My father has been in Brookdale Summer Ridge for a couple of weeks now, and he seems to be doing OK there. He has not called me and complained about anything. The apartment is clean, and he has some of the amenities that he needed, like a microwave, a refrigerator, a cabinet, and seats. The place was pretty well equipped. The staff seem to be very professional and polite. If you have any concerns, they always seem to address them in a reasonable amount of time. They also have a courtyard.

I went to Brookdale Summer Ridge. I liked everything about it. It was clean. They have a lot of activities. I didn't taste any of their food, but they say it's very good. The person who took us on a tour couldn't have been nicer or answered our questions better. Everything I saw looked great. I felt like the atmosphere was very nice. The people were very cordial, met me right on time, and showed me everything I wanted to see. I was looking for a two-bedroom and they did have it, and it was very nice. The dining area was large and there were flowers on every table. I saw the menu and it had quite a few choices.

I toured Brookdale Summer Ridge. I like the facility itself, it's very comfortable. Their rooms seem to be very nice, but I thought they were rather small. They had amenities like a courtyard and a library. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, and I was happy to hear that they don't have a terrific turnover in their staff.

I was a volunteer (called BINGO) for 2 years there. They have activities for the residents every day & definitely several things to do weekly. The people who live there are all pretty alert and kind. The employees are always trying their best with what they have available; they treat the residents with the utmost respect. I LOVE the dining area with a baby grand piano (that is used quite a bit during Christmastime). The food is very good and the cafe' staff are very conscientious about making sure each resident gets what is needed.

Brookdale Summer Ridge was fine. I didn't have any concerns except that it's a little bit on the expensive side. The staff was courteous. The rooms were a little small, but doable. I liked some of the rooms, but some I didn't.

I liked Brookdale Summer Ridge because everything was on one level. The room was very nice. The staff member was very nice and answered all my questions. The dining area was very nice. The residents had assigned seats, which I thought was a good idea. They had a very nice enclosed garden area.

Brookdale Summer Ridge seemed clean. However, it was outdated, and all the decor were outdated. They told me they were going to remodel, but they acted like they were putting that off for a little while. That concerned me because I didn't want to move my mother there and have a whole lot of construction going on, uproar, and things changing. The staff who accommodated me was very nice. The rooms were also not updated. I didn't see activities going on, but they told me that they do have them. They had a big dining hall.

My husband has been in Emeritus -- which is now the Brookdale -- for three months. First of all it was close to our place, I had been up there several times and I like the way it looks, the way it was run, and when we sat and talk to the director, he has been there ever since they opened. The average staff person has been there like nine years. It’s clean, it’s pretty, and the people are very good in what they do. I looked at several others in the area that were newer; they didn’t even compare. He gets excellent care, he loves the food, he likes the people, and so far they haven’t really made any issues.

I like Emeritus because it has everything in one level. It is not a high rise. Everything is brand new, beautiful and very clean. It is not the fanciest, but it is modern. My mom is there and she also thinks its beautiful and she likes. I don't think there is any resident there that didn't like it. They have a beautiful garden. The staff has been there for a long time. So, they are experience. It is only fifteen minutes from my house. It is very convenient to everything. There is a big supermarket across the street. There are pharmacies on every corner. There are lots of doctor's and dentist's office nearby. There is a hospital just a few blocks away. They have many activities. They have movies. They take them out. They have everything. There is nothing not to like in the facility. It is also very affordable.

I really like Emeritus. It was one of my choices but that was too far from me. It is also hard to get across the lake and in the afternoon, the traffic is horrible. Nevertheless, I like everything about it. The facility was nice. I like their setup. The staff was absolutely friendly and the people there were really nice. I like Emeritus. The only thing though, their rooms were a little smaller for the price than what I have for my father right now. Their rooms were more like efficiency, which really that's all I needed for him, but I wanted my father to feel like he is in an apartment. They did have bigger ones but they were a lot more expensive than my budget.

Emeritus at Summer Ridge is a wonderful facility. It appealed to us especially because we have family living in the town where it is located. Their units though were not as large as some of the other rooms we saw. However, people there are friendly.

It was a good value. It was a nice facility with caring and knowledgeable people. I thought it would be a good fit for my mother. They had a menu with two sides. On one side it showed what they were having that day and on the other side, it had what would be available that week, if you did not want what was available that day.

My mother is at Emeritus at Summer Ridge. It is a very nice home. It is very clean, and well-maintained. There is a landscape inside the building. The staff was great and if I had any challenges, all I had to do was talk to the person who heads that group and they would take care of it. For the meals, they give you two entrees to choose from. You can pick your own side dish which is very nice. They constantly have something going on every day to keep the people busy. They have exercise activities, bingo and movies. They take them shopping.

I am a physical therapist working for a local home health care agency. I see patients daily in their homes in the community and many assisted living facilities in the area. There is no question in my mind that Summer Ridge provides the best care in the area. The facility itself if decorated beautifully and is kept immaculately clean. There is no "institutional" odor. The residents are as busy as they would like to be with a variety of activities offered to keep them active and engaged. The staff is the BEST!! Truly caring, dedicated individuals who are interested and devoted to the residents. I would, and do, recommend Summer Ridge to anyone who has reached the time in their life when they are in need of additional care.

Their apartments in Emeritus were dark, at least the ones they took as to. They're smaller compared to the ones my mother's in. I think their place is clean and they have good staff. I suggest that they update the place, paint it and brighten things up.

Summer Ridge Assisted living is a great place for the elderly to have a wonderful experience in continuing to live which with the same if not better in the ways they lived before having to go to such a facility. There staff is wonderful and accommodating to their every need but at the same time allowing them to some what take care of themselves and their spaces (rooms) to their own desires. It is nice to see such wonderful people helping our elderly and families continue living in an enriching way. The facility itself is beautiful with peaceful places for the residents to rest or do fun activities with others.

The care at this facility seemed sufficent. Nothing spectacular but not exactly lacking. I had seen mine grand mother in worse nuring homes before. This one thank God lacked the distinct smell of stale urine and defecate. I would be under the assumption that this facility is cleaner than the others. Also, she does not complain about the food as she did at other homes. A lot of people assume its just elderly taste buds not functioning properly, but I have tasted some of the slop they serve at other homes. It is dreadful. The staff here is generally nice and will cater to the elderlys requests without belittling them. They of course have doctors on site that will frequent the residents. A church service is offered on Sundays and also a nice recreation area that helps them pass the time. All in all it is a decent facility to live out your last years on Earth.
