I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

From day one the staff has gone over & beyond to make my family member's stay exceptional. All departments have caring & attentive staff. Rooms are spacious with a TV provided. Heating & cooling units with thermostats are in each room and are controlled by the resident. The dietary department is to be commended for providing exceptionally delicious meals and residents have other meal options if another choice is desired. Most importantly, the corporate company promotes Christian values as reflected in the staff's interactions I highly recommend Skilled Care of Mexia to anyone searching for skilled care services !

I am/was a resident of this facility

This is a fairly new Nursing Home and Rehab located in Mexia, Tx. I was there just recently for a 2 week stay in Rehab after being in ICU 8 days and Hospital For 6 days due to pneumonia. This facility and staff is like no other I have experienced through the years with other family members. The Rehab Dept consists of Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy. The best group I have ever worked with even as an out patient in other facilities. The nursing staff is very caring and kind. They answer the call lights pretty promptly. The rooms are set up like you have your own room even though you have a roommate. You have separate areas and are not crammed into the room. Each room has its own bathroom and shower that is fine in granite and tile. The food is A+. Never had a bad meal my whole stay. They will even fry your eggs for you if you prefer that over scrambled. The administrator of the facility drove to Waco on a Saturday afternoon to put City me up from Providence Hospital. There aren’t enough words to convey how much I loved this facility and the people who work there. If the day was to ever come that I had to go to anirsibg home this is where I would chose, and I live 25 miles from this facility,,but Fairfield has nothing in the way of care that the staff at SCOMhasvfor their residents. They are living, kind, and enjoy their jobs and it shows in the care they give their residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We "Thank God" for Skilled Care of Mexia. My aunt recently became a resident there and she absolutely loves it. She calls me everyday to tell me how happy she is and that she is so glad that she decided to move there. This is a state of the art facility with an awesome staff that provides quality care and they truly care and have compassion for the seniors that reside there. This place has truly been a rescue for my aunt due to fact of her previous nursing home experience. I am at peace now knowing that she is in good hands and receiving the best care possible. We are so grateful for "Skilled Care Of Mexia" truly a blessing in every way. Thank you!!!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been in Skilled Care Of Mexia for almost a month now. She is enjoying it so far. It's a new place. There are nurses there at the facility. She loves the food and she can eat in the dining hall or they can serve her in her room. She has a semi-private room. It's not like two people in a hospital room. There are two separate rooms, which she likes because she has privacy. She enjoys the food and she gets to order what she wants. This facility has been open for less than two months. There was an old one there and they tore it down and they just built a new one. The staff has been very attentive to her and looks after her. It's brand-new and very clean. They do her laundry, do her hair, and do everything.
