My mom is at Runk & Pratt of Forest for memory care. The layout is very nice and very clean. I love the sensory room they have for them and all the little activities they can do. There's calming music in there. They got walls painted like an underground ocean, it's very, very nice. My mom has only been there for a month now, but so far everything is going fine. She had a couple of little bumps there. She fell out of a wheelchair last Saturday morning, but they called me right away. Her glasses kind of scratched her nose, and that would be it. When they change her medicines or up her medicine dosages, they're very good about calling and letting me know. The staff has been nice. But like everybody else, they are a little shorthanded at the moment. With food, my mom wasn't eating much when she went there, but now she has gained a little weight. With activities, they do a lot of hands-on things. They have singing groups coming in and different things like that.

We toured Runk & Pratt of Forest. It looked a little bit older, not a state of the art, but it was a homey place. The rooms they showed were just kind of blank rooms. There was no furniture or anything in them. They had a nice courtyard in the center of it where they had some garden area.

My father is in Runk & Pratt of Forest. The care is good. He hasn't been there that long and he's still getting used to the place. He has a nice private room, and there's plenty of space. Being memory care, I think they have what they need. They have a room that's dedicated to lights and sounds and things like that. It's kind of like a stimulus room for them; it's pretty neat. It's secured, and it's clean. They will call me if they need something and I call them. I know who to talk to now and they let me know how he is doing.

Runk & Pratt of Forest was clean, very modern, and very nice. The only thing that prohibited us was the distance. The tour was real nice, and the lady who gave us the tour went out of her way on a Saturday. It had more of a city atmosphere, so when you look out of your window you see fast food restaurants as opposed to trees and mountains like you would at Bedford. The inside was wonderful with big hallways and big rooms.

Love seeing the staff and families spending quality time with these residents. Even though this is a memory care facility, the residents never forget some of their favorite songs and childhood favorites. It's awesome seeing them join in the activities and singing along and enjoying a community designed especially for them. This place has a sensory room to help naturally calm them and slow down the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia. Oh, and if you haven't seen the bell choir perform, you should...adorable!
