My friend moved into Harmony at Spring Hill. It's very pretty and clean. The staff that I've dealt with have been very attentive and helpful. There seems to be a lot of activities, like bingo and movies, typically twice a day. They have a little theater room and they pop popcorn and the residents request the movies. They take them out, like yesterday she got to go to WalMart. They take them to WalMart once a month and to the grocery store once a week. She has a studio room. It's small, but a little more than I thought it would be. It's pretty spacious. So far, she says the food has been good. The best part about this place is that she gets to bring her dog.

I liked Harmony at Spring Hill because it had a secured unit and I liked the professionalism of the marketing director. We tried their cookies, and they were good. The dining and common areas were very clean and spacious.

Harmony at Spring Hill was a very nice facility. It was very open, very clean, and very welcoming. I met with Lara. She was extremely friendly, very informative and had lots of energy. She spoke with residents while we were walking up and down the hallways, which was very nice and friendly, and the residents were friendly, too. She showed me the studio type of bedroom with the kitchen area, and then they also had adjoining bedrooms with a shared bath. I got to see where they eat, and it was nice. I saw the menu. The outside was beautiful. They have a calendar of activities. The rooms were a good size with very tall ceilings, a nice bath, and a closet. It's a newer building. I even spoke with the nurses, and they were wonderful.

I went to Harmony at Spring Hill. They were brand spanking new and shiny, so there's a lot of appeal for that. The staff who assisted me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I also went to the memory care place, and they had a group there that was gathered watching television. They had a couple of people outside sitting in the garden and people socializing as well. They have lots of activities in the assisted living area. They have transportation for medical, which is nice. The rooms were a little bit more spacious than some of the other ones because it's a new building.

My husband in the few months he was there had a fracture of his pelvis because he was able to escape from the memory care Unit where he was supposed to be under the care of the nurses, aids and people monitoring the supposed secure doors of the memory care department. Due to this he had a fall. He was given 1 X-ray and when it showed nothing that day due to swelling he was denied a second X-ray until his family insisted at which time a severe pelvic fracture was found. By the time the second x-ray was FINALLY done, my husband was in such pain and could not stand or bear weight. A man who was a happy man, who could walk without any assistive devices and could still participate in his own care, had not lost the ability to do most of it. After that he went downhill - developed bedsores because he was not being turned and cleaned from incontinence or bathed frequently. Can you imagine your loved one sitting in their own soiled brief for extreme long periods of time? How bout coming into visit your loved one only to see him slumped over with his head on the table and no one interacting with him? To see your loved one, in my case the love of my life for 40years being treated like he was not a person but a burden. The director of the community as well of the wellness director really not having a concern in the world for the man I love. Their only concern was how do we get this man out of our community that we harmed before we get in trouble. When questioned about this we were told that “the aids didn’t want to disturb him because he was sleeping He was falling constantly and instead of being picked up and looked over was instead immediately sent by ambulance to a nearby healthplex Some of these visits were scrapes which would bleed but have no damage to his body. We were told by the person in charge that we should be hiring “ sitters” to stay in his room to monitor him Please let that sink in- family is paying monthly to have him cared for but because it is inconvenient for the employees to do that- they want outside “sitters” to do it for them When it became clear that his care was too much for this facility to handle we were given 5 days to find a new place to move him. The Executive Director did not even schedule a meeting with us to discuss this, she just came outside with a binder and dropped it in front of us while I and some family were visiting my husband outside. By this point his wounds required a wound doctors attention and care. Wounds that were received by the lack of care provided by the facility. I was unaware of how bad they were until I asked for them to assist in showing me. I was so disillusioned and distraught when I saw how things were being run I was initially a cheerleader for Harmony The facility is beautiful and a lot of the employees are wonderful and truly care about the people But there is another side that you only see after being a part of it for awhile I was so trusting of the caretakers initially When all was said and done it was like a sad story with a bad ending My husband passed not long after as they sent him out to the hospital the same day they told us to look for another facility due to a medical emergency. They waited until we left to go look at other communities when they sent him out to the hospital. I know the state of Virginia has been notified and I am told an investigation is ongoing I do not know if that is a fact because we were out of there before that supposedly started I know they are short staffed and I hope they are doing their best but that was not the case with my husband He had many visitors coming and going and there were comments being made as things got worse I adored so many of the residents in there and miss seeing them This is a story I never thought I would have to tell Please spend time with your family and keep them safe I do not blame every employee there and I loved so many of them. My husband loved so many of the people there and I am glad he was able to enjoy activities with them before his health worsened. I miss my husband terribly! Stay Safe!

Harmony at Spring Hill was nice. It was a nice tour. The person who gave us the tour seemed very well versed in the community. They, too, had a calendar, so they have different events going on every single day. For example, today is a National Philanthropic Day, so they're starting with devotionals and hymns and doing daily chronicles. They're playing cornhole. They have creative crafts, Hello Fall craft thing that they're doing. Then they're playing bingo this afternoon. Wednesday is Homemade Bread Day. Thursday is World Philosophy Day, so they have different days every day. They had a library. The best thing that they had that no one else had, they had a movie theater room. They watch all kinds of movies in the movie theater and they do a virtual tour, so they go to different places and they dress up like the place that they're going to go. They're watching travel videos from Hawaii and everybody comes in with leis and they do the belly dancing and all of that stuff. My mom liked that, but she was concerned about the fact that there was no diversity there. It was 98% women and it was 98% Caucasian. Their facility was very nice. It was modern. They built it in 2018, so it's up-to-date. They're building a shopping mall right across the street from them.

We selected Harmony at Spring Hill for Mom. It's about equal distance from my brother and myself. He lives in Fairfax, I live in Kingstown, so it's very accessible. They've got a gated entryway, so they're very secure. One thing that we liked is that there's a new director of sales there, and she was very proactive in getting us to consider that my mom would be better in assisted than memory. We have been looking at primarily memory care because of her cognitive state. She said, "No, we think based on our assessment, she would do excellent in assisted," which would be less restrictive and allow her to be more active, and allow her to participate in activities. They invited both my mom and myself for lunch, and they had a chance to talk to her, and Mom got to visit and share her stories. Mom actually got to visit with some of the residents, which was pretty important. It was an opportunity to see how they felt about Harmony, see what are some of the things that they liked, and the fact that they liked the activities. They had good dining options and good medical professionals there with physical therapy, and primary care, and a podiatrist. It was nice to be able to visit with them in person with my mom there, and I liked that they had a good range of activities for seniors her age and her cognitive abilities. They had a nurse come to our house to do a cognitive assessment, and based on that, they determined the level of care. They gave us a wonderful incentive. They gave us a rate lock that was good for April. We signed a lease in April and we were able to lock in her room rate, which is a very nice studio room for as long as she's there, so we will not be paying an increased room rate every year. Normally, they have a 5-7 percent increase in that fee. Because my mom has a five-year policy, this gives us an insurance that after that, she's still there after the policy ends, that we will only be paying that fixed price for her room. They also made the first month $99, so they basically gave us the first month for free. Every time we spoke with them, they basically gave us a little bit better pricing, which told me they wanted Mom to be part of their community, and they really wanted to convince us that they were the right place. So, we made that decision, and we signed a lease, and we selected a room for her. Now, it's just a matter of getting the administrative things taken care of prior to her move-in. I liked their security, too, you can't just go in. You have to buzz through a gate to allow your car to go through before you can even get to the front door.

Harmony at Spring Hill was brand new and more like a resort. Everything was perfect and clean, and the building was brand new. I just didn't click too much with the people. I found them a little pushy and more like they were selling something. It's a beautiful place, but their prices were very confusing. I would like for them to give me one fee so I don't have to sit down and calculate how many times they change my loved one. I'm not patient with those things, so it could be my problem, not them. The different prices are very confusing. I didn't interact with the actual staff; we interacted with their marketing people. I wasn't impressed with them because they were pushy and trying to sell us rather than listening to what we were trying to say, which I understand because they're new, and they apparently had open spaces. If I took my loved one with dementia, I would find it confusing for them, but if I were to go or needed to live somewhere like that, I'd give them a "five." They mix different groups, so it is hard to separate them.

I went to Harmony at Spring Hill. They're more expensive than the other place we looked at, but the staff was good, professional, and knowledgeable. The grounds were really nice, and the layout was nice. It's a gated community, and I liked that. They had a barbershop. The building was really nice. It felt like a hospital or a senior home setting, but it was clean and smelled good.

We have signed the lease to move my aunt and uncle into Harmony at Spring Hill; we are setting up furniture and everything to get ready for them. I went with them to look at the place. The staff is very friendly, we came a few times, and we know them more now, and in just a few days, they knew us. It's just like home and family. The sales rep is very friendly, very helpful, and responsive. It's very nice and clean, the apartment is larger than the other place that we visited, they have two-bedroom, two-baths, which was what they needed. It's kind of neat too, so everything was nice. One of the factors that made us decide on this besides the apartment itself was the money. They have a special for veterans they called the veterans package. They gave discounts on the rent, community fees, and they have a lot of financial incentives that make the rate much lower than others.

We have visited Harmony at Spring Hill and my father is in there now. We are very happy with Harmony at Spring Hill. The meals are very nice. He has been in isolation, which is required for the first two weeks, but it looks nice. His apartment is beautiful. The facilities are very nice and the value for money is very nice. The area looks nice, but he can't take advantage of it. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood.

The Crossings at Spring Hill is excellent. It's a very fine and awesome facility. It's very clean, friendly, well-kept, and just the place where I see my mother living. They keep people very active and they incorporate the community that surrounds them. The staff member who showed me around was very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent.
