This is a wonderful facility that cares about its residents. They took such great care of my mother and I was so happy we found MHC. The admin staff helped my family through all necessary steps needed for her to stay in their facility. The day to day care of the nursing staff was amazing. There were several nurses and aides that went the extra mile caring for my mother and making her comfortable. The administration, therapy and nursing staff care about families, residents and each other. I would highly recommend this beautiful facility to anyone. My family can not thank them enough.

My grandfather couldn’t get the help he needed in a timely manner or at all in some cases. He needed a shower bench and assistance with his shower and someone came and took his shower bench from his restroom. He also wouldn’t get his morning meds until sometimes noon. The nurses would be on their cell phones with personal calls for sometimes 30 minutes. He is not happy here at all and is struggling with the choice to stay or not because he wants his therapy but not all the other things. He didn’t come here to be stressed especially after heart surgery and he and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

My wife was transferred from the Waxahachie hospital to this facility 3 weeks ago (March 2020). Almost 18 upper management people came to introduce themselves (most of them should be replaced with patient-care employees instead of paper-pushers) and I filled out about 30 pages of entrance forms. The beautiful lobby and courtyard is where the owner spent the money, not the patient rooms, which were stark and depressing. Most of her 2-week stay was in lock-down, because of Coronavirus, so I couldn't see her. She was confined to her room exclusively except for time at physical therapy. If there was an activity director, I was not aware of it and my wife had no interaction with anyone outside of nurses and food tray deliverers. I called several times to get update on her progress to regain her ability to walk, without success. I called the nurse’s station several times to check on my wife. I was told her nurse would call me right back, but never did. The food was frequently cold and staff neglected to help her with eating. When the Administrator/Owner and his head people came to have a prescheduled meeting with me they merely wanted to reinforce their policies and didn't even ask me if I had any concerns. Over 30 years ago I was a Nursing Home Administrator, and finished my career there supervising 13 nursing homes, so I think I know what I’m talking about. From my experience, the friendliness, and cheerfulness of the staff is a direct reflection of the Administrator, which explains why the place is so depressing and unaccommodating. Out of about 30 TV stations fed to her room, none were Christian. No activities, no social interaction and no spiritual influence. I couldn’t get her out of there soon enough. No doctor came to see her (while I was there and none that she knew of), but I have received over $1,000 worth of charges from two doctors that do have patients there. Some staff was friendly, but they were the exception. I am thankful she didn’t contract the Coronavirus while a patient there.

Midlothian Healthcare Center was absolutely beautiful, and it probably would be my choice. First of all, it is close to my house, and the facility itself was just beautiful. I’m not sure that they have a total lockdown, and that’s going to be a bit of an issue because my father can get away. The people were very nice, but I didn’t see a lot of the caregivers. The facility was clean and organized.
