I visited this facility

The Hamptons of Tyler Senior Living was excellent. We were on a waiting list, but they didn't call us. They have games, sports, movies, chef meals, and a swimming pool. The food was good. The cleanliness was excellent. The staff was good.

Provider Response

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the amenities and found our staff and cleanliness up to your standards. We appreciate your understanding with delay of the waiting list and will be in touch soon.

I visited this facility

The Hamptons of Tyler was very nice, but it just wasn't suitable for my mother. It was beautiful, but it's a large complex and in some cases, my mother would have to go outside to walk to get to the common areas. They had a clubhouse and all the events. It was very nice. It was just that my mother would definitely have to be able to drive to get around to. The staff was wonderful.

Provider Response

Kathe, Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear you found The Hamptons of Tyler beautiful and that our staff impressed you! We understand the layout may not have been ideal for your mother’s needs. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

We have recently moved into The Hamptons of Tyler Assisted Living and Memory Care. This place is first class, top of the line. Our apartment is nice and well-maintained. The staff has been very attentive. They have games, bingo, movies, and group exercises. They serve very good food; very tasty, and well portioned.

Provider Response

It's wonderful to know that you appreciate the attentive staff, enjoyable activities, and delicious, well-portioned meals. Your positive feedback means a lot to us!

Place focuses on appearances for visitors and newcomers and downplays their consistent understaffing, poor training, neglectful monitoring, erratic medication management, sporadic food quality and quantity, unresolved maintenance issues and absentee management. Once the honeymoon phase passes, beware, as the care of your loved one will be as little as possible even when paying premium care level. Staff are generally kind and some are competent , especially the few who are long term, but turnover is frequent which can bring harm to your loved one. Sadly, good choices in town are limited, but in review, this place was not the best choice. If your family member needs extra care, expect to be treated like a second class citizen and an expendable inconvenience who has to settle for mediocrity. Seldom is anyone willing to go out of their way to engage someone who has mobility issues or other special needs. Doctor appointments are rarely met on time due to poor coordination of staff for transports. The marketing and management people makes promises but rarely are the commitments kept. It’s very disappointing.

Provider Response

Thank you for your feedback. We take all of our reviews seriously and would like to reach out to you for more clarity about your loved one. The Hamptons strives to provide caring and attentive service; anything less than meeting our passionate and high standards is concerning to us. Please email us at your earliest convenience and a member of our executive team will be in touch. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

I moved my mother into this facility 15 months ago. She has a beautiful apartment. The problem lies in other areas: FOOD: Serve similar items multiple meals per week (Chicken for 8 of 14 meals); Fish for both lunch and dinner. Food is heavily seasoned, mostly fried and HUGE portions. CARE: Mom is supposed to have assistance dressing every day... many times the caregiver is not available to help. Cost of care levels went up by $300/month with no additional service (except on paper). RESPONSE TIME: Mom fell the other morning... 20 minutes after pushing button someone finally showed up to help her. ISSUE RESOLUTION: There is a cool breeze in her apartment that has not been addressed for the entire time she has been there. She says she has been fighting bugs for 6 months and multiple treatments with no improvement. STAFF TURNOVER: There has been a significant changeover in staff during the time she has been there - 3 Wellness directors, 3 Administrators, multiple caregivers, 3 heads of maintenance. ACTIVITIES: Activities are not geared for people who cannot hear well or who have limited physical abilities. NOTE: COVID may be the reason for some of this, but certainly not all of it.

I have moved into The Hamptons. They offered me a good price, and my wife used to be here so I was familiar with it. It is close to my daughter, she's only a mile away. I just chose this one. They have a walking area, and an exercise room. At present, we have COVID19 in here, we are full lockdown quarantined. I've been here long enough, the staff pretty well knows me. The only problem is when I take a nap, somebody new will knock on the door, and that irritates me. They'll eventually come around. There is nothing wrong with the meals here. The Hamptons is one of the best.

They did not meet their obligations. Did not respond to emergency button because they were in a meeting. Couldn't get the laundry back for the first 3 weeks. Didn't empty the bathroom trash daily, didn't change the sheets for several weeks, said they had s buddy program but didn't. And was most expensive. Management is inexperienced and not good managers. Still insisted on payment for last week when we moved her out a week early and wanted to charge for the optional med management when she wasn't even there. All about the money.

Be very specific when asking about management experience and how issues are resolved. They did not respond to the help button for over 35 minutes excuse being all staff were in a meeting. This shows incompetent management. Laundry was not returned several weeks. all trash was not emptied twice a day as advertised. sheets were not changed weekly as advertised.

Provider Response

We have looked into this matter and have investigated this situation and would like to meet with you to discuss this matter further. We take any rating under 5-stars very seriously, so please send us the best way to contact you personally.

Mary and I moved to The Hamptons in July. Our experience has been most helpful. Due to her physical condition and my low vision, we needed assistance in our everyday living needs. Our time since arrival is very satisfactory in terms of the medical assistance as well as the emotional assistance. We have developed friendships with other residents and have found The Hamptons at Pine Forest our nearest to home as possible. We thank our Lord for being able to be here.

The Hamptons has assisted living, independent living, and I think they have a memory unit. I visited the assisted living and it was very comfortable, happy, and you felt secured. The grounds are very nice. They have so many activities, and we had a friend in her 90s and I stopped calling her because every time I would call her they are having a group and I feel like we should go. There’s a woman who turned 100 while she was still there and they gave her a party. She had 100 people there and they served a little cake, ice cream to each one and soft drink. My friend had a very nice apartment, cooks her own breakfast, and they had only one meal in the dining room. She had a nice fully equipped kitchen, and two bathrooms. It smelled okay but it seemed like we walked forever to get to her place. They had exercise classes everyday and lots of lots of people in for activities. They had outings once a week, they take people on the bus, and they go out to a restaurant somewhere, really nice facility. We visited one couple who lived on the third floor, and it was lot like living in a hotel. I wouldn’t like it but they did.

I am a current client of this provider

My husband and I have an apartment here in the Hamptons and live here for years now. He died 7 months ago. The staff is very nice. Everything has been fine. I have no problems at all. The place is clean and well-kept. We have a lot of entertainment and activities here but I have a bad back so I don't participate much. I hear some people talking about the food all the time and I guess this is something that they can improve on.

We were met by very nice people in The Hamptons. Their staff was very helpful and accommodating. The manager who took us around was very nice. She showed us some of the facility's amenities. They have a beauty shop, an exercise room, a coffee room and a dining room. If we have guests, she said we could bring them in the dining room. She also showed us one of their two-bedroom and two-bath cottages. She also took us to one of their apartments and the guy who lived there was nice enough to let us come in and see his apartment. They also have a bus that takes their tenants to stores and takes them out shopping. They gave us some banana bread to bring home and it was good. Overall, this facility has everything you need. If we have to move anywhere, I'm sure we'll move in this place.

Originally, a year and a half ago, we were looking for a place for my father who had cancer and was dying. He was still able to care for himself and look all over town. The Hamptons was the only one we were comfortable with in terms of the facility, the care, and the wonderful people. We moved him there. He died 4 weeks later so we were not there long time but they were like family to us. They even came to hospice with us. When my mother had dementia and couldn't stay by herself anymore, there was only one choice but at that time The Hamptons was full. So we went to another place and it was a place that was not safe for her. I went back to The Hamptons and they were able to help us by putting mom in a two-bedroom until they had a one-bedroom. When she got in she was thinking about selling her house then one day she said to sell her house because she is already "home" with The Hamptons. She loves it there. The nursing staff is phenomenal. If they see something, they'll call me and let me know. They're on top of everything. Last Christmas they brought her a Christmas card. If someone comes in and cleans the room, they hug her when they go out. Those are small things that they don't have to do. It's just beyond wonderful. I am extremely satisfied with The Hamptons. They're very caring. From heart to love, they're very involved. They're like a family.

Our Dad had lived in Hamptons Assisted Care Residence for over two years. After visiting several Assisted Care Residences as we moved to the Tyler area, we knew that the Hamptons would be the best for our Dad. Mr. Dickson's Assisted Care experience was consistently positive and the warmth and caring was more than one would ever expect. It felt like family. However, Dad's health declined. We knew he needed more than assisted care. It was such a wonderful relief to know that he could transition to the Memory Care Residence. From being at other facilities, we thought our Dad would need to share a room with a stranger. That was not true for the way the Memory Care Residence at the Hamptons is designed; it is a double room which provides a private room feel. The day of the move, he was not even aware of the change for it was done over meal time. There was no stress or concern on his part and he fit right into the Memory Care Residence. He is very content. Three months after his move, we both think that our Dad's well being has improved. His mobility has improved and his care fits his needs well. Daily when we visit, we are filled with gratitude for the Hamptons and the wonderful ministry they provide through the Memory Care Residence. There has not been a moment of regret that the move was made. With heartfelt gratitude to the Hamptons Staff, Don and Jan

I visited this facility

The Hamptons is an upscale Assisted Living facility in Tyler. If I'm not mistaken it is the most expensive assisted living facility in East Texas. I have visited the Hamptons approximately ten times over the past few years. The appearance of the facility is nice but nothing overwhelmingly beautiful as you would expect from such a pricey option. The location is ideal. It is located away from the high traffic areas in Tyler and it tucked away from noisy areas. The person that I visited was pleased with the food quality and cleanliness of the Hamptons. I noticed that they provided activities for the residents. They have a small putting green that is accessible to the residents. The putting green is nice but one could get tired of it after a short while because it is so small. Overall, The Hamptons would be a nice place to live. It has a hotel feel to it if you like that sort of environment. The reason that I rated it four stars instead of five is simply because I expected it to be much more elegant for the price one pays for a room. The room that I saw was quite small. If you or your loved one needs an assisted living placement, The Hamptons is a good option if you have the money. Otherwise, you can find a similar quality living environment at a less expensive rate. I guess it just depends on your taste. If you or your loved one need a higher level of care, or require nursing care I would not recommmend the Hamptons.
