My father moved to Harbor Village Senior Communities. We like its inclusiveness, their attention to care, cleanliness, and good food. There's a lot of food choices and they're healthy and delicious. It's quality care and personalized. Some of the nurses have been there over 20 years. They have many amenities. They have PT, OT, and speech therapy. They provide three meals a day, house cleaning, laundry services, WiFi, and cable TV. Everything's included.

I toured Harbor Village Senior Communities. When I walked in, it was so very closed in. The people I encountered who lived there were a little bit more withdrawn. They didn't look as happy as the people in the other community I went to. What I noticed immediately was the overwhelming scent of a glade air freshener, like it was so intense, it was cloying. I had a hard time breathing through it. I only spoke with 1 or 2 people. One of them I liked very much. The coordinator, I liked her a lot. It was raining on the day I went. I was like, "Do you have a place to put my coat?" This other lady said, "You can probably put it in there." It wasn't like people were coming to visit and we're going to give you a Gold Star service. I asked how much fresh food, and she said, "To be honest, it's mostly Sysco." They do get some donations. They did have fresh flowers on the table. So, that was nice because Trader Joe's shares what they're not going to sell. They brought them in there, so that was nice. Their rooms are quite nice, very similar to the rooms at the other community I went to, however, there was that cloying smell of air freshener. The upkeep and maintenance were okay. I went with the amount of air freshener, and it made me feel like, "What are they covering up?"

Harbor Village Senior Communities is too much money for me right now. However, I like that place. They try to get to know what your needs are before you take a tour. After you go through the process of assessing what kind of needs you have, then they give you a tour of the facility itself, which has two parts. One part is for assisted living and the other part is for just senior living. We went to the senior living, and the apartments are very spacious. They have a nice little deck. They're way bigger than I expected. They told me that I could get one meal a day, I could get help going places, and I could join in activities like puzzles and painting and other ways to meet people. They have a community room for people to gather. They have a room for exercise, so you don't even have to go anywhere. The woman who gave the tour was incredibly nice. I really can't say enough good things about her. She was so nice. I wanted to be her friend, that's how nice she was. She just understood what I needed because she had some challenges herself, and I appreciated the way she approached it with me. You can get apartments that are furnished if you want. They have refrigerators and stoves. They have a small kitchen in one area and a large, spacious living room area. They have doors that go into the walls so that when you open them, they're not leaning out into the room. They go into the wall, and it makes the room even more spacious. There are lots of lights and gardening places. There are so many things there. It was quite a nice facility. I was surprised. They showed us the dining area. They got medium-sized tables set up very nicely like a restaurant would have. There was no one eating when I was there. But you are allowed to have one meal a day, so you can pick whatever meal you want. They have menus around, and they keep you informed on what they do have going on every day in a mailbox. The staff knew everyone's name that we passed. It was like this woman knows all these people pretty well, and they all seem very happy to see her. And I didn't see anybody looking sad, so that was a good thing. The building was super clean.

We went to look at Harbor Village Senior Communities. We like the location, the price, and the general setup of the apartments. The facility looks very nice, clean, and organized. The unit that I went into, which was just moved out of, was nicely set up for one person or two, probably. The common areas, dining area, TV room, and activity room were nice. The menu looks very nice and has a very wide selection. The person I met with was super helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly.

We toured Harbor Village Senior Communities, and that one was really nice. There were two buildings, and in the building that was less expensive, the common area wasn't as nice, so it wasn't conducive to gathering. But the main building, which was a little bit of a walk away, was much better. I thought the staff was great. The person who showed us around was great. The people that took care of us while we had our meal were great. So, everyone that we ran into was very pleasant and helpful. The room was great. I loved the layout. They showed us a couple of rooms and they were different. The rooms were nice. They were spacious. They had all the amenities that my dad would want and need. They would take his dog, which was important to him. I remember thinking the food was good, and my dad enjoyed it too. The dining area was clean and set up for groups of people, and then there were some people sitting by themselves, but there was plenty of space. It wasn't too crowded. It was comfortable. The facility was very clean. I'd give it a five for cleanliness.

My mother has moved into Harbor Village Senior Communities. The reason we chose it was a combination of price and location. The rooms are clean and large. The building is in good shape. Everyone has been very helpful so far. She's only been there for a week. According to my mom, the food is great. They have exercise classes. They do the laundry. They clean her place twice a week. They take care of her medication and help her to shower twice a week. They have a couple of other things that they do.

They seemed nice at Harbor Village Senior Communities. The residents seemed very sweet and very caring. It was very clean. The room seemed to be efficient for the needs. It was very bright and sunny. It was conveniently located. They had meals and things, so it seemed like it was well thought out or well planned. It was pretty easy to process. It seemed like a very nice place. I saw one of the resident directors. He seemed like a very kind and caring man. I had a very warm and pleasant conversation. It went very well. I liked the kindness that they showed the other residents. The level of care that they showed to people was very nice to see.

Harbor Village Senior Communities met all my needs, my criteria, and what I wanted. My daughter and I toured it together and we liked the cleanliness and the convenience of the place. It's only going to be ten minutes away from her, so she's close to me. I was very happy with the atmosphere, with what they provide, and the safety. The lady that toured us around was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. She went above and beyond and just made our tour very pleasant. I was looking for a garage parking though and they only have outdoor parking, but everything else was fabulous. They had meeting places and a hair salon. I did not like the fact that the rooms are carpeted, but it was super clean, and very homey.

My parents moved into the Harbor Village Senior Communities. They have all the amenities included with the price, which is great. And they had access to everything close around them for shopping and stuff that you need to go by shuttles. The facility has been well kept. They have nursing on-site, they help with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and they have people there 24 seven. They have a thing that goes around the patient's neck, especially for assisted living that is very accommodating, so if something happens, all my dad has to do is press the button and they will come. The price includes cable, they include Internet, and they include phone. Also included in their amenities is they have an exercise room, so if it is winter here in Vermont, they have amenities where they can exercise and walk. My parents have told me that they have different meals every day and they're all included with my dad's. My mom's more independent, so she's able to cook either in the apartment that they have, or she can go down and dine with him. My dad is in assisted living, my mom is independent, and they were able to take both of my parents and accommodate the one price for both of them. They have bingo nights, they have movie nights, they have flower nights for the females to make bouquets and wreaths, and all the flowers are usually given by Trader Joe's at the end of the day. Or when it gets more to the holidays, we'll be making gingerbread houses. They'll be able to do puzzles, they do yoga, and they do a lot of different varieties. My mom and dad are not attending too many activities right now, but they go for exercise and walk on the treadmill, and they go in and clean them after each use by each person, so they like that part.

We liked Harbor Village Senior Communities because it would meet all of my mother-in-law's needs. It seemed like a nice community where she would have a sense of belonging, but also be able to maintain her autonomy. There were trees surrounding the property and we liked the feeling that we got when we toured it. I've been in contact with John and he has been very warm and very prompt in all of his communication with us. He's easy to communicate with and easy to collaborate on the next step with. The apartments were a nice space, with good lighting. They actually renovate the unit when they turn it over to a new resident (flooring, paint, and anything that it needs to sort of feel fresh for them). They have shared community spaces as well that anybody were welcomed to use. Aside from touring the independent living, we went around the assisted living, too, should my mother-in-law need to transition there and they were all welcoming.

The tour at Harbor Village Senior Communities was fantastic. It gave a very warm feeling. The only issue I had was that there was no bathtub and I have a bad back. That's the only single thing that I wasn't happy with. I have scoliosis so taking a bath would be very helpful. Other than that, I loved everything else about it. The guy that took me on the tour, John, was wonderful. He was just very personable and didn't rush me through it. I went to another community on Thursday and I felt like I was running a race because it was exhausting. I kept feeling like she needed to be somewhere in a hurry and would I please hurry up. John was not like that, he was great. I liked the building but the balcony was a little scary because I could see that the wood was rotting. I have a table and chairs for a porch, so I would want to be assured that it's safe. I toured the independent living part of the community. I appreciated that they have an exercise group that meets every morning. That was important to me. Everyone that I met on the tour was just very warm and friendly. The menu looked great because they have vegetarian options, you just need to sign up for them. I looked at it and saw what was offered and most of it was very appealing. I don't eat a whole lot of meat because I'm on a vegetarian diet. The place was very clean and it met all of my needs except for the bathtub.

My father has moved into Harbor Village Senior Communities. It was well-maintained, very clean, and seemed kind of up to date or kept up. He's in independent living, so there isn't really any staff over there. The housekeeping staff came to introduce themselves. They were very friendly and just confirmed with him when the apartment would be cleaned. I feel like they have good communication. The independent housing doesn't have any additional facilities, just a common room downstairs. There's no gym or anything of that nature. It's a nice facility. I thought the staff have all been very helpful. It's a good value. There are no additional services because he's an independent, so I think it's consistent with the market for senior housing.

My tour at Harbor Village Senior Communities was very good. It was nice and open with friendly people. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and very helpful. The building was kept up, nice, the outside was nice, so I like the outside space. The layout of the facility was easy to navigate.

As a visitor, Harbor Village Senior Communities was very large, and I'm used to a little bit smaller community. The main thing is, it's a 40-minute drive from me, so if I had friends to visit, or me to come to visit them, it's a 40-minute drive instead of a 15-minute drive. The rooms are a little bit smaller. The staff was eager to help, but, they have not had been there for a long period of time. They have an activity list. They have a library; I think you can check out DVDs and things like that. The facility is not new, it's been there for a long time.
