My mom is at Journeys Crossing Assisted Living. It is affordable, and the care is high-quality. The staff seemed fine and professional. The food seems fine, too. They do have some activities, but I can't remember what they were. It looks like a Victorian home. It is also clean and well-kept.

I selected Journeys Crossing Assisted Living. The rooms are sizable even for a double occupancy, so you don't feel like you're in each other's way. The patients seem very free for where they're at; it's pleasant. It's just nice. The workers seem very happy and everything just seems right, so I'm happy. It didn't take very much to make a decision. It just fit my criteria. It's very, very nice, very clean. They had grounds that you could walk on. It's homey. It's only about a half hour from where I live now. The staff member was very pleasant. She was the activity director, and she was very nice, very pleasant, and showed me everything. When I needed to sit down, she got me a chair for it. I can't walk very fast or very far. They were great. It looks like a southern mansion. There were about forty people there, they had quite a few wings. They were playing bingo when I went through, and they were in the dining area.

I checked Journeys Crossing Assisted Living out, but it was too high and my sister couldn't afford it. I loved it. The staff seemed very interested in taking care of the residents. They were putting the residents' health and safety first. It was a very clean place. I couldn't ask for a better place really, but she couldn't afford it.

I picked Journeys Crossing. The nurses are really nice, friendly, helpful, and take good care of everybody. The rooms are really nice, and I have a good bed. I get to my appointments OK. There are several restaurants and dollar stores around and downtown Elkton. The food’s really good, and I can get seconds and thirds if I want. The dining area is big and really nice. I can talk with residents anytime, and the people are really nice here. It’s like a back-home country setting. I can’t complain. I’d recommend this place to others in a heartbeat.

I chose Journey's Crossing for my mother and my aunt to stay in because when I went there and sat down with the administrator and she showed me the facility and I pick-up on the fact that they were what I was looking for. They were caring and accommodating. They offered me many things that other communities that I visited were not willing to work with. They always gave me discounts. Every time I told them about something, they told me they would bring it down to this and they would bring it down to that and finally, when we put them in, the price came down to less than what they originally had told me. It was in a small town and it's charming. The staff were very sweet with the elders. They were more like their daughters to them. The other things that I liked was that this home was more of like a Victorian home and it had it's charm and although it doesn't have bars, it had securities in it that any doors that opened an alarm goes off. They seemed to be a hotel in contrast to where they were before where there were bars and they felt like prisoners. They could walk around freely. She'd made friends there. It was more like family environment. I wasn't able to taste the food, but they seemed to like it, my mom doesn't leave anything on the plate. They had no complaints there. They actually had activities and couple of times we walked around there and they were playing bingo.
