I've moved into the Elison Assisted Living of Lake Wellington. I like that it's on the lake and you can walk out to the dock and grandkids can have something to do. Stephanie has been a big help, helping me do all the paperwork. She's the only one I know. I just got done eating a grilled cheese sandwich and it was good. That's the only thing I've eaten. It's clean and well-lit. They showed me a calendar and they keep everybody pretty busy. Value for your money is pretty good.

Elison Assisted Living of Lake Wellington had an open community-like atmosphere. It felt like it was a very safe place that my mother would never be alone. The nursing staff is on-site 24 hours. We met the nursing director, and he was very knowledgeable and personable. It was the marketing director who took us around. She had lunch with us. She was very knowledgeable and very kind. There were even residents coming up to my mother and introducing themselves. It was a very friendly atmosphere. My mom and I enjoyed the food. There were a lot of choices. My mom had a chicken dish with peppers, coleslaw, and creamed corn, and I had a taco salad and a dessert of blueberry coffee cake. The exercise room and the laundry room were quite small. This wouldn't affect my mom that much because she wouldn't be exercising or doing her laundry, but it seemed like it would be difficult for someone with a walker to get around in.

I toured Elison Assisted Living of Lake Wellington. What I liked best was the small lake they had outside, and then what I liked least was the layout of the rooms. The staff who gave the tour was fantastic. Anybody working there that we passed in touring was friendly. With regards to cleanliness and structure of the building, it was good and very clean. When I stepped in, I felt very comfortable in there.

I went to tour Elison Assisted Living of Lake Wellington. It looked very bright and cheerful. It was not dated. It was just very fresh. The staff was very friendly. Their menu had more choices and the dining room had tablecloths. It just looked inviting to go there. They had a front sitting area, but they also had a nice fenced-in backyard that was facing the water, and it was very nice. The nurses station was handy. They offered laundry once a week, but they said if Mom needs it more than once a week, they're happy to do it more than once a week. And same with cleaning. They would clean her room once a week. But if she needed trash taken out, they could take care of that for her. It just seemed to have a little more pluses. Also, if she wanted to take her meal in her room, they could do that by picking it up and there would be no other charge. They had a library and church services. I believe they even had a little separate chapel room.

My mother-in-law is a resident and we haven't been allowed in the facility, so I don't really know what it looks like inside, but they are tremendously helpful with keeping us in contact and taking care of her. She's much happier there. At the very beginning, we got to sit outside a couple of times to visit. The staff is great. I'm not happy with the situation but that's not their fault, it's the COVID's. They kept us informed and they even made a video of her room before we moved in so I could know what it looks like. They keep us up-to-date with everything that she needs, and I never had a call that they did not respond to. They try to include her in what they do, because she mostly interacts with them now that there's COVID. They do what they can to make her feel involved, especially that she can't see her family. She's blind, so we can't do even Facetime, so it's very difficult for her. They do the best that they could possibly do for the situation she is in. She loves the food and the staff makes sure she eats. If I call, they know whether she ate or she didn't. She always eats though because she thinks the food is great.

The people were nice. It's an excellent facility, but they didn't do memory care, which was what we needed. The atmosphere was nice and the dining area was nice.

The care that they provided is super. It's a clean and nice place with lots of activities, and the staff is very caring and helpful. They had activities like shopping trips to different places, they have people coming in, they have pedicures for all the patients, card games, they watch TV, and they sing songs. They also have cookouts outside and lots of different things to do. We have seen the menus and they're very good. They have an excellent chef, they get a choice for their meals and they have a two hour timeframe to eat. There are also certain snacks and food served all day that they're welcome to eat. My relative's room there is kept very clean. They also have a library, an activities room, a workout room, a big sun porch facing the light, and they have covered pavillions outside with good seating. And they're safe, even for people who use walkers or crutches.
