We toured Lansdowne Heights Located in Leesburg Virginia. The people there were not happy. The employees did not communicate with us much. They did not seem like they were happy, and the facility smelled bad. The bathroom that I visited was not very clean. The facility, it's figure-eight shaped, is very institutional with big, heavy doors, and not a lot of smaller private spaces. You're either in the big common room or you're in someone's bedroom. The courtyards were sterile with no shade. The cushions on the seating in the outdoor area were moldy. So clearly they never use it. They never go out there.

This facility exceeded my expectations from the moment I walked in. The receptionist greeted us by name and checked us in by taking our temperature and going through a series of questions. While visiting the community, we met various team members along the way and all of them took the time to greet us and share more about what they do at the community. The dining director impressed us as he has come up with a bite size option for their menu as an alternative for those residents who lose the ability to feed themselves later in life. I loved this idea for our mom as we want to make sure she maintains as much as her independence as possible. I highly recommend visiting this community and seeing all they have to offer!
