Longview Hill Nursing And Rehabilitation Center had the secure dementia unit that we were looking for, and it was only women, so that was important. It was clean, bright, didn't smell bad, and the staff and the residents that we saw on the tour looked happy and satisfied. We also had a family there in the past and they said they were good. Medicaid only pays for a semi-private, so that's what my mom will have. It's in a secure hallway that they can't get out of without somebody who knows the code. Each semi-private room has a bathroom and a shower. This had a toilet, sink, and shower that just the two people in the room had to share. They also do therapy. We looked at the list of activities on the board and they had a lot going on, like bingo and stuff. They have their own little sitting area with a TV, couches, and tables, and then they have their own enclosed little courtyard that they can go in and out of. Everything was nice looking. It's been recently remodeled and it was bought out by Regency Health Services, I believe, just last year.

Longview Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was very nice. My cousin would have had a double room and shared a room with somebody and a bathroom. They had a large living or community area that was nice. They will say anything to your face, but they do not get back to you. They told me they would call me tomorrow. They never called me. They told me they needed more paperwork. I did it and they said, "We're going to go over it and we'll get back to you" and they didn't get back to me. They played this game for about a week and a half and it was absolutely heartbreaking for me. I called them three times a day. I finally stopped calling them and they have never asked me why. I'm sure they want private pay and my cousin was not private pay. They should have just had the courage to tell me they wanted private pay or we can't take her. They couldn't even tell me yes or no or anything. They just strung me along. They were doing a lot. They had Halloween trick-or-treaters coming through and they had a Halloween party and they had a big room with a TV and piano, and they could go outside. They need to get back to the caregivers when they say they're going to. They need to return phone calls. If they don't want Medicaid pending patients, then they need to be saying that.
