My parents moved to Homestead Senior Living. I try to stop by there unexpectedly and uninvited any time of the day, sometimes in the evening, and I have never met a staff member that I feel like they wish they were working somewhere else. Every single person cares. They take their jobs seriously and they are very obviously focused on the residents' welfare. The food has been great. There's a decent variety. They're limited by what is decided from the main headquarters, but it's good food. It's fresh, nutritious, and always plentiful. It's not gourmet, but it's good home cooked food. They have many indoor spaces with a few pianos and lots of very comfortable seating areas. In the outdoor spaces, they've got a beautiful porch on the front where you can see the whole lake from it. So, there are beautiful views of sunset. They have lots of activities scheduled. They're still kind of working on some new activities, but they have exercise every morning at 10:30 if you want to participate, and my parents have been participating. Then they have little parties and gatherings, things to pull the community together. It's not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

My father has moved into Homestead Senior Living. I like the staff, and it's a nice place. There's nothing I don't like about it. The staff has been excellent so far. It's all very nicely maintained and nicely built. We've had a Christmas party. He's only been there one day, but they have activities every day. They have a board where they're listed.

Homestead Senior Living was very nice. I did get a chance to see several of the staff members and they were very nice and seemed to be very accommodating. There was a lady in the reading room who was doing a puzzle, and they had a nice little library there. There was a gentleman out on the front porch that day and he was reading. It was a very nice facility and very clean. It would be a nice place to retire in. I looked at 2 of the smaller units and they were ample in size. They didn't have washers and dryers inside the units, but they did have service people who went in once a week and took care of your laundry and did the cleaning. So, they had a nice setup for that. We talked about that facility and we talked about the care that they had for the tenants, and they had everything set up pretty well. They were located fairly close to the hospital.

Homestead Senior Living was clean and pleasant, and nicely decorated. The facility seemed very nice and lovely, and it was a bit more rural than the others. It was nicely decorated. It was more at the edge of town, so it was kind of a pretty setting. Some of the rooms had lake views. However, it did not meet our needs because the residents there seemed like they needed less care than what we were looking for.

We toured Homestead Senior Living. They do not take Medicare. However, they were very friendly and helpful, and they showed us the whole place. The rooms were very similar in style and size to the other place we visited. They have studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. We saw the gathering rooms and the dining room. We just saw the common areas where people gather.

The thing I like least about Homestead Senior Living was I felt like the staffing level was low, I didn't see much staff around. Granted, it was a weekend and it was somewhat early in the morning, but it just seemed like it was low. And I also didn't see many residents outside of their rooms, it seemed like everybody was kind of in the rooms and not much was going on. They had studios available and we looked at two of them, and the rooms were fine. They have a Standard and they have what they call a Premier, which is a little bigger. The actual studios were a fairly good size, and I felt like the premiere studio is a very good size, maybe twice as big as the standard one. It also carries into the bathroom and there's an extra closet in the bathroom for storage as well. When I asked the director about the staffing, she also wished that they could have more staff. I would describe the person who gave the tour as being honest, which was nice. I felt like she was good, I'm a salesperson and I felt like she was a skilled salesperson. But if I asked her questions, I felt like she answered them honestly, and I haven't felt like that on all the tours, so I did appreciate that.

Homestead Senior Living was clean. It's a nice building. The size of the rooms seemed reasonable. They were a little bit bigger than the room I viewed at the other place. The staff was very welcoming. They have a salon, a dining area, seating outside like a little gazebo where you could go and visit, a reading room, and a small movie theater.
