I had an aunt who lived in Pioneer Valley Lodge. I liked it. It was nice. It was just too expensive and it didn't meet my needs. I saw them playing cards. The rooms are kind of small, the common rooms were nice.

I toured Pioneer Valley Lodge. It says independent living, but you have a microwave and a mini fridge, and that's all you've got in your room. You have to go down and get food. They'll bring the food up to you a couple of times, but a couple of times in your whole stay. You have to socialize. And if you're not a social person, you still have to socialize, which is good for some people, but not for me. The gentleman there was very nice. I like him. He was very kind. But I didn't like that the apartment only had a microwave. With regard to food, I can't have gluten but everything they had the day I was there had gluten in it, so I did not eat. But the food looked delicious.

My mother is in Pioneer Valley Lodge. She's doing well. She's warming up and they are helping get things warmed up for her, because she's got a little medical condition that we're dealing with. She's getting her back fixed and then she'll be able to move around very freely. They're just being very helpful and supportive of it. The staff is absolutely excellent, very accommodating, "let's work the problem out" type of stuff. They're very good. The facility is topnotch. It's very good, very clean, very organized, and the residents are put first. They made sure that I was involved in a lot of the meals because I was helping a lot with the decision for her to go there. I haven't got to know all of the staff yet, but they're very accommodating. My kudos to Richard. The food was very good. It was not cafeteria style. It was restaurant style. The value for the money is very good because it's very clean, people are there, and I think it's worth every dime that we pay. What we pay and what they get is very good.

I will move into Pioneer Valley Lodge Gracious Retirement Living. I chose it for the professionalism of the staff. They're on top of things. The room is very nice. It's clean and it's not fully furnished yet, but it will be when I move in. The food was very satisfactory. I've seen the schedule of activities, and people look as busy as they want to be.

I liked Pioneer Valley Lodge a lot. We liked the tour and we liked everything about it, how it looked, the food, and the layout. It's just beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. We went for dinner and the quality was very good. The rooms were very nice and big, and they had spacious closets. They showed us the activity rooms. The staff during the tour was nice. Richard was good at showing us what we needed to see and answering our questions and everything. All the staff we met was just very friendly. It was really clean and nice. We were very satisfied with the place.

I'm at Pioneer Valley Lodge. It is a very engaging community. There are lots of activities and the participation in the activities is extremely high. The staff is very personable and very accommodating. From the executive staff and the activities director, to the servers and the maintenance staff, they're all exemplary. The setting is really quite lovely. There's a beautiful view of the mountains. It's a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are well designed. You're not just in a bunch of little boxes. I think almost all of the rooms have some kind of access to the outdoors through the room. It's easier to walk out or to a balcony. The food is good and there are lots of meal options, the main items, plus lots of short order items that one can get, for lunch and dinner. They're going to redecorate in a couple of months. The preview of the new decor is really quite stunning, but it's adequate now. I have no complaints. The value for the money is very good.

Pioneer Valley Lodge is beautifully kept. The grounds are beautifully cared for. Our apartments are very nice. They've been very well cared for so that when each new person moves in, it looks like they're moving into a new place. The staff is delightful. They are very kind people, and they will respond to anything you ask them. There are so many activities. They provide games. Of course, our meals are all provided for us. They provide people who come in and speak to us and people who come in and entertain us with songs and other music. And then we have our church services that are provided here and various activities within the church as well. The majority of us here belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and we have our own church service here in the building and activities related to that. If you are bored here, it's your own fault. The food is delicious. I just came from lunch where I had a lovely piece of salmon and a fruit bowl. Today I have a tossed green salad, salmon, and the fruit bowl, and it was more than sufficient, so we are well-fed. We have a chef here that's quite funny. I think he goes out of his way to make food for us old people good. They're very good people.

My mother is now in Pioneer Valley Lodge. We chose this place because cost was a big thing. It costs less than a lot of the others, but it had more to offer for what we were going to be paying. It had more to offer her as far as the activities, and it had more of a happy feel. Some of the places I went to felt like they're just going to go there to die, where this place felt alive and vibrant. The staff was very helpful. I have not tried the food, but their menu looks amazing. They're doing an excellent job when it comes to activities. There was something scheduled for every day of the month last month (just based on the calendar that they gave me). There are lots of choices for her when it comes to facilities. They have a salon, a small workout area, puzzle area, church area, crafts area, and a computer area. I would say they're doing pretty darn good. Compared to the other places I saw, the value for money is good. There was a place that's close to me that was almost twice as much.

We toured Pioneer Valley Lodge and met with the director of their program, who was a very nice gentleman. He gave us a bunch of options that he had there and took us on a tour. It's an older building, but still a very friendly place to older people as far as having walk-in showers and rooms that were set up nicely. They had oversize windows, your own bedroom, your sitting area, your kitchen, and there's plenty of storage. They had a patio area on their lower unit (upper units did not have them). They were a three-story facility and it was all independent living. They had two different dining halls serving three-planned meals. They had a nice library there and beautiful grounds for those who like to sit outside in the garden areas. It was gorgeous. They just seemed a little bit pushier to get residents in there. You can bargain with them a little bit more, but it has the feel of an upscale hotel versus a home. My mom would have to take elevators up and down floors to get to different activities instead of everything being at ground level. So, it is a bigger facility, which is fine for some people. The nice thing about it was they are located by two different hospitals in case there's an emergency. They had a nice library, a printer set up with Internet access that you could go in and use any time, and accommodations for out-of-area guests. So, if you have someone that's coming to visit you, they have rooms that you can rent for the night so you don't have to find someplace else to stay while you're there.

The tour experience I had at Pioneer Valley Lodge was very good. The community looked interesting. The staff was very nice, did a very good job of it, was friendly, and showed me the information I needed. It's a fairly new facility, so the rooms looked very nice and clean. Their dining area looked nice, too. It was a place that someone would be very comfortable living in.

I think the people at Pioneer Valley Lodge were very welcoming and pleasant. They gave us a nice tour. It's an independent living and we looked at several apartments and we were impressed with them and the facility itself. An elderly gentleman was walking around doing some walking exercises. They showed us the game room but there wasn't anybody at that time playing games. We saw the dining room too. The apartments were, I'd say, sufficient. I wouldn't call them large but they were sufficient for most people. They were clean and nice. Some of them had that nice veranda outdoor patio upstairs. You can go outside on the patio with the fence around it, it was enclosed but you're outside. That was nice. The one we saw downstairs also has a concrete patio. It was on the main level and the grounds were kept nice. It's also a nice location and very close to the hospital.

My sister and her husband are moving into the Pioneer Valley Lodge. We liked the size of the rooms, they were nice. It has a nice little balcony that we like and that they like. It's clean, and the people were just wonderful to us to help us when we had to change our move-in day, they worked with us on that. They gave us gratis for a few days, and so we didn't have to pay for it. It's just a nice community. I like the idea that they take them places on the bus. And that they have that available for doctor's appointments or whatever they need. I heard them just on the intercom, talking about the next activity for the day, so they have a lot of activities going, I heard the food is wonderful, so we'll have to test that. They have church service, and we liked that. The dining room is beautiful. The tables are always set beautifully, we've seen the people sitting at the tables and they're just beautiful tables, and the attentiveness of the people that are serving the food. I'm looking forward to having a meal with my sister here.

Pioneer Valley Lodge was a nice and clean place. They had great people and good food. The staff was very knowledgeable. They showed us a studio as well as a one-bedroom apartment. They had a very small exercise room, a nice library, and a little game room. They did not tell me the specifics of their activities, but they do a lot.

Mother chose to go into an independent living in Pioneer Valley Lodge. It’s excellent, very lovely apartment-style living with a lovely dining area where they can sit and visit, like a very fine restaurant. They have activities printed including yoga and quilting; they have anything they can think of. They have somebody that comes in and goes over their diet with them. They have a health nurse on call, so everything is good. They all love it. I have several friends there, so I know people besides my mother.

We visited Pioneer Valley Lodge twice. It was great. We really want to move there, but it is just a matter of first getting things organized, like selling our house. Everybody that we talked to there was great. We like the apartment; it was nice, clean, bright, and cheery. We like the people. It was a really nice place.

Our visit was wonderful at Pioneer Valley Lodge. My parents really liked it there. The only difference is that the facility is bigger and a little bit brighter. They were having a speaker come in and talk about macular degeneration on the day that we were there, and then one day they were having a nurse come in and talk to them about cancer. The week that we went, they had an activity where they all went to the aerospace museum. They also have someone that comes in every week and does blood pressure. It seems like my parents would be a little bit more independent in there. They have managers here too.
