I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed at Willowbrook Nursing Center for a couple of weeks. They were good. They had good nurses and good assistants to the nurses. All of the therapy people were so nice and talked to me and joked around with me. And so it just made it a lot easier to have somebody that was talking to you and trying to find out what was going on. I hurt my back, so they were putting the heat packs on there. And it was very good. I liked it. I had thought about going and staying there, but then I remembered I felt more at home at the other facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt was in Willowbrook Nursing Center for rehabilitation. I also had my mother there three years prior and it was wonderful, but it had gone down so bad by the time my aunt was there that I would give it a two-star. The building needed a lot of work. It was dirty. There were cockroaches everywhere. My aunt was in there for an infected foot and it was worse when she left than when she got there. Because she was in rehabilitation, they did not include her in any of the activities. I don't know if they were still going by COVID rules at the time, but anybody in rehabilitation couldn't go any further down the hall, so they weren't included in any of the activities or anything. The food was terrible. It was always like a cold cheese sandwich or something. Even for her Christmas dinner, she had a cold hotdog with nothing on it. It was just a cold bun and a wiener on a plate with a bag of chips. It just was not good. It was not worth the money for her to not get the care that she needed.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed at Willowbrook Nursing Center for rehab. It was OK, but there weren't enough smoking breaks. The facility was good and I liked it. The food was OK, and the staff was very good. I liked my room very much. The staff was very good too.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother stayed at Willowbrook about a little over a month, and she required pretty much 24-hour care. They put a lot of padding around her bed and a device so that when she shifted her weight or moved, the alarm would go off. The nursing staff called me about every other day to let me know her condition, how she reacted, how she ate, what her vital signs were, and I really appreciated that. One of the reasons we moved her here is because they also are a rehab center so that she could perhaps walk again with the aid of a walker. As far as the food, I ate with her three times -- they allow family members to do that for a small fee -- and we were eating a diet which was designed for octogenarians, but it was very good. It was not overly spicy, it was well cooked, and it was also very varied. They would give them Italian food on one day, and they might have Mexican food the next. They would make provisions. She was in a shared room, which was always very clean, and there was a heavy curtain divider between the two. Each one of them had their own climate control, entertainment and sitting areas, and individual closets, and they shared a bathroom. We were always very pleased to see that mom was dressed, her hair was combed and fixed, and that she was always very clean and looked very comfortable. We didn't experience anything that was unpleasant at the time that she was there. The grounds were very nice, clean, and well maintained. It is a large facility, and they have some fairly extensive grounds inside a controlled area. They have a lot of room for their folks who can walk around without worrying about them wandering off.
