We are residents of Verena at the Glen. It's a wonderful place, it has all kinds of activities and very friendly people. The apartments are beautiful. It's just everything's good. It's great. They have a wonderful dining room. They have people to entertain and special dinners. The people who work here are so nice to work with. We eat two meals a day, breakfast, and lunch. They have lots of activities that have food served there as snacks, and they have a 4:00 cocktail hour where they have treats and cocktails. They cut the grass twice a week. Everything is manicured. They keep the cleanest place you've ever seen. They're worth what they charge, but it's just too expensive for me. Not because they're not a value, it's just because I think that they could lower it some and it would help a lot of seniors out.

Verena at the Glen was very nice. Inside the unit that I went to, I found it very accommodating. Kevin took me around and he was very nice and very informative about taking me around and showing me things. He did a very good job.

I went to Verena at the Glen and I was very, very impressed with the outer appearance of the building, also when we stepped inside. The reception area was absolutely lovely. We met one or two members of the staff, both of whom were very friendly, very welcoming, and warm. The apartment was absolutely lovely. They had staged it and it looked just beautiful. The entryway is very, very nice, and is somewhat separated. So, you kind of have an entrance area and then you move into the kitchen, which is beautiful, with a granite island in the middle, and then you go off into the living room. Then on the other side is the bedroom and the bathroom.

Big turn over in staff. Food options poor. No sit down service for meals, have to go through a line . Few outside trips and entertainment is poor.

Verena at the Glen was very nice compared to other places. It's well laid out. I visited another place that was kind of upscale and Verana at the Glen was along the lines and they had a special going that was attractive as well. The staff that did the tour was excellent, very nice, and informative. The apartment has everything I needed. It's got a full kitchen and a pretty nice open area with a countertop. It's going to be nice to work in that kitchen because there's lots of shelf space and lots of room to be able to live the way I want to live. The dining area was very nice and very elegant, too. They have a variety of activities like card games, things like bingo, and exercise classes. It's a wide range of offerings that would be appealing to a lot of people who are looking for that. To me, what's important is that they have onsite physical therapy.

Verena at the Glen was a little bit better, they had almost everything that you had at the other places, with the exception that the prices were much more in line. The staff was very good, very cooperative, very concerned with everybody having seen what they wanted to see, and they just went out of their way to help you. They showed us all the facilities, the library, meeting rooms, and living rooms. They were having a community meeting when we were there, and everybody seemed to participate in that.

We liked the Verena at the Glen. Mother liked the feel of the openness when she walked in, the welcoming feeling, and she did like the size of the apartments. She liked that they had a full kitchen and had a washer and dryer in her apartment. A big thing was the activities, because she's still very active. So those things were the things that were really important to her, and it was just a great time and a great tour. They do off site excursions, things like that, and they do many activities like puzzles, crochet, knitting, like she does all of that, and that she could also still continue with her exercise program, all the things that they had to offer that are available. They do allow for them to come and go just like it would be your own apartment in an apartment building. They have a lot of common areas and rooms for them to do things.

We toured Verena at the Glen. The appearance was nice. You have to judge a lot of things by how you feel when you go in. We did not have a good feeling. The tour took about, maybe 20 minutes; it's that long. The lady was a young woman. She was friendly enough, but I didn't get a good feeling from that place. We didn't like it. We toured an apartment, and it was OK. The accommodations were OK. We just didn't get a good feeling there at all. My husband didn't like it either. The facility looks nice. It was clean, and there's nothing wrong with the facility

We like Verena at the Glen, especially the two-bedroom, two-bath, and very updated kitchen. If we went that route, this is where we would have gone. The staff that did the tour with us was superior. We saw like five people playing bridge, and then we saw another older gentleman doing a puzzle. The staff was very gracious and very good. I met the woman who runs her show at the Glen. She came over and chatted with us. She was delightful, too. We had a very good impression of the place. The one drawback is that it's about 25 minutes from where my son and daughter live. It's important to us that it's close by. There were probably three or four maintenance-type people that were very courteous and very busy. The place was spotless. They have two meals a day. It's breakfast and lunch, but lunch is similar to dinner. It was explained to us that a lot of residents have a light lunch, then pack up whatever's left, and they have that for dinner. That would work for us. The apartment was outstanding and very comfortable. It was a model, but it wasn't overcrowded with furniture or anything like that. I think it had a fireplace. The bathrooms were spotless. It was a two-bedroom and two-bath. It's the best I've seen in any apartment I've ever looked at.

We went to Verena at the Glen. They were very nice, but my parents prefer assisted living. They say you can bring in your own help, but that's not really what we were looking for. I liked it a lot. If that's what we were looking for, I think that would've been really a nice place. The staff member was very helpful. She took me to half a dozen or so units to look at, different one-bedroom, two-bedroom, one bathroom, two bathrooms. They said there were activities, but I didn't really ask too much. It was really nice.

We are moving my friend today to Verena at the Glen. We like the size of the apartment and the layout. It's the largest and the most cost effective that we found, it has supportive wraparound services that are available, and we like the common areas. We would have hoped for three meals a day, but they provide two, so that's OK. They worked very hard with me, and they did some things that were very helpful to the process. They have a beauty salon, activity rooms, men's club, a movie area, and an outdoor area in the summertime for walking and things like that around the grounds.

My mother lives here and is quite happy. It's a different story for my husband and I; when we travel the 6 hours up from the N.C. coast, we'd like to spend at least two nights - sometimes to bring my mom back to Vareena after staying with us a while, other times to make a visit there to see her. It's most convenient to stay in the guest "suite" at Vareena, when it's available. However, we've stayed three times now and the problems are not resolved. Would like to enclose pics of the last tiny bedroom in the 2-bedroom suite made available to us; they locked off the main bedroom. Two people couldn't possibly sleep on the less-than-full-size lumpy mattress. The ultra-slender (and too short) daybed stuck in the room at the foot of the bed couldn't sleep anyone but a child comfortably. It also had a very large pee stain on it -- as visible as day! There were no sheets to put on the daybed or couch (which I ended up sleeping on). When we asked for sheets, no one could find any. For this accommodation, we paid a hefty $125 per night - $250 for two nights, and got very little sleep. Plenty of drinks and snacks in the fridge, but no real place to sleep. We complained, but they made no concessions -- such as returning a portion of our payment, which would have been appropriate.

Verena at the Glen is a beautiful and very clean community. They seem to be very updated on everything they showed me and it seems like a good match. They put new carpet and appliances in the apartment I will be moving into and painted it. It looks really good. They provide buses for doctor's appointments and other activities, a big dining area for breakfasts and lunches, a TV room, big movie room, and a room for when they bring in speakers. The staff is excellent and have been really helpful. They have a recreation director as well.

Verena at the Glen is OK. The staff members are very friendly and very nice. The residents that we met there were nice; they seemed to be satisfied. The apartment that we chose is nice enough. We chose Verena mainly because of its location. It is convenient to everything. It is also convenient to our children.

Verena at the Glen was a nice facility, and the reception was good, but I was just exploring some options. There was a theater room, transportation, and everything was inclusive. There were activities for seniors to get involved in. The staff was very pleasant, receptive, and they presented themselves well.

Verena at the Glen was an excellent facility. They only have two meals a day versus three. It's 25 miles away from where we live and it's even farther from our children. The rooms may be a little bit larger than the ones at the other place we saw, and everything, including all the amenities and food, seemed to be excellent. They had a pool table, a recreation area, and an exercise area, which is very limited due to safety issues. Everything we saw, including the staff was wonderful. Several of them, when we were having our meal, came up and introduced themselves and told us their jobs. They seemed very cordial.

Cadence at the Glen had a great exercise room that I'm interested in. I was also interested in the two smaller single bedrooms. I sized them up and found that even the smallest of the single bedrooms was quite spacious and I could certainly be comfortable in that amount of space. I was very satisfied with it. The young woman who took me around did a good job, so I was very happy and pleased. The meal I had there was good. The location is excellent. It has outdoor access, facilities, and it has good parking. The buildings, rooms, and common areas are excellent.

Verena turned out to be the best facility for my mother-in-law. The units are up to date and comfortable, the staff is excellent, and the food is very good. She has dietary issues and they have worked with her to come up with dishes that she can eat. Although her children did a lot of the research, the decision to live at Verena was hers - and I think she agrees that she made a good choice.

Verena Lifestyle Residences is located a safe distance from a very busy highway, surrounded by beautiful forest in a very serene setting. At the footstep of their driveway entrance, every imaginable shopping center, every restaurant, grocery stores, and medical facilities right at your doorstep. It's a 4-storey building with exquisite dining hall in the middle, first-class linen tablecloths, waitresses all in uniforms, multiple entrees at each meal, made to order food if you want. Salads, soup of the day, and three to four desserts. Everything is tailored to the person's medical conditions, diabetic diet, low-salt, low-carb, whatever. They have one or two bedroom units, granite countertops, full kitchens, every appliance needed for them to do their own cooking, but the price of the unit includes the meals. They have a doctor that comes once a week to check blood pressure and check hearing. Life alerts are mandatory to wear that's included in the price, as well as a maid service that comes in change sheets once a month and vacuum weekly. They have a fitness center and shopping days. Everything was 5-star as far as I'm concern. I just wish the units more of them had easier accessible walk-in showers. Most of them have tubs. They should all be showers with bars and seats in them.

The people at Verena are friendly and willing to go the extra mile. It didn't take the staff any time at all to know our names - and my in-laws have a large family! They have had special events on occasions like St. Patrick's Day. The food has been great when I have eaten there. The staff keep track of things, which gives us an extra leve of comfort. There are so many activities to do for residents. It's bright and cheerful all throughout. I wouldn't mind living here!
