My mother is in New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's very nice and I thought it was pretty upscale. It wasn't what I expected. I expected to go into a nursing home type place, and it was not like that at all. It's like a little apartment area. They call their rooms, studio apartments, and they're very nice. I really like the staff because they care for them individually. They have less people there, so they're able to take care and take more time for their guests. She's had facials there, she's had her hair cut, her toenails done, and she plays bingo every day. She really likes it. She said someone complained about the food, but she really thought the food was good. The facility is very nice and taken care of very well.

The New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care in Tomball was good. They were very kind and very nice, and there weren't any marketing issues. If anything happens and I wouldn't like the place where my husband is now, I would probably put him there. I liked the fact that it was small, and that the people who work there were extremely friendly to me and very accommodating. I just looked at a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't call it a studio but it's a one-bedroom and a bath and that's it. The room was adequate. They were having a Mardi Gras party during my visit. I liked the outdoor area very much. It was very nice and the patio was nice. The residents seemed to be having a good time with what they were doing. It was the memory care that I looked at during my visit. The people who worked there like the director, the activity director, and the people from the kitchen were extremely nice to me. I toured their memory care.

Beware of this place. They had a MAJOR COVID-19 outbreak, including at least one death. My mother died at this facility because they were not giving her proper care. They are not accurately reporting the number of COVID-19 cases on their website, nor are they following their own guidelines that are posted on their site. They're under investigation by the Department of Health. If you have loved ones there already, I would suggest moving them to a safer facility. The staff is not well-prepared in knowing the protocols, and they allow residents' family members into the facility without proper screening and knowing that these family members have been infected with COVID and are still contagious. STAY AWAY!

I toured New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care. My dad is moving in on Friday. The facility was lovely. It's about a year old. What we liked about it is it's small, so it's a lot more manageable for dad to maneuver and get around in. They've got everything. They have food, laundry, cleaning, all the assistance he needs, activities, and exercise. Ashley, the salesperson over there, has been outstanding in this process, and so far, it has been very good. They've been very helpful and made things very easy for us and that's a huge plus.

The staff at New Haven was really great, but it was still under construction when I visited. And it's going to be more effective than where my dad is currently at. I saw the memory care unit and the staff took me on a tour with the unfinished assisted living building but it wasn't going to be ready on time. The memory care area looked great and I was really impressed. It looked like a home, although it was a little bit bigger than a home. But the people were out at the tables doing stuff. The staff was very engaged with them. They had this huge open kitchen that was marvelous and it just had the right touch of a home. I didn't see a calendar, but they have activities going on and they were busy with stuff so I was impressed. Their dining area is all one big area and they had tables that doubled as a dining table and a game area. Even though the layout was very open, it was small enough for memory care residents that it made sense. It just seemed like a really great place and it left a good impression on me. The one staff that I really talked to was the director and she knew everything.

With Forever Young Senior Living, it was a smaller facility, and that was a good thing because they only care up to 15 to 18 rooms, and not just anybody can walk in. However, the rooms were really small, and you have to share a bathroom, which we didn't like. People that run it were very nice and very helpful. The pro about this facility is that it's a complete square, so whoever is in there, they can't get lost.
