Holiday House Residential Care Home is a wonderful and caring community. They took wonderful care of my grandmother. I found it to always be clean and the staff to be excellent. It is also locally owned and operated. They are associated with have Franklin County Rehab Center which is also a great place. My family visited Franklin County Rehab for a short term rehabilitation stay as well and loved the care there too. However, she wanted to come back to her home Holiday House. Holiday House has recently done a lot of renovations to the building including Resident Rooms, Common Areas and bathrooms, and office areas. It is really beautiful and a great place to have your loved one cared for.

This was a nice enough place, but it did look a little "tired". Two of the other facilities we visited had recently renovated, so maybe it isn't fair to compare it in that way. Don't get me wrong, the place was clean and I didn't notice any holes in the furniture or big spots on the carpets. It just wasn't as fashionable as the other renovated homes. The entrance was more like walking into a living room of a house as opposed to the lobby of a business. There was a fairly prominent odor of urine as we entered the home, which was not very pleasant, but even one of the renovated places had that smell as well. The residents that we saw there looked to be content and they smiled and said "hello" as we walked through the place. The staff seemed quite pleasant and knowledgeable. I was expecting to see more arts and crafts made by the residents on display, as was the case of one of the other facilities. Overall, it was a pleasant place and would have been my second choice of facilities.
