We moved my dad to The Springs Memory Care in San Angelo back in February. It's very secure. They have obviously locked doors and magnetic locks, so it's not easy for anybody to get in and out, which is great for Alzheimer's patients. The care has been great. He's actually more interactive because he's getting more stimulus. They have daily programs that they participate in, whether it's arts and crafts, an entertainer that comes by, or they'll bring puppy dogs just to keep them engaged. It's actually been a really great experience. He seems to be doing a lot better from the mental state, so it's been good. The facility has long hallways. It's got an atrium in the middle and an indoor garden that's on the interior of their buildings. The layout is very wide and spacious; so if they do have an accident where they fall, it's not easy for them to fall onto something that will interfere. His living quarters are very simple. Just a bed, a closet, a bathroom, and a sitting chair. He's in a position where the family can come and visit through the window. They make accommodations for the family, even though we have COVID restrictions that would otherwise prevent us from being able to see them. My dad loves their food. He loves to eat, so he's not shying away from their food. I think the cost has been reasonable because my mom hasn't said anything other than having to deal with insurance. They've helped her work through that, so I would have to say it's probably fairly reasonable.

I toured the Springs Memory Care and I liked the people there. I was very impressed with the place. The staff was all very knowledgeable. I had the chance to eat there and the food was excellent. The facility was beautiful and it was well protected. There was a very nice courtyard and an auditorium where the residents could watch movies.

I toured the Springs Memory Care. When I first got there, they gave me an in-depth briefing of what services they deliver, the point at which they are no longer capable of providing care, and kind of a general overview of how their facility works. The residents can come and go as they please, but they have to be escorted. They showed me semi-private rooms and private rooms. They showed me the activity rooms, the cafeteria, and all the amenities that they offer. The rooms are nice. One of the things that I liked about it is you don't have to use their furniture. You can bring in any furniture you want to make it feel more homey. The semi-private room was a little bit small. From the perspective of having two people in the room and having two televisions, I thought that was a little tight. There's a front dining room area, which anyone can use, but they have smaller tables for people that want to dine by themselves. And then they have a larger, more traditional communal dining room area with tables that had four people on them. I thought it was well designed and thoughtful, and took into account personal preferences. Some people may or may not want to dine with others. They have a monthly calendar with a schedule of activities for physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and sensory stimulation. The staff was very knowledgeable, very interested, very empathic, very understanding of the situation, and extremely helpful. Even if we choose not to go with them, they also offered their services from a reference perspective.

The Springs Memory Care seemed really nice, but it was a lot bigger than other places. They have a lot more semi-private rooms so there are two people to each room, and less caregivers fomor re residents. The staff member who gave us the tour was great and very helpful. The place was nice, but not what we needed. They were doing yoga classes when we were there.

My mother stayed at The Springs. She was put in a room with another tenant who was very quiet all day long, but at night was a screamer. So that scared my mother to death. Otherwise, the community was a very nice place. It was very clean, she liked the food there, and she knew a few of the residents, so that was nice. They also had a sing-along activity that we joined once. A clergyman came and sang with all of the residents. They were good about giving my mother her meds, but I didn't take my mother there because they have no wait list. We liked them very much and everybody seemed to be smiling. The staff was friendly and helpful. I shared a lunch with her there and it was good. The building itself looked beautiful.

The Springs is a wonderful memory care residence! It is distinguished by a remarkably clean facility, homey personalized rooms, highly committed, friendly, compassionate interactive staff, and exceptional customized care for the unique and individual needs of each resident. The Springs has been the best thing my family could have gifted our mom and ourselves. The consistency of care, routine, multiple variety of daily scheduled activities (Big Band, Sing -alongs, Elvis day, Bingo, bus trips, dinner on the town, arts&crafts, gardening, and the list goes on) along with staff and other resident interaction have made a miraculous difference in her life. Kudos to the staff! Their diligence is to be commended! Thanks to the hard working loving and personally devoted staff, Mom loves living at The Springs. She once again has a sense of "belonging." My siblings and I are so pleased that she is safe, well cared for, happy and fulfilled. D.Bryan
