We went to Baptist Retirement Community and toured both the high rise and also the residential duplexes. It was a great place to live. The tour was very enjoyable. The young lady that took us on the tour was very cordial and very informative. We did get an application, but we haven't gotten it filled out yet. The apartments were very nice, very good, and very up-to-date. If you rent one of the duplexes, they will come in and refurbish it to bring it back up to the standards of a nice new apartment. We had tried the food sometime ago. In fact, we ate over there a lot before COVID. I think they have great food. The dining area was great, and they say they have remodeled it. I haven't had a chance to see it since it has been remodeled, but they say it's a lot better than it was. It was an excellent place to eat. They have activities. The people I have known there through the years said they have a lot of activities that you can get involved in if you like to. If you don't, you can just kind of stay at home. I think it's very appealing. It's a very nice place. I met some people that we've known for a long time there. One gentleman lives in a home there. The staff during the tour is very well versed on all the information that you need. She didn't have to look around and try to figure it out. She already knew it. She's very good. The activities I've heard that they do there were great.

Baptist Retirement Community was a very nice facility. They offered semi-private rooms. What I liked about the semi-private rooms is that the area that you're in is separated from your roommate by the bathroom. So, you actually get good privacy versus just a curtain. They do have multiple courtyard areas and multiple group meeting areas. The staff member. who gave me the tour was an amazing person. He was the administrative officer of the day, and he was awesome. They had the option of dining in your room with no additional fees associated.

Baptist Retirement Community was a very nice and big community. We ate in their restaurant and the staff was very nice. Everybody in the restaurant was very nice. There are a lot of schoolteachers. You went in, you gave your order and you got your food. It didn't have a big menu. The apartment that I looked at had a kitchen in it, so you could cook your own food if you wanted to. The food I had was good. It was a big apartment. It was a two-bedroom, two-bath, and it had a kitchen, a living room, a patio, and an attached garage. It was a nice apartment. It was very well kept up. The girl who showed it to me talked to me about it and gave me papers on it was accommodating.

Baptist Retirement Community is a place that we are looking at since they are just well known in San Angelo. Not only do they have patio homes, but they graduate into nursing homes too. They have an Alzheimer's care place, and they have a place for people that have Dementia. As someone gets older and if they have those needs, they can take care of you. We just talked to one person, and she was wonderful. She gave us all the information we needed. She gave us pictures of the houses and the layout of some of the houses which you can rent or buy. As far as I know, they have a full time activities director, and they have a lot going on. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.

In Baptist Retirement Community, they have several levels of caregiving. My grandma needs more than just assistance, kind of like a nursing home. The staff is very friendly aside from one or two that we don't really like. Overall, it's great. I think the room is fine; it's clean and is a good size. She doesn't complain, but she hates the food. She doesn't like the taste. When it comes to her room, it's cold.

Baptist Memorial provides various levels of care, from relatively independent apartment living to full-time care and monitoring. In my experience, it seems quite easy for a resident to move to a different level of care as the need arises. If a resident needs additional care, they are not separated from the friends they have made elsewhere on campus. With the different levels of monitoring all on the same site, visitation with other residence is quite simple. The staff is always very friendly and appears to have a genuine concern for each residents well being. There are always activities going on from morning until after dinner. Speaking of dinner, I've eaten in the main cafeteria and it's not bad. Much better than my cafeteria in high school! The negative that I would point out is the age of the infrastructure. There is always some sort of maintenance going on. Aside from the day to day tasks, it seems they are always painting or replacing carpets or updating essential equipment. I know this is required in all facilities and cannot be avoided, but it is distracting at times.

My grandmother lived in this nursing home on the psych ward. The great thing about this facility is the coded locked doors. You don't have to worry about your loved ones escaping and being found days later a few blocks up the highway. As for equipment, they have all your standard slings and ambulatory devices, as well as gated beds and all the other amenities. The nurses there are pros, though i can't speak for the CNA's that work there. Patients are generally well taken care of by the staff as far as I can tell. My favorite part is that patients are gathered if possible at least twice a day for activities like board games and karaoke. There are always plenty of nurses on the floor, and all patients receive a proper amount of attention ( I can't stress enough how important that is). All in all I would highly recommend this facility.
