We chose Brookdale Tyler South for my mother because of all the places we toured, it was the only one that had a private room and we liked the way the place looked. Mainly what I looked at is their activities, because my mom is a very social person and they seem to have activities mostly all day long. They have games, like bingo, and they have socials. I know on Taco Day, they had tacos. They have movie nights and they just have several different kinds of activities. I had lunch with my mom one day and it was very good. She's only been there maybe a month, but the staff seems very accommodating, helpful, really nice, and caring.

The staff at Brookdale Tyler South was good. The place was clean. They just had a little bit of a nursing home odor, but that's going to be expected in a memory care unit. They had an outdoor garden, a TV room, and a den study. It's kind of a center point in Tyler so it's also convenient to all other places.

I had a very good experience with Brookdale Tyler South. They were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Several things were going on while we were there. There were people eating lunch and people watching movies. It looked good to me.

Brookdale Tyler South was nice. It was clean and up to date. My dad was in a double occupancy room and when you walk in, it's just one big room. His room had a toilet and a sink that he shared with another gentleman. The room itself was nice and big. They watch TV and do sing-alongs. The issue we had was with the staffing. My dad had an aggressive episode and we're not 100% sure what all happened, because they will not come forth and give us the information we've requested on this episode. There was a dispute between a resident, my dad, and one of the faculty members.

Brookdale Tyler South was very nice and it was just clean. I like the activities that they provided. And the people that gave us the tour were nice. The thing I liked best was that they had prepared activities for the residents. The thing that I like the least was, we toured a semi-private room. And it was just a big room with two beds jammed, and nothing was dividing it in two. The staff people were very nice, we didn't meet that many of the staff, just the person that gave us the tour and the main administrator. It was nice that he took the time to come in and talk to us. He was very knowledgeable. The location is convenient. It wasn't hard to get to and was easy to get to.

My husband is in Brookdale Tyler South. We've only been there three weeks, and so far, I have seen no red flags. Their employees are very nice and very helpful, but they are short staffed. It's small, and there are only 46 residents. It's all on one floor, and it's very secure. His room is clean and small, but it's okay for him. I chose it also because it's only memory care, and it's not mixed with assisted living. The meals are okay. It's just so expensive.

We were very impressed with Brookdale Tyler South. The staff who toured us around was very knowledgeable, did a good job, and answered all our questions. They all seemed to be having a good time and happy where they were. There were several activities available.

We were impressed with Brookdale Tyler South the first time we went there because of the cleanliness and the friendliness of the people. They gave us the impression that they can make their residents happy. So far, it's been that way for 2 months now. My wife is into knitting, drawing. and painting. I had only eaten once, and it was fine. My wife said she's happy with all the food she's had. I would give them a perfect score if they could get their laundry upright even though the clothes were marked. I went in there, and my wife was wearing somebody else's blouse.

I did not care for Brookdale Tyler South. It’s a rather large community. There were two long hallways, and people were sitting on either side of them. The rooms were pretty bare. It wasn’t homey at all to me. Unless your loved ones didn’t really know what was going on, they would not be comfortable there. I called ahead, but the person who was going to give me a tour wasn’t there, so someone else filled in. She pointed out different areas and what they do there. She showed us the dining area, an area where they do therapy, and a couple of rooms. They were not very prepared.

We visited Brookdale Tyler South. It was nice, it was neat, and it was clean. It was sunny too. We like the people and the fact that there were more active people. We went and saw about three, and we were impressed with Brookdale Tyler South.

My mom was at Emeritus at Pinehurst and they had excellent service. We chose it because it was cheaper and it afforded all the amenities that we needed. The staff and food were really good. The rooms were very spacious. My experience with them was good because I put my mom there. It was a good facility.
