and said someone was at her room and I was there and nobody came for almost 30 minutes the nurses absolutely don’t care about the people at all and the neglect goes to the extreme I hope everyone sees this and keep your loved ones away from here this place is disgusting and makes me wish I could get them shut down

I am not recommending Hanover Health and rehab Center for no one (not even a dog) , The staff is rude , incapable of taking care of a patient. The food is always cold , they don't meet the needs of patients if the patient is a diabetic they don't give them sweetn low , they give them sugar. A patient is supposed to have physical therapy , the patient has been there for 5 days and they have yet to them physical therapy , the patient also needs wound care they have done no wound care all they have done is unwrap the wound and wrapped it back up no medicine applied to the wound. The patient is diabetic and they are serving her rice potatoes bread (stuff that a diabetic shouldn't eat) . If you care about your loved one at all DO NOT PUT THEM IN HANOVER HEALTH AND REHAB! Another thing that has happened they take their time to come and check on a patient and they blame it on being short staffed , that is no excuse when it comes to caring for a patient who may need to be cleaned up because they are not able to take care of themselves .

I was admitted to rehab on a Tuesday, I was nervous about going when I got there no one greeted me. My night meds were not there so I was in tremendous pain I have chronic pain degenerative disc disorder spinal stenosis my 9 pm I got next day at 2 40 am . The nursing cna were rude when you rang bell it takes hours for them to answer I wet my brief and cna said you better learn had to do it your self. I was not to get out of bed. The food was ice cold , sheets were not changed ask after 5 day if they could be changed . They did wipe you when they changed had to ask if they would wipe. Visitors had trouble getting in girl at front said what do want, to husband and son , I never saw Dr but one time and np one time. Rehab was good Tate was excellent, Rebecca, Robert, Dan and Barbara. For short time I was there I learned alot. Some cna were excellent althea, dj, Elijah's. Tiffany Daniel the resident liason was good listener, Mary Jane in kitchen was good. Paula was a great nurse. But the facility I would not recommend I would check on your loved one to see if they are being cared for. The lab never used alcohol wipe just stuck with needle, ask to be wiped , medicine was given incorrect. Then I was told I'm taking someone else med Mary Jane in kitchen did make sure food was hot to me, you are suppose to get options for meals I never got options . I called the facility and the girl that answered on weekend did know employee then hung up on me. Please check on your love ones I have voice and I had to supervisor and Liason the whole time I was there I checked myself out. I don't recommend this place. I did not have a good experience at all. I'm glad to be home and have home health coming. Meds are 3 hours late, I was in private room so that was nice. I'm sure I left something out. Visitors had terrible time getting in on weekend my husband and son was greeted with what do you want, was told I was not in room when I was. I did not like my stay and checked my self out early.

Only had interactions with the activity staff, because of Covid , could not go to the rooms. You must make sure your love one has a cell phone....they do not have phones in the patients rooms. all in all Hanover Rehab has been great for my mom. She came in needing a lot of care! I thought was the end. But, Hanover has her walking, the best that a 99 year old can..but she wasn't walking at all when she got to Hanover. She is alert and talkative when we visit. I thank God for the health care personnel at Hanover !!

I would not even put my dog in this facility. No one ever answers the phone, you never get an update on your family member, my family member had many items stolen in rehab, there is a severe staffing shortage, they do not follow Covid mask protocol, they did not give my family member the proper meds ordered from the hospital which ended my family member in ICU. When calling to complain there is no Administrator. Save yourself the headache don’t go anywhere near this place.

Everything at Hanover Health & Rehabilitation Center looks and seems to be fine. I have no issues with the staff. It's a very nice facility and everything looked good. They do rehab and physical therapy with the residents. They have a lounge with a TV -- like a family room -- where you can go and sit. The layout was good and the place was clean.

I visited my family member from time to and it’s always during lunch time . I have seen in this building that is short in staffing especially when someone is eating there is not enough staff to help feed the people who need help. This is unacceptable the unit manager comes in at times and is very mean to her staff nursing I hear how she down talks to them and she is friendly with the short haired lady I believe her name Trish . They gossip while passing the food around and are very nasty to the people who serve the food . Down talking is unacceptable . Especially when family members are visiting and can hear everything and are in the lunch room.

The frustration experienced here as my dad was going through rehab was not just inadequate, it was absolutely scary. If it were just uncleanliness, late answering to the call button or bad food, it would be one thing. (And, yes those things were issues.) However, it is the the lack of monitoring of his oxygen for COPD, his weight changes for congestive heart failure, and the timing of medication administration that were life-threateningly incompetent. Even after expressing concerns with admissions, head nurses, and directors, no improvements occurred. As a matter of fact, a culture was not collected correctly therefore extending his stay longer than it was supposed to be. I write this review, not with the motive to complain, but for the safety and well being of others there who may not have the voice of a loved one to share the horrors of this facility. It is my prayer that additional and trained staff will be hired so that the needs of those in this place find the care they need and deserve.

I had my knee replaced and went here for rehab. The therapy staff was phenomenal (Robert, Matthew and Heather). The room was clean and they offered a nice variety of food. The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home and encouraged me daily and told me that I was progressing well. They were attentive to my needs and they were very accommodating to my family when they would come and visit. I am scheduled to have another knee replaced and I will be returning back here for rehab. There are so many staff members that made my staff enjoyable, there is no way I can name them all, but my sincere thanks to Danni (administrator) for coming to check on me when I was feeling low, Dellareese (social worker) for making my transition to home smooth, Q (CNA) for making it easier to ask for the help I so needed, and Tiffany (business office) for going the extra mile. I was unable to attend the grand reopening of the new gym, but I look forward to using the new equipment on my next visit. There is no place like home, but Hanover is a close second. Thank you all again for EVERYTHING!!

Hanover is a very impressive Center. I am surprised by some of the negative comments listed below. We have had nothing but a positive experience with the staff and care. I cannot remember the name of our CNA, but she always had a smile on her face and clearly loved her job. She took vested interest in us and was always checking on us. The center is also so clean. We toured a lot of different places in Richmond.

My loved one goes here and there have been problems from day one. The nurses are here just for the paycheck at the end of the week. They never give medication, while my loved one is in pain and it's 10 in the morning and medication has not been given nor has he/she been fed. They have given my loved one foods that is not suppose to be given and has not been changed hours on end. As my family makes sure people come in daily to make sure everything has been administered and things have been done; if no one were to come in my family member would not be given the proper attention that would be needed. Although some of the nurses are nice, there are plenty that are rude. I would not recommend this facility.

I have a dear friend who is a diabetic with cancer at this facility. I have been to visit and check on him everyday. the staff has been very accommodating and friendly. A BIG thank you to nurse Thiada and to Tasha who graciously returned my call to inform me of his blood sugar. I feel better knowing he is taken good care of and that an effort is made for the comfort of their patients. Thank you all for the work that you perform every day.

I have visited and already placed my father in a facility. He needed a facility to be rehabilitated. The name is Hanover Health & Rehabilitation Center. We chose it because it is conveniently located to my house. I like its convenience. He just got there today so we are still figuring the staff out. It is a nice facility. The grounds are clean and well-kept. They are fine.

I was a patient a Hanover on more then one occasion and I have nothing but excellent things to say about this facility. From the moment my family and I came into the building we were treated with kindness and respect! I feel that I needed to let everyone know how wonderful Hanover is and how caring, supportive, and understanding the staff is the rehab is also second to none it has a better more advanced and structured rehab then anywhere else in Richmond (in my opinion)!!

MFA's Facility of The Year

This facility definitely looks nice but the care is sub par. You would not know what really goes on unless you really pay attention and are there with your loved one at all times. I was afraid to leave my loved one there at night. Call bells don't get answered and medications don't get given on time and sometimes not even at all, doctors rarely see the patients. They claim that you are supposed to be seen within 48hrs, that's a lie, I don't even know if my love one was seen. Some of the staff is very friendly but they are some people there that are just collecting a pay check. MFA says that they are "patient centered" but I find this hard to believe. On top of the care being sub par they tried to hold my family member hostage. With the care that my mother was given she was better off at home with us being taken care of by people that could really give her the attention and care that she needed. Would not recommend this place except for the rehab experience.
