My brother is at Gulf Health Care Center right now. For what they charge, the care he receives is inadequate. I know they're like everybody else, understaffed and underpaid, and I understand all that, but they're doing the best they can. I have to have a COVID test every seven days, but it is really starting to wear on me. I supposed they get the vaccination this week, but they said it doesn't matter, I still have to have a COVID test every week. He doesn't care for his roommate, and I'm going to talk to them about seeing if he can get a different roommate. He doesn't care a lot about the food, but it is adequate, and he's just not eating like he used to. Communication needs some work too. If I missed a call and tried to call them back, I rarely connect to the person I'm trying to reach. The facility appears to be well-maintained, but then again, for as much they charge, I think you ought to be getting a lot more assistance. That's why his bed sores are so bad, because he's not being turned enough.
