My mother is living in Brookdale Sugar Land. It's been pretty good, I think the food is lacking, but overall, we're pleased. The staff is very nice. They have bingo, happy hours on Fridays and ice cream socials.

I went to Brookdale Sugar Land. The rooms were very nice. I like the size of the rooms. The menu looked good. The staff was very pleasant, nice, and engaged in conversation. They had a podiatrist that came in. They have a beauty salon. They have a small rehab center and a couple of areas for watching movies if you don't want to be in your room. The building was nice. It was clean. It didn't have any odor, which was nice because I know some places have that.

There was nothing nice about the physical appearance of Brookdale Sugar Land. There were a whole bunch of fire extinguishers that weren't up-to-date. Some of the doors could not be opened easily. What I liked about Brookdale Sugar Land was that it was big. They had a garden, and they had chickens and roosters. The staff who gave me the tour was not that knowledgeable about certain questions that my wife had. I suggest that they clean and upkeep the place, and improve the landscaping. There should not be mismatched paint. I understand it's an older building, but it should be kept up well.

Brookdale Sugar Land was an older facility. It had been remodeled but there were a couple of things that you have to tear down and rebuild to change. They had it very nicely set up, but they had the school cafeteria vibe going in the kitchen. The rooms were smaller, but instead of carpet, they had fairly nice vinyl tile. The bathrooms had ceramic or porcelain tile. The rooms were well designed and laid out, just a little more impersonal and a little smaller. The staff knew what was going on. She was able to tell they had a program we can apply to with the VA to reduce the financial burden on my mother-in-law. Everyone was very helpful. It was in very good repair. They were working on sorting out the rooms between residents. There was nothing wrong with the building. It just had that older outdated architecture. It was a very nice place. It just didn't hit all the right notes. It wasn't what we were looking for.

Brookdale Sugar Land is very nice. The staff, Michelle, was great, but it's just the facility is a little older, not that it was bad. It was just a little older, and I think that it could use a little renovating. It is nothing major, and it's a very nice facility. That was number two on my list. It was a single-story, so I was impressed with that. They had a courtyard.

Brookdale Sugar Land was nice, and they had good amenities with lots of movement. The staff was really good there, they were active, I never saw anybody sitting around or just talking to a coworker, they were all doing their job. It was just a little too far for us. There was a resident that moved there that had her birds and they brought the birds into the community. So when you walk in, there's like a nice little aviary with finches that have been there a long time. There's a cockatoo parrot and they also had a chicken coop in the back so that the residents could go see chickens and everything. So that was a nice touch. I think I just saw bingo. It was clean and well maintained.

I saw part of Brookdale Sugar Land, and I must say that the people were extremely nice and cordial. Because of the virus, I couldn't go through, but they showed me a room. I just couldn't go through the whole facility. We met on the front porch, but everybody was warm, friendly, and helpful. The one room I saw was small, but only because it was the closest one to the lobby. It had two large closets, and a lovely big bathroom where you can roll a wheelchair into the shower. Everybody was so friendly. The person that helped me the most was Katie. She was so friendly, she set up chairs on the front porch the day I came over, and had a couple of staff members there that I could meet. I got to meet about five people, which I really appreciated, and they were extremely friendly and nice.

We moved my sister-in-law to Brookdale Sugar Land, but we just received the bill and we have charges on there that were not disclosed to us, so we may be moving her. So far, Brookdale has been fine. They've transported her to a doctors' appointments, they remind her to come eat, and they help her with her medication management. Her care has been good. Her room is clean, spacious enough for her, and they have exercise classes, bingo, and some activities she has been active in.

Brookdale Sugar Land is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. So far, we're having a great experience. My mother-in-law's room is good. She seems to be eating well, and she hasn't had any complaints about her food. She's in physical therapy, but they also bring them out to be in the community and get them moving and active. They're keeping her more engaged than when she was living at home. It's the cheapest of all the places I visited.

I had a nice tour of Brookdale Sugar Land. It was a small community, which I liked. They're very friendly and very helpful. The staff members who assisted me were nice and friendly. They were willing to take me on a tour and to answer any questions that I had. They have semi-private rooms, which are nice, and spacious. They keep the residents doing different types of activities such as bingo. They keep an eye on everybody and try to keep them on a regimen.

I liked Brookdale Sugar very much, and I felt welcomed. The person who actually welcomed me was the maintenance man, which I thought was really nice. We met with the director, which was really good. The facilities were a little bit older, but it was kept clean and tidy. It was a different type of senior community because it didn't have independent living and was much smaller compared to others I have seen. They talked about the activities they have available although I didn't see the interaction at that time. The dining area was very wide and open. They had just remodelled it and it looked very nice. The staff who gave me the tour tried her very best. I would rate the layout of the facility itself a 4 because it's older and was not wide, open, and airy. It felt more closed. I think that place goes back to the '80s and '90s so they might think about updating.

We didn't like Brookdale Sugar Land at all. It just didn't seem like home to me. The ambiance wasn't something that I would be comfortable with for my grandmother. The person who gave us the tour was kind, but not as organized as the person who gave us the tour. I went over the pricing, but it was equally priced when compared to another community that was better than this one. It's not dirty, but I wouldn't say that it's really clean either. We walked through the cafeteria. We didn't get to taste the food, but it didn't look appetizing to me regardless.

My mother (87 years old) and has not been in good health for years. She has been at Brookdale Sugar Land for 1-year now. She is in a private room - small, but has everything she needs. She has been on Hospice care for 7-months, but they are not responsible for her day-to-day care, which she receives from the incredibly caring staff at Brookdale. She was previously at another assisted living facility, but they could not provide the additional care Mom requires (she is a fall-risk), so when I found Brookdale Sugar Land, I immediately had a good feeling about the facility, the amenities and especially the staff. We have the peace of mind knowing Mom is being well cared for. They have monthly family dinners and with the 'open door' policy - you can come and visit your family member (and dine with them) whenever. It is very clean - doesn't look like many other facilities, which look more like a 'hospital/nursing home'. There is a central dining room and residents order off a menu. There is also a Doctor on staff & RNs to assist. They will take residents to ballgames, sight see, out to lunch and help them feel they are not 'trapped'. We cannot recommend any place more than our family does Brookdale Sugar Land.

My visit at Brookdale Sugar Land was very good. The rooms were very spacious. They didn’t have a garage, but they had covered parking. The one thing I didn’t like was that I have a cat and it would have to be kept inside. The dining area was very nice. We had an OK hamburger. The one- and two-bedrooms come in different but spacious sizes with walk-in closests. This is the one we would probably go to due to their location.

Brookdale Sugar Land is a little jewel nestled in the original Sugar Land settlement. The Executive Director runs a tight ship and the staff are very caring people.

Brookdale Sugar Land had a lot of older people, and they seemed to be in worse shape than my mother-in-law. They were in wheelchairs kind of sitting and leaning. My mother-in-law needed assisted living, but she didn’t need that kind of living. However, it was a very clean place. It was very nice, and the people were great. The food looked good. I knew they had a bus that took place where they wanted to go. They would take you to doctor’s visits. I knew they had a doctor that came in. However, these people seemed to be a lot more intense care than my mother-in-law.

I wasn’t very impressed with Brookdale Sugar Land. The people seemed a bit isolated, but it could have been the time of day I visited. The staff was very friendly. Everything was a bit older, not run down but just older and didn’t feel fresh or new. It was clean. They did mention that they were going to renovate. When I visited, they were playing bingo. It was OK. Nothing really stood out to me. It wasn’t my top choice.

Brookdale Sugarland has the lowest rates. I like them. The people were all attentive, helpful, and I thought they appeared to provide all the services that the residents needed. The place was clean. It’s an older place but comfortable. All the people that I visited there seem to be really happy. I spoke with people that had several years of experience with them, and they had nothing but good things to say about the care that their loved ones received. It is by far the most reasonably priced one. That’s the main reason I decided to go with them because they really offered a reasonable price that I can afford.

I liked Brookdale; I liked the people that I talked to and the people that I met that took me all around the hall. I met the cook, nurse, and the staff, and I was very comfortable with them. I talked to a few of the people that lived there, and they seemed to be happy. The rooms were very clean, roomy, and well-kept. They had facilities for people to be together. The food and the dining facility were adequate.

Mom was able to spend a week here and she really, really liked the facility. We liked how small it was and how the people were super friendly and nice, but in the end she just doesn’t really need that level of care yet. The staff seemed to really know their residents and care about them. If she would stay in a place, this is probably where she would stay. The rooms were a little bit older, but they were nice and big. We were able to eat there and it was fine.
