The rooms are okay but when there's a maintenance problem be prepared to wait. There are two elevators for residents. One has been out of service for over 3 months and the other one stops running periodically if someone closes the door to the mechanical room. This causes the elevator motor to overheat and shut down. This means that the people on the 2nd and 3rd floors can't get to the dining room or exits until the equipment cools down. This is a serious safety violation! There is only one person on staff to drive people to appointments, shopping at Walmart, or the occasional planned outings for the residents. When she's not there everything is canceled unless one of the office staff happens to be available to drive. Although meals are supposedly planned and a menu sheet is published weekly, there are many many times when what's actually available to be served is nothing like what's on the menu. In the last 6 years there has been a constant turnover in "chefs". There hasn't been one hired yet that knows about what a nourishing and healthy meal looks like. The serving staff is always friendly. However, there is constant turnover. Management is more focused on making the place look pretty rather than addressing maintenance issues. A coat of paint and new furniture don't fix the main issues. Besides the elevators, there are rodent holes along the retaining walls and under the foundation of the building. The downspouts are either crushed or completely disconnected causing rainwater to run into these holes and washing out large areas of exposed sub-foundation. Rent increases every year but where is it going? It's not going to the problems areas that are important to and for seniors. Thankfully my mother agreed to move to a different facility after 6 years.

I toured The Wellington at North Richland Hills. It was extremely clean and very nice, and everything was in order. There was no odor. The lady was very helpful, very kind, very cordial, very energetic, and completely wanting to please us. She took us on the tour and showed us everything she thought we would be interested in. They even invited us to lunch. I was just shocked, and it was the nicest experience. They had really good food. I had a hamburger and it was good. The attention that all of the people gave us at lunch was just so nice. Everything was very clean in the eating area. All of the people that were in the eating area seemed to be very happy and content. The only thing my husband didn't like was, that he smoked, and he would have to leave the comfort of the apartment and go outside to a smoking area. He was concerned about that because in bad weather that could be tough for him. He could manage unless he got sick or something. I thought the bedroom and the closets were okay. The living area where you would have maybe a TV and a sofa is extremely small, but this is our first time to visit anything, so I don't know whether it's a normal room. I would have to get rid of a lot of stuff here. I have a two-bedroom apartment, and it's spacious. The prices the lady quoted me when we went in were upfront and said that this was for me, my husband, and our cat. So she gave us a price, and I said that is something we might be able to do, and she said it was all included in this price, all the meals, all the cleaning, everything was included. Then at the end, when we finished, she gave us a pamphlet, a very nice folder with information in it. So we got home and we got to look at it, and about additional costs. We were told that it was all-inclusive, so we're a little confused. They had a very nice exercise room. The hostess was just a keeper. She was so sweet, and we needed that.

I'm at The Wellington at North Richland Hills. We seem to have a lot of trouble with keeping staff, particularly dining room staff, and we have trouble with cleanliness. We've had an elevator that's been out for over two months, and we only have two elevators in the whole facility for 120 people. The staff depends on who you're talking to. We have some who are really dedicated and will do the same thing for you to help out and seem to want to make it better and then others who just come in and they get their hours in and go home and that's it. We just a few months ago got a new cook and director of the kitchen. It's very hit and miss. We will have a few good days of food that's good and looks nutritious and they will have some days where they're out of everything, maybe the dishes haven't been washed, everything on the plate will be yellow, and we'll have a variety of vegetable, starch and protein. Housekeeping has improved lately. We have a couple of good housekeepers and we have one housekeeper on my floor who is excellent. She will bend over backwards to get everything done. Everything's cleaned, folded, and taken care of. She really does an excellent job. We have bingo, word games, card games, physical activities, chair volleyball and things like that to get us up and moving around and walking and doing what we can. There's something every day planned. We just recently have finally got the director of activities position filled. She's really fine and trying to get that together. We've since redone the library and we've got a few field trips planned. They have told us that they're going to increase our rent every March but yet our services are going downhill instead of up.

Rooms are great. Dining menu is mediocre at best. Dining staff does not seem to last very long, low pay.

The Wellington is a nice place to live and I like it. My complaint is with the food. The chef is inconsistent with meal preparation. There are food items that they run out of such as bacon, baked rolls, ice tea, etc and the food that they order is of a lower quality. There is excessive food waste causing loss of income that I believe is caused by the lower quality of food. I have been told that the corporate makes up the menu and I believe there are times when I believe the chef does know how to make. There are times when the menu says one thing and we were served something else. Weigh the type of food you want before deciding to become a resident. Also, the Director walks around looking like she is going bite everyone's head off. When she talks to you she has this fake smile. Suggestion: Purchase better quality food. Make sure when an item is on the menu have the necessary food in stock. Corporate needs to let the individual chefs prepare the menu. Make sure there are friendly directors.

My father moved into The Wellington at North Richland Hills. We were greeted when we got there. The receptionist called the director. She was the one who took us and showed us around. She showed us where the laundry room was. They have a library, a barbershop, a little store, and a beauty shop. They come to clean your rooms once a week. They wash all your sheets and bed linens. My dad has a single bedroom, and we've got him all fixed up. He's got all of his antiques and stuff hanging in his room. They also fed him lunch. It's a beautiful place. It's three stories. They have balconies. They have fire drills every month. They have a good parking area. There's a kiosk that we go into and sign in at, which is a secure way to let people know who has been there. They've got four different wings, and there are probably eight rooms on each wing downstairs. They feed them good meals three times a day. The staff members are very kind and courteous. When we call them and some work needs to be done, it might take them a day to get it done, but they do get it done. They have a lot of activities. They've got bingo and crafts. They were more reasonable in price.

I think The Wellington at North Richland Hills was the best one we saw. Everything that you could possibly think of in terms of amenity-wise was a bonus, because they had so much to offer. Everything was pretty clean. There was so much for them to do, so many opportunities for seniors to take up hobbies. There was a store, a barber shop, a hair salon, and a nail salon. The best thing that we saw was that they honor veterans, and my father's a veteran. They had like a whole wall dedicated to veterans, and they basically showed how they take the time to appreciate veterans and honor veterans. They had trips, and they had doctors and nurses that come in to treat the occupants like it. Everything that you could possibly think of, they had it. It didn't look like it was a real senior center. It seemed like it was apartment/senior center, and I think that was a big bonus for my dad, because my dad doesn't really feel like he's in that assisted living situation yet. He's very independent, he's very self-sufficient, and he doesn't want to feel like he is in a home. Other places made him feel like we were putting him away, and he's not there yet. I think that if he had to choose, he probably would have chosen that one, but it's just so far away from where we are. The only thing that I don't think they had was a pool. Our tour guide, Trish, was outstanding. I can't even put into words how much we appreciated her, and how she made us feel welcome. She was informative, she was very considerate of some of the things that we were looking for in a senior living apartment. She answered every question. Everything that she did and that she showed us was really up to par. So I think that she really made the experience rewarding as well, because she was very personable, she was very kind, and she was very caring, and for us, that goes a long way. You could show us a crappy place, but the way that you sell it, and the way that you come off and appeal to people will make the difference.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills was nice. I liked the building, and their renovations were up-to-date. The person who gave me the tour was extremely friendly. It's probably the top one that I went to see. I really like the closet at the apartment that I saw and the bathroom was great. They provide three meals a day, it's very clean, and the maintenance was very good and nice.

My 90 year old Mother lived at The Wellington for exactly 2 months before she was EVICTED with 7 days notice to leave! Granted, she suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia, and needs Memory Care - however, my family was shocked she was given only 7 days to vacate the facility! She paid her August rent in FULL and was terminated on Aug 5 with a move-out date of Aug 12 (7 DAYS!) We couldn't move her until Aug 27 because it took a couple weeks to get her assessed & approved at the new facility. The Exec Director promised to reimburse us for any remaining August rent, which was 5 days (Aug 27-Aug 31) in her case. Now that she's moved out, we are fighting to get the 5 days of rent reimbursement and getting the silent treatment! I really liked The Wellington at first, it's been remodeled and it's clean but be careful of the Exec Director who is cut-throat and callous. He doesn't have a kind bone in his body, and if he decides to evict your Loved One, you'll only get 7 days notice!

The Wellington at North Richland Hills was very clean. They're updating the wallpaper and the floors. They're just remodeling it all over, so part of it is done and part of it isn't. The part that's done is lovely. They had a very, very tiny kitchenette. I wished it was just a little bigger. Their common spaces were nice. They had nice little balconies. It's in a very nice area with a nice sidewalk to walk up to a park that's relatively close.

I did a tour of The Wellington at North Richland Hills. It's just too expensive; she couldn't afford that. Her level of income was nowhere near. It was great; I'd recommend it to anybody who could afford it. The staff is great, the rooms look very nice. It's a very clean facility; older facilities, but very nice. When we were taking the tour, there was a group of individual ladies that were in there. The dining area looked very nice and very clean; I didn't see the food, but the facility looked nice. It lacked a couple of things, but just the newness of it, and I mean it's older. You can't do anything about the size of the room. They are small but sufficient enough. That's just the way unless you knock down the building. It was very clean, being an older building.

My dad will be moving into The Wellington at North Richland Hills. It was excellent. I like the staff, the size of the rooms, and the price. The staff were very personable and friendly; they care a lot. It has very large apartments, very large closets, and balconies. The place is very clean and very spacious. It's large, and it's just very well-kept.

We went to The Wellington at North Richland Hills today. We really enjoyed that one. We thought the atmosphere was great, and they did a very good job with the presentation. The staff was very fun and enjoyable. We looked at the rooms, and they showed us all the amenities. He walked us around, and he took time with us and didn't rush us, so it was really nice. They showed us the menus and everything else, so we looked at things. I thought they did a good job. They had the basics, so you can pick out what you like and dont like. So it was really nice seeing the menu, and they said they change it regularly, so that was good. They had a dance hall, a little kitchenette area where you can cook if you wanted to, and a back porch. They took us to the arts-and-crafts area, they walked us around the whole building, and it looked really nice. It was very clean and it showed that most people weren't there. A lot of residents went to Winstar for a trip today.

My father likes The Wellington at North Richland Hills. It was nice and spacious. The prices were good, and it was clean. The staff was very helpful and showed us around to several different apartments. We've seen two studios and two one-bedrooms with different square footages. They had a kitchenette. I like the wood floors; it's easy to move him forward when he's in a wheelchair. They had some good activities that the staff told us about. They had a library, a little workout area, a movie room, some billiards, and pool table. I like that they have transportation for his appointments. They had a courtyard, which I liked, and some trees.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills was a great place. The only thing that I didn't like about it was the bottom floor was not available. I would want to be on the bottom floor because my knees are bad and I've gained weight. Also, it's just too far over. I wish they would build more in this area. Everybody that I met was very agreeable and very friendly. It was a very nice tour. The rooms were nice. They're small, but the place that I have right now is also small. It's just me, and I don't need a lot of space. The place was old, but they had re-done the whole thing. The parking wasn't as secure. They had activities, and the amenities were great. They had a washer and dryer, and linen service. At the time I took the tour, my health was really bad. I was not able to cook for myself, so I liked the fact that they had three meals a day. The food was so awesome that I thought I would live there just for the food. It was so good.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills was kind of dark and rundown. I didn't get a true sense of professionalism from the staff, but they were friendly. There was not a lot of life in the facility and not a lot of activity. It was clean, but it was old. The outside appearance was fine, but parking was a little tight. It felt institutional.

I am writing as a friend of a new resident. Overall she is *very* pleased with The Wellington, with one notable exception: As I sat with her when she went through and signed her agreement/contract, we both heard the Executive Director say that, in addition to basic cable, The Wellington provides internet and WiFi for all units in the Community. She has been able to access the cable TV, but WiFi signal strength in her area of the complex is too week to access the internet or email. I spoke with the Exec. Director but, to make a long story short, even though the Community provides the WiFi, we were told it is my friend's responsibility to purchase a Signal Booster or Modem. The Community refuses to take responsibility for contacting the service vendor in order to resolve the issue. All my friend asks is that the management of her Community honor their commitment to "provide internet and WiFi" to her.

The Wellington at North Richland Hills is a pretty nice place with nice people. The food is pretty good. The staff takes care of whatever I need. There's a housekeeper who cleans once a week and the maintenance people have been nice when I've had problems. The food is average. I have an apartment with a bedroom, a living room, and a little kitchen. They go on trips, play games, work on puzzles, and watch movies. The place is not really luxurious, but I don't need luxury anyway. Overall, it's a pretty good place.

The Wellington (The Wellington at North Richland Hills) is where I ended up for my mom. My mom is liking it a lot. The rooms are spacious at this community. They have an exercise room, a little beauty shop, and barbershop. We ate lunch once, and the food was good. They have lots of different activities going on.

We got my mother into the Wellington. It seemed cleaner. The lighting was better, and the rooms were bigger. I enjoyed talking with the people that run the place. The staff there is excellent. I've eaten there twice, and it is fine. The food is good. They did discuss the activities, and they have quite a few. They go out and take trips. They have transportation. They have a large room with a piano. They have music there once or twice a month for people that come in to play the piano and sing. The residents sing along with them. They have a room for arts and games. We found that it was more economical than others, and there was a lot of feedback on people that really loved it there and enjoyed living there. We looked at other places that were assisted living and rehab. They smelled, the lighting was bad, and I didn't thought it was appropriate.

We did get my mom into a community called The Wellington at North Richland Hills. The facility had more activities, and the people there were more friendly and outgoing. When you go there to visit, they seemed to be having a very good time. They weren’t just sitting there, droopy eyed. They were visiting one another, and they were engaged in activities. They would stop us in the hallway and introduce themselves. They would ask what we were doing there, we said that we are visiting my mother, and they said they loved to have her. There was a lot of personal interest from the residents, and that just really impressed me. The staff was very helpful and excellent. When we walked around with them, they knew the names of the residents. The residents would call them by names. They would comfortably interact with the people who were out and about. You could see there was an affection between both resident and the staff member. The one that we got for mother was a 1-bedroom with a kitchenette, a very nice size. The bathrooms have all of the necessary accoutrements for someone who needs aids and things. The bedroom is large; she has no problem getting around her furniture, even when she needs a wheelchair. There is an excessive amount of space, and there’s a walk-in closet. It’s very well setup for her needs. They have board games and cards, and I noticed after dinner there are about four or five tables were people would get together and play several different type of card games in one of the activity rooms. There is a room designated for movies. They also have a Wii setup in there, and they have Wii bowling that they take very seriously. Every week, there’s root beer floats and they have another activity room where they have a sole kitchen up there. If someone wants to go up and make something for a group of their friends or the family, then they go up. There is everything that you need. We have been very surprised by the quality of the food, and we asked the residents before my mother actually moved in. On several occasions I went over there, and we had lunch with one of the residents. My husband and I had dinner and lunch there. Each unit has a little porch so that the residents can get out and on to their porch. The outside and the front has a long porch with some lovely furniture, and we’ve been having some really lovely days here. We normally see two or three people sitting on the porch. That has just been totally different.

I can highly recommend The Wellington of NRH. Our family toured the facility last week and we were extremely impressed. All the staff was friendly and had been employed there for a long period of time The dining area was very open and reminded us of a resort like a atmosphere. We feel very comfortable for our mother to come and live there.
