I scheduled a tour with StoneCreek of North Richland Hills and was greeted by the gal who does the tours. My first impression was they have skylights everywhere. It's very open and very light. All the other facilities I've been did not have any natural light. StoneCreek of North Richland Hills has real high ceilings with natural light and the rooms are all surrounding the open area. They have a big open space and a dog park there. We bring our dogs pretty much everywhere with us so when my husband is going to be there, he'd like to see the dogs. He can't keep a dog there in the memory care, but I can bring them and sit outside. That impressed me. They have a $500 deposit that's refundable. It just puts you on the list and there is not a commitment. If they come to my name and my husband is not ready, they just go to the next person on the list. The community is very nice. I think it's fairly new because I remember watching it being built.

We went to StoneCreek of North Richland Hills. It's a very nice place. They've got all kind of amenities. However, we're in a 2,000 square-foot house and we're going to have to jam all of our stuff into an 800-square-foot apartment type thing. We've got our house as crowded as it is, so there is no way in the world that you could jam that much in there. We looked at an apartment. It was wheelchair accessible, because that's what I'm in, and that was suitable. They had workout rooms where you could use machines to keep your strength up. They had libraries, which were very well-stocked. They had a dining facility that they had the chefs at. There were restaurant-style food servings. They had a lot of entertainment, like bingo and stuff like that. It was a nice place, but we're just going to stay where we are. Nevertheless, the staff member who gave the tour is top of the line. I like her a lot. She's very personable and very caring. The building itself was sparkling clean, too.

StoneCreek of North Richland Hills was smaller and newer. There wasn't anything wrong with it. The staff was exceptional. They were very positive and very uplifting. The communication they had with all the residents and knowing a little bit about each one that they can engage in. The residents have a communal patio area where if you want to come out and sit in the sunshine, all you have to do is walk out to your backdoors. That was a big plus for my mother, as much as she likes sitting outside. They had all of the amenities. The beauty salon, daily devotional once a week, Bible study, and all sorts of groups, and different areas where people can do things like play games or watch videos.

There is a long waiting list for villas. The exercise facility is small and equipment is out of date. Chelesa and Cat provided the tour. Both were very professional and informative. Stone Creek is a very nice facility.

StoneCreek of North Richland Hills was nice and we had a very good tour. They just offered anything that we would need, and I liked the way the memory care was set up. It was set up very well so that they could all participate and their rooms opened into the dining area so they wouldn't get lost. Another thing they had that I liked well was the number of staff there. There were three staff members, so there was plenty of help for them. I was just very impressed. We looked at the studios and there was plenty of room for a full-size bed, a TV, and a couple of chairs. They had a sink, a cabinet, and a refrigerator. The staff who assisted us was really nice and very vivacious.

StoneCreek of North Richland Hills was two stories, and it was extremely nice. It was very impressive. It is an excellent place to go for people who want a really nice place with lots of really good activities, where people are involved with each other, where they can visit, and make friends. It was beautiful and very well planned. They had very large rooms, a large dining room, and a lot of other amenities. Everybody was happy and nice. The people were very engaged there. They had people in wheelchairs and walkers. Barbi was really good and very experienced. She really knew what she was talking about, explained things extremely well, and was very friendly. We liked her. The other people seemed great. There were people at the front desk. They had check-in and a lot of COVID type policies. It was an impressive place. The facility was incredible. They have a library full of books and a chapel. They have little daily devotionals. I noticed they had a piano. On each floor, there is a little gym. They also had chair exercises that people can go to. They have activities set up. The staff talked about some of the people there, and one of them was in a wheelchair and was able to start walking. I was very impressed, and I'm not easily impressed.

StoneCreek of North Richland Hills assisted living was very good. It was our number one choice. I liked the location, I liked that it's new, that the rooms are bigger than most, and that the kitchens are better equipped. The director did a great job of showing me around. They have a salon and they offer transportation to and from doctors' appointments and shopping. They also have, not just a dining area, but also a place where they can go and get snacks and things like that like a café. They have a garden club and exercise activities that they do. They have music that comes in every week for them. They play bingo and they have all kinds of game activities and all kinds of craft activities for them to do. They have outings that they also take them on as well but that's more for independent living.

We toured StoneCreek North Richland Hills and they looked very nice. Inside it was nice looking, too. I was just disappointed with the size of the rooms, and the dining area was nothing compared to where I am staying now. I can't comment on the food because we didn't get to eat any food, I guess because of COVID. For five or six thousand dollars, I was expecting extreme luxury. I was disappointed that for $6,000 the rooms look like hospital rooms. The dining room wasn't that fancy, and it wasn't very big. It didn't seem like it was accommodating very much to meet people, but that was the COVID situation. I can't judge completely. All I can say is that it's a high price for the accommodation. They didn't go in and show the amenities to us. In fact, when they found out that we couldn't afford that, we were rushed out the door more or less. We really didn't get that much of a tour or information. The manager, more or less, was going over pricing, and like I said, when she found out we couldn't afford her place, it was like, "See you later," type of situation.

StoneCreek is a brand-new community. It was beautiful. The outside and inside of that building is beautiful. It has all the new technology and modern floor plans, but it is very homey. They offer three meals a day. What's really nice is that they allow residents to turn in some of their favorite family recipes, and the chef will make those as well. I like the way they included the residents in that way. The staff members were extremely professional. They were able to answer any questions and offered a lot of helpful resources and information for my dad.
