I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The care is second to none. Fancy buildings with crappy care do not impress me. You can feel the love when you walk in the building. Everyone is treated like family. The building is old, but the love is renewed every day. The residents feel at home, the food is good and the nurses are exceptional. The staff always notify you if something is going on or condition of family changes.

I visited this facility

We actually didn't care for Golden Age Nursing Home. As soon as we could politely leave, we left. It was a very sad place. It was just sad to see the people there in that degree of disability and my aunt is not at that point yet. It did look like everybody was well cared for there. This facility was just one of those stereotypical nursing homes. Also they didn't have any room available at that time.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother was a resident here for almost a year. While the building is old and run-down, the care was pretty good. The Nurses and Aides really seemed to care about her and when I was there I almost never saw her looking dirty or needing to be changed. The facility itself appears to be very old and needs a lot of work to update it and make it look presentable, the appearance itself gives you an automatic negative feeling about the place; however, unlike many nursing homes I've visited, there seems to be enough staff to assist the patients and you hardly ever see or hear a resident calling for "help" constantly like you do at other places. My overall feeling is that this is a place for low-income people and that the building really, really, needs work; but the care is good and in the end that's what really counts.
