My mother was a resident in the Memory Care unit at Briarcliff from 2017 to 2018. Her needs increased as her situation worsened, having both dementia and cancer, along with a very painful arthritic hip. The staff there was very patient with her, very sweet and attentive. I never saw any sign of neglect of her or anyone. I don't see how the staff could handle all of the challenges, from Mom and others, but they took them all in stride, and were always nice to me, too. The place was always clean, and the staff was quick to handle any questions or issues. I would recommend Briarcliff to anyone.

My friend entered Briarcliff after suffering a stroke. He had completed his hospital stay, a stay at another rehab facility, and then the move to Briarcliif. My friend had improved remarkably. He is happy with his care and happy to be there. This place does a very fine job, and I highly recommend it.

For just a short time, my mother Lahoma was a resident. My best friend has her mother at Briarcliff. She recommended that I place her at Briarcliff. After experiencing your staff and all employees....I wanted to say THANK YOU for loving and caring for each person. I always hear...:"All nursing homes are the same"....however I must say that is not the case. Briarcliff was a wonderful, loving facility to my mother and our family. Your business office manager Tammy is the most organized, professional, courteous person to have as an employee. She goes above and beyond any administrative health care employee that I have worked with. She never drops the ball...she is so punctual on any issue she faces. She is a very valuable employee to have on your staff. I will most definitely let everyone I know how much Briarcliff is the exception in caring for a loved one. I was truly Blessed when I experienced Briarcliff. I kept thinking....I never want to live to be 90 and be in a nursing facility but you have changed my perception of aging. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Director of Nursing was very rude and not helpful when there were issues regarding my father's care. We also couldn't get the social worker to return our calls on a period of 2 months. When I did "surprise" visits, my father would smell like urine, his hair was long and his nails were long/gross and unkempt. Various items of property were missing each time we went to visit and no one could account for the location of the property. We moved him from the facility and I would not recommend this facility.

First off, the staff is extremely unprofessional. The director of nursing John is probably the most rude, inconsiderate person in Texas. The phone rings & rings when I call, then when answered the staff doesn't direct your call, instead places you on infinite hold then hangs up. Thier lack of concern for family members can only lead me to believe the patients are treated with even more disrespect. Unfortunately, my grandfather has had several strokes & is not able to speak about his treatment. My entire family has been disrespected by the staff here, & as far as the leadership is concerned, I see why the staff is so braising. Please don't support these people, your loved one will not be in good hands.

My mom's been in Briarcliff Health Center for four years now. It's in a convenient location for everyone to be able to visit her.

Briarcliff nursing home is the largest nursing home in Tyler, TX with 230 beds. I have visited this nursing home approximately 10 times over the past three years. It was difficult for me to find my way around in Briarcliff because of its sheer size and many wings. Because of its size, it does not feel like a comfortable atmosphere. I would imagine that it could be an intimidating place, at least at first for new residents and staff members. Briarcliff has a memory care unit that specializes in providing care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease. I had a close acquaintance that spent their last days in this wing. I believe she was given good quality care and her family felt this way too. In the end, quality of care is what is most important. The nursing home is located next door to a nice assisted living facility. If your loved one does not have nursing home level care needs but you anticipate your loved one needing long-term care in the near future, then a good option would be to transition your loved one from the assisted living next door to Briarcliff. Overall, I would give this nursing home a "three out of five". If the sheer size of the building and the number of patients doesn't bother you or your loved one then I believe Briarcliff is a pretty good option for nursing home care.
