My husband moved into Southland Health Care Center. They've been very good to him. I have had no problems with them so far. The staff members have all been very nice. His room is like a hospital room, but there's nothing bad about it. It's comfortable. The dining area looks nice. They play cards and dominoes. It's about 15 minutes from where we live.

Highly DO NOT recommend this facility Dementia/Alzheimer unit not secure - my dad was able to get out twice - once for 45 minutes and in the woods with 3 nurses standing my his door not checking on him DON and Administrator will tell you take them home and let them die!!!!! Do not follow the primary care physicians orders on medication

My father stayed at Southland Health Care Center. He had a good overall experience. The facility was older and there were lots of people in there. It's not bad. It's just not great. The staff was above average. His room was average. The dining area was not overly good or really bad. It was just OK.

Every time I visit my dad he is wet or dirty. We have been requesting a haircut for five weeks and no one can tell us why he hasn't had one yet. Administration won't return my emails or calls. I wouldn't recommend this facility.

My great-grandmother, who suffered from Alzheimer's, was a resident there for over a year. During her residency there, I found the staff to be both friendly and genuinely concerned about her. The facility was always clean although it should definitely be updated. However, the staff was always so helpful and kind. I can only think of one thing that disappointed me at first on one of my visits. When I arrived, my great-grandmother was lying in her bed and had wet herself. The aide came in right after I did and asked if I could help convince her to get up so she could change her bed and her. My great-grandmother would not cooperate. After much convincing, we got her up and the aide quickly changed her bed while I changed her. The aide was so greatful and so sweet that I knew she had been frustrated and did not leave her in her bed on purpose. When my great-grandmother passed away, I was astonished at the number of employees from that facility that either came by the funeral home and signed the book, attended visitation, and/or attended the funeral itself. I just cannot say enough about the care and attention she was given.

My Grandfather, Grandfather-in-law, and father-in-law have all been residents at Southland. This should speak for itself. This place has to be good or why would we let 3 of our most loved family memebers live there. The staff really cares.
