My mother-in-law was in Cedar Lake Nursing Home. They were awesome. I loved them. It was family owned. I have nothing bad to say. They were excellent, superiorm in every way, because I was up there almost every single day that she was there. It was a big challenge during COVID; it wasn't their fault. It was older, but it was extremely well kept up. It looked aged inside, but everything looked perfect. The staff were attentive. The social workers were attentive. She got her hair done every couple of weeks. They had a beautician there. They had games. They had activities. She wasn't able to go out on any of the excursions they had, but that was OK. And it was so pleasant. Very pleasant. It did not smell like a nursing home when you got there in the mornings. Always clean. Always extremely clean. She never complained about the food.

My sister was in Cedar Lake Nursing Home when she broke her ankle. The nursing home atmosphere is a lot different than the assisted living, you know, it's nowhere near as nice, and when she was in there, it was during the COVID, so we had the visit through the window and sit outside and visit with her, and she hated every minute. It was her not wanting to be there more than it was their care, because their care was good. They took them shopping, and they had bingo and different games, and movies and stuff, too. It's right on the main road and that's right down the street from me, so it was perfect

Over the years I promised my mother I would never place her in a nursing home. She has been in an upscale assisted living center in West Texas, but her physical and mental health qualified her for hospice and mandated a skilled nursing facility. I was prepared to feel guilty and would have but for Cedar Lake! I could not ask for better care for my mother. I visit every day and have had a golden opportunity to observe where I entrusted my mother's care. * Facility: clean, no smell & no cover-up "fragrance" * Staff: genuine care-taking -- they care; knowledgeable; "not my job" attitude does not exist; happy chatter in the hallways between staff and residents Meds: strict protocol and timely Residents: well dressed & groomed Food: tastes good; meals served in room are hot; colorful presentations; timely Ownership: family owned for many years My 98-year old mother is clean, well fed, safe, and comfortable.

Cedar Lake is a family owned and run nursing home. It is nice and clean and the workers are very nice. The patients seem happier than many places I've visited. There are always lots of activities going on. I've eaten there many times and the food is good. They have salad and soup bars. It is the nursing home I would go to if I ever needed nursing care.

Not only have I been a resident of Cedar Lake Nursing Home twice, I am an owner of it, retired now, but still hang around a lot. My family has owned Cedar Lake for 51 years so maybe I am a little prejudiced, but I think it is wonderful. Excellent staff, Great food, Great care, Super activity program, with outings often available. Light and airy, never smells bad, even though our "new" building is 25 years old now. It is well kept up, but I gave it only 4 stars for facility since it is not brand new like one area competitor. Check Cedar Lake's Facebook page to learn a little more about the place. Large fully staffed Rehabilitation Department. Located on 7 wooded acres.
