My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock. She has a one-bedroom with a living room and a full kitchen. The price is like $1,000 less than all the others that we looked at or talked to. She only pays $2,250 a month. She doesn't like their food though. They don't have very good food, but everything about the apartment is wonderful. The staff is great. They go and check on her if she doesn't push her button. She gets good care, and they're very pleasant and nice. It's hard when you're cooking for 150 people. You have to make it soft and bland for some people. For my mother-in-law, it doesn't have any flavor. She's an extremely picky person. I've only eaten there twice. She does exercise classes, Bible classes, movies, and arts and crafts. They do a lot. They do a real good job on that. They put brand new carpet in her room before she moved in. They come in and do the housekeeping. It's great. It's considerably cheaper than all the others I checked out, and I think it's very nice for the price.

I visited Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock. They have older clientele. It looked like it was busy and active. The people were active, but they were more assisted living and not independent than I am used to. It's a very dated facility, but it has excellent food. They treated me to lunch. They apartments are very old; the appliances are very old and they're very dated. They're keeping it up really well. They just don't upgrade things very often. They had an oven range in one apartment that was from the 1970s; even though it still worked, it's just kind of old. They did have activities, and it looked like they were participating really well. It had a pool, a gym, and a big room where they were playing puzzles and card games. They had a nice eating area. There were plenty of places for people to do things and congregate. I'm speaking as an independent living person, and even though they have independent living facilities, it's not something an independent person would really want. It needs to be somebody who's a bit older. I only met the salesperson, and she was wonderful.

I toured Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock and it went great. They had very friendly people. The square footage of their rooms were larger than the other ones. Everyone still had their masks on, too. So, we loved everything about it.

We chose Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock for my mom because it's very warm, caring, and extremely friendly (not just the staff, but the residents). They have good food, and everything's very conveniently located. They were very thoughtful, extremely friendly, and have very happy residents I've seen. The staff that I met were also extremely friendly and helpful. They have 3 meals a day. They have outings where they can actually go out. They take them out to lunch on Fridays, to the movies, to appointments, or to the grocery store. They have activities on the campus where they have a workout facility. They have a salon. They have movie nights, and there are Bible studies throughout the week.

The thing I didn't like about Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock was the long, narrow hallways that you have to walk through; it felt very enclosed. I didn't particularly like that one. Otherwise, the people were very nice and everything. They showed me around and explained things to me. The place was also clean.

My mother is in Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock. I like the staff and food. There are lots of activities, and she's safe there. Her room is nice and spacious. It's a really good place for her. She goes to exercise class almost daily. They have speakers come in and birthday parties. There's always somebody in one of the rooms playing games whether it's dominos or cards, plus there's a puzzle room, and they go to Wal-Mart and United grocery store. They have something going on every day. Her room has a full kitchen and plenty of closet space. We were able to put all her bedroom furniture into her bedroom and she still has room to walk around her bed with her walker. She's got a beautiful view of the courtyard and walk-in shower, so she doesn't have to worry about tripping while getting into the shower. It's really a very nice place for seniors.

A very clean environment that has a caring staff. The kitchen staff are great. Residents are checked on often and helped in many personal ways. The bus that carries residents to appointments is a great help.

My father was a resident at Brookdale in Lubbock for two and a half years. He moved from New Mexico to Lubbock to be near his children and his grandchildren. They were two of the best years of his life. He found companship and was well cared for in this loving environment. He made friends, enjoyed the activities and was especially fond of the excellent food provided. Recently he passed following his 90th birthday and my brothers and I are so grateful for the wonderful experience he had a a resident at Brookdale until the end of his life. The staff and his fellow residents have created a very special retirement home, whose mission is outstanding. Erin Owens

I know several people at Brookdale Grand Court, and I know the manager of the facility. I had lunch there. The hospitality was wonderful, and the food was very good. The entire building was very clean. It is near a church where I could go to. Although it is an older facility, but it is well-cared for. It is a very friendly, and hospitable community.

I visited Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock for my aunt. The facility was nice and clean, and seemed newer and well maintained. The director/sales manager really went out of their way to help. The rooms were very nice and clean. It didn’t look like they need to update their rooms since they well-cared for. I would like to point out that the staff there knew people by name.

We went to Grand Court Lubbock. Unfortunately, the marketing person turned me off. We went over there without an appointment, and she was not there. The lady behind the desk started giving us a little tour. About halfway through our tour, the marketing person came. She looked at me and said I was too young. I was there to get information. I was disappointed with her attitude. The facility seemed homey. It looked pretty good on the outside. It had a nice large dining room.

My sister has a one bedroom and a living area at Brookdale Grand Court Lubbock and she also has a small kitchen. It’s nice and clean. They have some live music from time to time as well as guest speakers and discussions. The staff is very nice and seemed to be very helpful.

My mother is in Grand Court. The apartment she had that was available at that place better suited our needs, and it was more spacious. They prepared part of the food, they prepared her meals, and they help her with housekeeping, but that’s all. My daughter-in-law who lives in Lubbock was familiar with people who worked at that facility because she had known somebody that lived there before. It came recommended to us and also the location; it’s kind of a very convenient location for us. I would describe it as excellent. I thought everything was done very well.

I just wanted to express my appreciation to the staff of Grand Court for the care and concern that you gave to my parents and actually to everyone there. My parents were having much trouble keeping their eating habits regular, their medications straight and were more and more often ending up in the doctor's office or the hospital. When they moved to Grand Court, they never had issues with numbers (blood pressure and coumadin levels) being out of range again. I contribute this to the attention and care given by the staff of Grand Court and Calvert nurses. They had regular (nutritional meals) three times a day, seven days a week. This made a lot of difference in their overall health. They didn't have to worry about whether or not they had taken their medication, or even ordering it. It was always given to them on time and family was notified if there was ever a problem. They had no worries, as the room was cleared for them, food prepared and served, laundry done, hair services in-house, and nursing service around the clock. We have moved my mother-in-law to Grand Court because of the great care my parents received. She was having issues being at home by herself and ending up in the hospital about every other month. mainly because she wasn't eating right or taking her medication. She couldn't remember if she took it and might take two doses or not take it at all. She has been in Grand Court for 14 months now and has not even had one issue. She eats three good meals a day and couldn't be happier. She, like everyone else, never thought she would have to leave her home, but she herself says she couldn't be happier. We tease her that she is just pampered and she loves it. She also loves the friends she has made and loves all the programs provided. I can't thank the entire staff enough for all you have done for my parents and also for my mother-in-law. You are wonderful and greatly appreciated.

I went to Grand Court Lubbock and I thought they were a good fit for me and they met my needs at the time. I needed a small place to get around with, while I was in a wheelchair since I couldn't walk at that time. I had a small living room, bedroom, bathroom and a little kitchenette. It was very adequate for my needs and I brought my own furniture. The food was very good for the most part of my stay there. They had church service every Sunday and I liked going to church. There were musical programs and a full schedule of things to do all the time. The staff was helpful and I liked the residents that lived there. It was a good place to live and I enjoyed it. I had recommended this place to other people.

It was nice. They had a very good selection of food to eat. The two-bedroom was spacious. It was a great facility. It was just not what my parents needed.

The place seemed old, but was well kept and clean. There was a nice central area for the residents to watch TV and play games. There were also bingo "classes" and other events where the residents would come together in a room and a nurse or staff member would run the show. Family was allowed to sit in. It did seem the place was slightly understaffed - in my opinion, not the people I visited with - as there were some elderly people sitting around by themselves who were plainly out of it and possibly a danger to themselves. The staff seemed kind but harried. Many of the staff members/nurses seemed very young and high energy and sweet. The residents who were more cognizant seemed to like them alot/knew them by name. The residents who were more out of it seemed well taken care of.

Me and my Mother visited this senior living center awhile back for my Grandmother, who was going to have to sell her house in Plainview and get something that offered the amenities she needed. This place was incredible! They had all the bells and whistles needed, and it was actually just down the street from where we lived. I was amazed at the staff attention and the cleanliness of the facility, and they had all kinds of activities that were available to her. Unfortunately, it was way out of her price range. The good thing was it did get her excited about the prospect of moving into a retirement center, and certainly made things easier on us as she was a bit reluctant to give up her individual freedoms. Definitely worth the look if you can afford it!
