We are using Adult Day Center at Lucy Corr Village ADC. My mom is at the Lucy Corr because that's the closest one to our home. This is like her third week. Two days a week she goes there. They have art activities. She hasn't gone on any outings, but they do that also. They have different activities like drawing, arts and puzzles, things to stimulate their mind, and games. Then, of course, they have the moments where they watch TV. She has brought home some art projects that they've done there. At some point, those that want to participate, have Bible study. There are different activities that she works with as far as her mind is concerned because she has mild to moderate dementia. Right now, that was the closest one to us, and it works out for me because I work in Richmond, so that was a good thing to be able to drop her off and then pick her up when I get off from work. They're pretty stationary right now. As far as taking them out, they haven't done that. But my mom seems to enjoy herself in talking to the people that are there. It looks like it's starting to pick up because when she started, there were only 6 people and now they have 11. The people that I've met have been very nice. She has breakfast, lunch, and then two snacks before I pick her up. She gets there about 8:00 in the morning and I pick her up at about 4:15. As for the food, Mom says there are good days and bad days. Of all the areas that I've been to, it's been very clean and comfortable, and I've only been in the daycare center, I don't think they have them go anywhere into the assisted living or the nursing area. They're like right off from a patio, where people can go outside and sit in a garden. The security is very good, so they can't go anywhere else.

The tour at Lucy Corr Village ADC was good. The facility was good, starting with the salesperson. She was very good and knowledgeable. She was very receptive and a good listener. She would repeat what we had to ask, and she would often refer back to them. She was a good listener in the sense that she listened to how many kids they had, where they were living, and things of that nature. She was very personable, so she was very good at that part. They had some amenities, such as exercise area and a beauty shop. They don't have a pool or anything like that. They have transportation to various appointments, and they take their clientele to grocery stores and things of that nature. We saw both apartments that were connected to the main building and cottages as well.

I am the Care Provider for an 82 year old woman with dementia. She has been a friend of our families for 43 years, and has come to live with us. We started taking her a couple days a week to the Daycare facility at Lucy Corr and can't speak more highly of the entire facility from the Dana that heads the staff, to the other woman that work there and treat these individuals as their own loved ones. The keep them stimulated with various activities, and events. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone that wants to have a little help with their loved ones during the day, but aren't ready to entertain the idea of a full time facility! KUDOS to you wonderful ladies! Theresa Waldron

The adult day center is centered around the needs of the staff instead of the needs of the loved one. Director is loud and aggressive if your loved one does not follow their rules. Staff is selfcentered

Lucy Corr Village is a bigger facility. I didn’t like it because it felt institutionalized and I wanted a small facility, but the staff were friendly when I went there.

My father was Lucy Corr for 3 years following a debilitating stroke. He received outstanding care, was always clean and during that time, never had a bed sore! I highly recommend it!

I would not recommend this facility. We did not have a very pleasant experience with a family member that was attending. I had heard some things throughout the community but figured we would give it a try to see for ourselves. Please do not put your love one there.

What an awesome place. My Mom goes several days a week and the staff is Caring, responsible and compassionate. The schedule allows time for group activities and quiet time.Food is awesome. Mom has really enjoyed meeting new friends. I am so grateful for what they offer
