Brookdale North Richland Hills has been good. My father has one of those little cottages in the back, and it's been a smooth transition all in all. It's a good facility. I've not seen any major issues. It's clean, and the grounds are well kept. His apartment kind of runs independent from the actual facility itself in a way. It's nice, has big rooms, good lighting, is clean, and everything is working for the most part. If we have any issues they come and fix it pretty quick. He's less than impressed with the food though, and it's pretty expensive. It's a homey community at least where he's at. The people there get to know each other, and they've been very supportive and even introduced themselves, so it's very friendly and homey.

I'm in Brookdale North Richland Hills. My home health care is paying for it, and I'm in the assisted living, but all they do is bring me pills. I could dress myself. I can do everything else on my own and I could take my pills of my own. The med techs don't always show up, and other med techs have to do two or more areas, and it's hard on them. I don't think the workers do a very good job. I like activities and there are not many activities here at all. On Christmas, there are some activities, singing and stuff like that. The people that live here are very, very friendly, friendlier than some of the people that work here. Some of the staff are good, some of them are bad. They just now got a new chef, so the food seems to be a little better and a little bit better choices. They have a game called Kings in the Corner, they have bingo, and sometimes they have art projects. My room is OK. I'm getting more used to it. The facility is very nice. They're redoing everything, and it's looking good. I think it's a little high-priced here compared to other places that I've been looking at on the computer.

Brookdale North Richland Hills was beautiful. The staff was very knowledgeable. They gave me a lot of different avenues to try to get my mom taken care of and get someone out to assess her. They're still checking on me because my mom is in an inpatient rehab facility, so they're just waiting. It's a large community and they had lots of activities to keep them busy like exercises and stuff. It's amazing.

I saw Brookdale North Richland Hills. It was a quick, first-glance tour. Everything was more than expected. Very clean, very nicely remodeled. The staff was very helpful, she took me in at a moment's notice, I don't have a scheduled appointment at that time. She was very accommodating, took me in right away, showed me around, and showed me a room, and a floor plan. I did not sample the food. It was lunchtime when I got there. So a lot of folks were eating. The food looked very, very appealing, very appetizing. It seemed like everyone was enjoying their meal.

My wife and I went to Brookdale North Richland Hills first, and then my wife and my mom went down later. We toured everything and met some people. We're shown the room mom would probably be in. It was a single room with a little kitchenette and a bathroom. We were also shown the dining room, the assembly rooms, and the library. We also went outside and saw the veranda and the little walking area they have back there. We spoke to Debbie primarily, and we talk to one nurse and a couple of residents. Debbie is very good. They have games, they go to Wal-Mart every once in a while, as a group, and they cook things together.

I toured Brookdale North Richland Hills with Debbie A. It was very nice and they explained to me what I would have to do. They took me up to the rooms and showed me several rooms that looked very nice. I think I got a better idea of what a one-bedroom apartment looks like. I saw two rooms, and they were really identical except one was on the eastern side and the other one was on the western. They have limited activities, but they try to at least get them out to walk around so they're not just in their rooms. It was very quiet when I went. There were just workers there and I didn't see any other person. I asked about a bridge club and they have that, but I don't think that they're playing at this time. I saw an exercise room, and they also have a spa room where you can get into the like whirlpool thing; they help you climb into that. I saw the dining room which looked nice, and the tables were spread out, but there was nobody in there. They were very nice and I appreciated everything they did. I also talked to Debbie earlier. She was very nice and explained things to me. When I went in they took me to a back stairway door and we went upstairs from there, so I saw very little of the inside, except for the apartments. I could look down the hall a little and I saw where the dining room was. The sitting area that we walked through was very nice with plenty of light. I also did a virtual tour with them and they showed me during that time that they had handrails available for the residents.

Brookdale North Richland Hills is a very nice facility, the rooms were very small, but it's a large community. They did not believe that my mother was active enough for them. It was the closest facility to my home, I liked the people, and they were very nice. They had a library, and they had the same range of activities that everyone had. We had a meal, it was good, they served throughout the day, anytime you want, and in the dining room which was very good. Also it was a bigger facility, and she did not like that. But the people we met were very happy to be there, and we're outgoing, and active.

My father has moved into Brookdale North Richland Hills. Overall, the facility is wonderful and the people are very pleasant and seemed very caring, but very hands-off. I haven't found them to be as assisting with helping us get him acclimated. We have to be a lot more involved than we thought we would. I'm just a little disappointed that I thought that there would be more of a help with the transition and that really hasn't happened. He has a one-bedroom, a wonderful walk-in closet with lots of space, a living room, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. Everybody is really nice, from the residents to the staff, very friendly, but very hands-off. He loves the food, and he is eating well and enjoying his meals. They have an exercise class every morning and regularly scheduled activities every single day, but I wish they have more choices for men. Pricing is fair.

Brookdale NRH has a homey warm feel. Our staff offers a personal touch that you do not find everywhere. I have been at this location, doing hair, for about ten years. I love the atmosphere!

The quality of care services, dining experiences, social engagement and friendliness of this community makes Brookdale NRH the Premier community in North Richland Hills. I would recommend visiting so your loved ones can too experience the exceptional lifestyle that they too could be enjoying daily.

We really liked Brookdale North Richland Hills. It was lovely, and I think I would enjoy living there. They also have meals; you go to the main building for the meals. The place was very nice, and it was like a community. I saw one lady trimming her bushes. They also have a library. They have activities there. In fact, I was invited to a lecture that they were having. We also looked at their cottages.

Brookdale North Richland Hills was very wonderful. It was very open and friendly, and they're receptive to people asking questions even though they're not ready to live there yet. They provided a plethora of information that I needed regarding the age limitations, and what kind of financial numbers I'm looking at for the independent living. They showed me a cottage, which is a really wonderful 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a garage house. It's awesome because you can live there independently but you're also able to participate in all of the activities and things that they do in the main facility. You can also have your meals over there. When it's time to give up the independent living and move to the assisted living portion, you can do that too. It's wonderful to have the other levels available, so you don't have to go to a whole brand-new facility. The staff was fabulous. The main person I worked with, Debbie Allen, stays in contact with me and checks in to see how I'm doing. She even invited me to go to some of their events even though I don't live there yet. She wants me to stop by anytime I'm in the neighborhood, which I will do.

My parents had looked at Brookdale North Richland Hills. It was just too big, and they didn’t feel comfortable there. Everything was nice there. The apartments were nice. The people were friendly. At the time that we were there, they were having a prayer meeting, and they were playing cards or dominoes. There is a lot of people coming and going, so it was more active than my parents. We checked the dining area. It was nice where they had a menu and you could order off the menu.

We visited Horizon Bay (Brookdale North Richland Hills). Well, it was really nice. The staff was very friendly. We looked at some of the cottages. They looked good to me. They’re pretty nice. They’re not new, but it looked like they were well kept. I think the residents were happy.

Brookdale was very nice. I wandered around and talked to the residents and chef, and they were really encouraging me to move in. They have a bus to take you to the doctor, shopping, and church. The common dining area was very nice. The rooms were very nice, and the staff was fantastic.

I was not pleased with the management at Horizon Bay North Richland Hills. They could have been more friendly and outgoing. They offer everything that’s necessary. They have a great dining room. They made a lot of improvements. The staff at the assisted living were always there. They were very good, always there when you need help. They also have an independent living facility.

My wife is at Horizon Bay -- North Richland Hills. We chose it because their marketing director was very informative. She was very helpful and was on top of things with us. I like the facility -- the way it was arranged and the cleanliness. I like their eating facility because it’s more like a restaurant. The food servers are very kind and very nice. The way that the facility was laid out was good. The nurse who visited us for an assessment was very nice. They do have activities every day. They have tours and trips to Walmart every week. They have games, and people come in for musicals.

I didn't like Horizon Bay. I asked for a floor plan, and they didn't have one to give me. Two bedrooms were $3640, and it's only 675 square feet. I only talked to one person. She asked me to stay for lunch, and I didn't choose to. After I saw the place and the people sitting around in wheelchairs, that turned me off right there. I didn't care for it all that much.

We loved Horizon Bay. My husband is very interested in a garage; that's why he liked the cottages here at Horizon Bay. It is very home-like, clean, and well cared for. It is just like a small version of home. It had a garage and a kitchen. Everything is very spacious. Spacious would be a good word for the cottages. It has two bedrooms places that are spacious.

I moved my mom at Horizon Bay North. I chose this because of the proximity of the location. Everybody that I have dealt with that works there is wonderful and took care of my mom very well. My mom says she likes the food, and she is very happy there.

My brother-in-law was in Horizon Bay for two years. He had an excellent room that was in a corner at the end of the hall. It had a nice view. It wasn't kept as clean as I would have liked. He needed the room cleaned more often than once a week. We liked the dining area; it was very nice and the food was great originally. They changed owners; then the menu and presentation changed. They weren't as able to help my brother-in-law anymore. The staff was very friendly and nice to us.

Horizon Bay North Richland Hills is an older place, and it needs a little bit more updating. There's nothing there that really stands out; they're pretty much generic. Horizon Bay was not that nice, and it was not something that I liked. The staff was friendly. They were very open to helping us find the right place for Mom and Dad. They were very receptive. The rooms were smaller. They showed us the activity menu and the agenda that they had for the guests. They also showed us the dining and snack menu.

Horizon Bay was absolutely beautiful. The lady who took us around was very nice and very informative. I would absolutely recommend this place. Mostly I like the sizes of their rooms in the care unit for Alzheimer's. This facility was a secured unit.

Horizon Bay was very impressive. It was very nice. However, for the price, the rooms were not very big. The dining facility was not as nice. They basically had the normal array of activities. It was too far away.

Horizon Bay was my dad's favorite place and I liked it too. It looked like a nice and friendly place. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice, but they were smaller than the ones in the other facility. I didn't eat there. But my father, sister and brother-in-law went for thanksgiving dinner there and they said the food was very good. I saw their dining room and it was nice. It had a happy kind of feeling. They had activities like games, movies and outings. They were less expensive and my dad really liked that they had a dog run because my dad had a little dog and that was a nice thing for him.

It was a really nice facility. The rooms were very nice with lots of windows, very handy to everything. It had washers and driers right next door. The food was absolutely excellent and served all day. They had nurses who were on-call 24-hours a day. They had people there to do your therapy. They had exercise. There was a lot of good things there.

Horizon Bay is kind of a combination of independent living and assisted living. It was not maneuverable for somebody that has difficulty getting around. There were elevators to contend with and the rooms were much smaller than the other places. It would not have worked for our needs. The people working there were very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. If they could place the assisted living residents near the dining hall, that would be a much easier arrangement.

The facility is beautiful, clean and offers a country club feel. The private, independent, apartments are the perfect size, and they allow small pets, my mother has a cat, and also month to month rentals. The services of the facility are about what I would expect; shuttle buses, on call doctors and nurses, housekeeping etc. I was a little disappointed that they did not offer private transportation to and from Doctors for their residents but they assured me they will arrange for a cab to and from the appointment and they are there both when their residents leave and return. I found most of the staff to be very friendly, but a few of the nurses that I had a chance to speak too were abrupt and didn't seem to appreciate my hypothetical questions on how they would handle my mothers care. Other than that though I was very impressed. Though this is the first facility that I have toured in person it had excellent reviews and came recommended and I wasn't disappointed.

We went to visit the Horizon Bay - North Richland Hills assisted living facility, when visiting possible place for our aunt. We could see how well the grounds were tended "“ and there was plenty of outside benches and walking areas for residents to get exercise outside safely. All of the community rooms were easy access, nicely designed, spacious and had comforting decors. The residents socialize, read, watch movies and TV, create crafts, play games and use the computer. The senior's living spaces were nicely decorated with their own furnishings to provide the most comfort. The casual dining rooms had beautiful furniture "“ with nice designs for easy access. The formal dining area room hosts special events, parties and can be reserved by the residents for their own private use. The menu options featured a wide and interesting and healthy foods for every dietary need. The meals we saw appeared to be very appetizing. The snacks looked equally interesting and nutritious and are offered regularly and any time the seniors request them. Residents can use the fitness room for classes, or for specially designed programs designed for the training equipment. There are fitness experts who visit regularly to instruct the seniors for the best experience. Many of the residents choose to enjoy most of their exercise outside since the mild climate in Texas is conducive to this. The staff takes residents on walks regularly where they can enjoy each other's companies as well as nature. The residents also get taken into the city to enjoy many excursions and participate in the events of the art museums, galleries, music venues and go shopping. There are also plentiful casual and fine dining establishments for the seniors to enjoy every time they visit the various surrounding cities. The residents seemed to really enjoy living here. Everyone looked calm and peaceful, yet engaged in their lives with the kind and caring staff. Residents here are all encouraged to be as independent as possible, but get assistance easily whenever they require it.
