Brookdale Watauga is a great little place. It's not very crowded and the staff are really attentive. They seem to be on top of everything my sister needs. So, we're pleased. She has a private room and it has a view to the courtyard. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a little mini-fridge, a microwave, a sink, and a bathroom. They have some exercise, church service on Sundays, they play bingo, and have a little entertainment. In fact, tonight I was supposed to have a Christmas dinner with the residents. They also have a beauty salon and an exercise room.

We toured Brookdale Watauga. I like the room size. The staff members were good. The place was old but it did not smell. When I stepped in, the atmosphere was good.

We went to see Brookdale Watauga yesterday. It just seemed very sad. Everybody was eating lunch, it smelled really good, and they didn't seem unhappy necessarily, but it just seemed like a sad place to have to live. It was clean and smelled good though and the staff who assisted was very helpful. I didn't get the name of the lady that helped me, but she was so helpful. She showed me the model apartment that they have for viewing and it was nice. The dining seemed nice and it's right when you walk in the door. We didn't discuss any of the activities or amenities other than them saying that pets are allowed. The woman that normally gives the tours wasn't there that day, but they called her and she asked the attendant to give me the packet of information and show me the model apartment, which is what she did.

My mother-in-law is at Brookdale Watauga. The people and staff are very hands-on and caring. I like them. It has a very soothing atmosphere with a nice courtyard in the center that many of the rooms look out to. Also, you have access to several areas to walk through the enclosed courtyard. So, it's safe for all the residents. She has a one-bedroom. There is a lot of light and it has a lot of extra storage space for her items. They have fancy nails, outings, TV time, and social time. So, they have something going on every day.

My father is at Brookdale Watauga. It's an assisted living that is a Type B where they kind of help them get a little more. So they help him with showering, getting dressed, the occupational health part of it. They give him his medications. It just depends on what your needs are, what they will do, and what is charged. They've been nice, really helpful. They let me know things that are going on with him, which I appreciate. And if they have any questions, they don't hesitate to ask. So I'm really happy. It's clean. If he does not want to eat in the dining room, they will bring him something to eat. They worry about him when he doesn't eat. It's a super nice facility. It's a smaller facility. They keep it clean, keep it updated. They have exercises every day at 10:00, and I did notice that they have a little beauty salon there on-premises. If the ladies want to get their hair done, or if he wants to get a haircut, he can. I would recommend it. The dining area is very nice, they have their own specific places that they sit, and some of the food looks pretty good. He didn't want to exercise, but they did bingo, they had a common room where they could watch TV, he was just not interested in all that. They have crafts. Val the coordinator, she's the first one you talked to, she's the one that talks to the families when they're thinking about putting their family member into assisted living. She was just so nice and full of information. The nurses were all so nice and they just told you everything upfront, which I appreciate. So I was impressed very much with Val and the nurses like Andrea and Lindsey, they were just very helpful. A big shout out to them, because they're very nice and very welcoming.

My mother moved into Brookdale Watauga. It's on lockdown. It's a small community with good and confident staff, but right now, they'd be overwhelmed I'm sure. Mom has a studio, it's a large room with a sleeping area, sitting area, and a kitchenette. Some rooms are on an inner courtyard, which are more expensive and you have to be on a waiting list to get one. I know they have an exercise program, they have bingo, and I'll know more when this lockdown over. They have a courtyard, a common area they use for exercise, and a room for movies and religious services.

I visited Brookdale Watauga and I observed that they had a mini-refrigerator and a microwave in the room, as well as a larger area for storing things. They also have an enclosed area in the back where my nephew can smoke and not wander off. I like that their director has been there a long time. The dining area and the apartments are very nice. The bedroom area is about the same where he is, but they have a bigger closet and a little kitchen like nook, which I liked.

My mother was at Sterling House of Watauga for a long time. Not terribly long ago, it was changed to Brookdale. Because I live right behind the facility, I was very hands on and very active in my observation and care. There were numerous situations that were not good, so at this point, I couldn’t rate them very highly. However, it’s very close to me, so I was able to be hands on. For someone that can't be as hands on, I would not encourage them to take their loved one there at all. They just seemed to never get it together. There’s a high turnover and things that needed to be done for my mother weren’t passed down, so they would make mistakes. Things wouldn’t get done until someone brought it to their attention. The new training process was, to me, not very well done. I had to keep on top of everything.

My mother is in Brookdale. We chose it because of their services. The staff is polite and very nice. The rooms are very large and have a private exit to the courtyard. They go to the mall, they go to the theaters, and they go all over the place. We like the activities, and it is very clean.

Brookdale Watauga was nice, but mother doesn't want to go there because it's too far. There is a little more of an institution feel to the place because it is bigger. They have a living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom, and they go to the dining room for common meals. The staff were very nice. They have a calendar of activities, and they play games, watch TV, and do arts and crafts. The nurse was knowledgeable.

I like Sterling House of Watauga. It's a very nice facility, and they provide higher levels of care for their residents. Their rooms are very nice as well as their dining area. The people I dealt were very nice when I was trying to decide what I was going to do. They would call and check on me and make sure I was feeling OK.

My mother will be moving in Sterling House of Watauga. Based on my visit there, I would say that I love the place. The staff working there are very good. They have good rooms, and they are updating it right now. What impresses me most about the place is the feeling of being at home there. The cost is high though. However, Sterling house is pretty competitive, so I guess it is just reasonable.

They're an older community. They're not any different than other facilities. It was a very generic visit. It was a very short visit.

Sterling House of Watauga was excellent. It was a very clean community. The rooms were fine; however, everything was a little bit smaller than I want it to be, but that's the way it goes. I thought the people were very nice. They were very considerate. Overall, it was a good experience.

I would recommend Sterling House of Watauga. It was a nice facility. It smelled and looked clean. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They were very nice. They would take very good care of their residents. The residents, the ones that I've talked to, they all seemed to be happy there. For activities, they have group Bible studies, they have games, etc. They have a lounge for people to visit. They also have a courtyard out in the middle where people can go to. If I have to pay for something for my mom, if I can afford it, I would go with something like this.

Sterling House is everything that they say they are. Mom felt like they really care about the people there. She likes the food, she loves having a garden, and she's so much happier and healthier. Mary, the sales director, is absolutely wonderful. Besides being a sales person, she also is very caring and very loving to the people there. She's awesome. Mom just loves her. I've already recommended Sterling House to others. It's a great place.

My mother was a resident of Sterling House for two years and I can honestly say she was truly "at home" during that time. The surroundings are simple but beautiful. Tastefully decorated and landscaped, and spotlessly cared for, Sterling House exudes an atmosphere of contentment and security. The competence and genuine caring from the staff is reassuring to resident and family alike.

We went to visit the Sterling House of Watauga assisted living facility since we happened to be in the vicinity looking at other places to consider for our aunt. The grounds looked very well tended and maintained and serene, with plenty of nice shrubs, trees and places to sit to enjoy the outside. The interior featured nicely decorated and lovely furnished community rooms where they can watch movies, use the computer, read, engage in arts and crafts, play games and gather for their many social events and parties. There were plenty of nice areas for quiet time as well as socializing with other residents and friends, family and other visitors. The communal areas were nicely designed with easy to access furniture and a comforting decor. The snacks looked interesting and healthy with a nice mix of nutritious options. We also liked that they encourage drinking plenty of fluids for healthy hydration each day. Their menus offer a variety of healthy food options. The food we saw looked nutritious, delicious and smelled really good, too. The dining rooms included both casual and formal options. The residents are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible. Residents may take exercise classes such as yoga and aerobics, or use the weight training and other equipment. They may also enjoy the outer walk ways around the building and courtyard. The facility is close to the metro area so that residents may enjoy all of the local events, art, culture, music, shopping and fine and casual dining offered. They are many medical offices and close to the highway which makes it easy for visitors. The private living spaces were nicely decorated and personalized, making them fresh and vibrant with plenty of natural light. We could really see that the residents are treated with care, kindness and respect so that they are very well cared for at all times. It was also apparent that the seniors enjoy living here.
