I moved into Brookdale Sikes Lake. It's very nice. I've met some lovely people. They were just very friendly and they were on top of it. Very professional. They do everything I asked them to do. They take us on trips and stuff, and they put me in charge. I can get my hair done, manicure, pedicure, spa. We have a library.

I like Brookdale Sikes Lake because of the memory care part and the director that I talked to was great. They really listened and seemed very caring; that is important to us. We couldn't go into the memory care because it was full. The staff explained all of it to me and their activities. They explained what the differences were between their assisted living area and their memory care area. I didn't get to see a floor plan there, but I really liked the activities they offered. They also offered different payment plans that you could choose from. It seemed that the assisted living part was more open. They had a courtyard, and it was lovely and looked very clean. The upkeep looked great. It was a two-story building. They had a very good activity list for both the assisted and the memory care.

We looked at Brookdale Sikes Lake. It's very calm and very beautiful by the lake. We went onto the assisted living instead of the memory care; my aunt is going to try to do it first. The staff was very thorough. She showed four different apartments with different floor plans and different sizes, so she was very helpful. We got to talk to a couple of residents, but we had to be masked, of course, because of COVID. The staff was very kind and answered all of our questions. The dining room was beautiful. They were setting up for supper and it smelled awesome. We went out, walked around, and looked at the lake because my aunt lives by a lake. We saw the ducks and the geese. That would be why it would be a winner for her because it is by a lake. The place was very clean and very well maintained. They have beauty shops, 24/7 care, library, movie theater, activity room, and transportation to and from your doctors. They have a button, and the staff would come if they needed aid. They also have cable TVs and Wi-Fi. My aunt gets to have her little cat with her, so all of that is going to be very satisfying for her. I can't think of anything that she is not going to want. The medications are going to be brought to her, so that's going to be nice. She is still going to have to be evaluated to make sure she qualifies and can go there or if she's going to need more care. They're going to be able to do it on Facetime, so we don't have to make another trip. The social director was very good.

We visited Brookdale Sikes Lake for my parents, and it was really good. We liked it. The people were wonderful, but when mom passed away we no longer needed it. It looked wonderful and it was where we were leaning towards. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartments were very clean, they were just small, which kind of goes with the territory, but they were just fine. Just talking to other people, it seemed like they had more there than some of our friends' parents. It was very well maintained and everything we saw was very nice.

Brookdale Sikes Lake was nice, and the people were decent. We got to see a room and have a tour around, but we were only looking for respite care at that time. We only wanted three or four days at a time, and their minimum was two weeks. The room was OK and decent sized, and the memory area was locked and secured. I saw the regular dining area out in the main hall, and another one in the memory care unit. They had the residents participating in activities, and they stay fairly busy. They were singing and doing exercises. The staff was pleasant, very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and I really appreciate the time they took with us.

Brookdale Sikes Lake (Formerly Emeritus at Lakeridge Place) was really close to shopping and to Sikes Lakes, which is in the central part of town. The facility was clean. The people were very nice.

At Emeritus at Lakeridge Place, there were ample attendants for each individual. I noticed how the staff interacted with their residents, and it was just remarkable. They have a lot of attention and a lot of good things. They seem to really care. They were very courteous, friendly, and patient. All of the residents knew the staff, and they weren't afraid to talk to them. That's an indicator that they aren't tyrants. The rooms were spacious. There is a nice view of the lake out on the terrace, where they could sit out and do whatever they want to do. Their dining area was pretty much like a hotel. They have a wing for assisted living and a wing for memory care. I have tasted their food on a couple of occasions. It was not home cooking, but I didn't see anybody pushing their plate aside. They have monthly birthday parties, they provide bus service to appointments, and they also have trips to the local mall, which is really close. They have other activities to try to keep their people involved.

I went to Emeritus at Lakeridge Place, and this is the facility at which you had to go to the dining room at certain hours, and I didn’t like that. l think the only rooms available were on the second floor, and we could not use that, so this is not really a suitable place for the needs of my friends. I think they offer quite a lot of activities, but when I walk in there is nobody around. There weren’t any people sitting around visiting, and I felt the place wasn’t immediately welcoming and friendly.

We placed Mom in Emeritus. We chose it because it seemed to offer the most care for the price. Among those I toured, it looked like Emeritus offered the best quality. The facility is very clean. The staff is really friendly and very professional. My mom really likes them a lot. I've tried their food and it was pretty good. They have activities like bingo, crafts, X-box bowling, exercise, etc. They do a lot of different things. The best thing about this place, I would say, is the quality of the residence itself, their rooms are really nice and well maintained, and the atmosphere is really good. It is just a really attractive-looking place. I would recommend it to others.

We visited the Emeritus at Lakeridge Place assisted living facility while looking at possible places for our aunt. The outer courtyard area was very nicely maintained - with plenty of seating to enjoy the great lawn space. The patio area looked particularly nice. There was plenty of space to enjoy outside parties and gatherings. Residents could also enjoy being outdoors safely with adequate, but not intrusive supervision. It was good to know that our aunt could also keep her beloved cat. The interior was bright with lovely windows throughout which let lots of nice, bright, natural light in - with a fresh looking decor and home-style furniture. The dining room was quite cozy, yet not cramped. It had a home-style restaurant feel with beautiful hardwood flooring and French style windows with high ceilings. The food smelled and looked nutritious and delicious. The menus featured healthy foods for diets. Healthy snacks are also offered all day, as well as when requested. The media room had a wide screen TV and comfortable furnishings. There was a library area with table and chairs. Other communal activity rooms also had comfortable furniture. The seniors are encouraged to socialize, play games and participate in many stimulating activities. As a full service facility, they can accommodate varied ambulation levels. The private rooms were tastefully decorated and well maintained. Each room seemed fresh and cheery. All units have convenient kitchen areas and wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. Some of the units had beautiful views of Sikes Lake. Residents enjoy walking along the mile-long path. The library and fireplace looked like great gathering places. Residents enjoy card and dominos games, puzzles, reading and socializing. We also really liked the soothing and calming fish tank. There were several seating areas throughout for residents to enjoy. They can also reserve the private dining room for parties, events and family gatherings. Seniors can use the fitness room as well as go on daily walks. Aerobics and yoga classes are offered. There is also a convenient salon, available several days each week. The residents go on trips to visit the local establishments in the area and enjoy many local eateries and other cultural events offered. The residents looked quite content and well cared for by the considerate staff.
