I visited this facility

I liked Sodalis Lake Jackson better than the other place. The rooms were a little bigger and the layout was a little more convenient for somebody with limited mobility. I didn't interact that much with the staff, but the employee I did the tour with was very knowledgeable and knew all the little issues we had. She did a very good job. I saw meals being served. They looked appetizing, but I did not try. The facility seemed nice. Everything seemed to be there that you would need.

I visited this facility

We visited the Sodalis Lake Jackson. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating, the facility was clean, and overall very nice. Looking at the facility, the rooms were kind of small but the layout was nice. They had a harp player playing during the time we were there. It would be nice if they improve in terms of cost and if they accepted Medicaid, that would be beneficial.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I am currently at Sodalis Lake Jackson. It's assisted living so I don't have a stove or anything in this room. It's just a room with a refrigerator and a sink. It's a very nice place, but the only thing I don't like is it's not independent living. I want a kitchen, I want a stove to cook for myself, that's the only thing that I don't like. The food's pretty good and the management is nice. Overall, it's a nice place. I have one-room with two closets and a bathroom. It's just one room with a bed and everything is in one room. They exercise every morning, they have bingo, and they have happy hour on Wednesdays and Fridays. This next Monday they're going to have bingo, next Monday they're going to have Cornhole Tournament, and then they're going to have a hot fudge sundae bar. So it's a nice place. I have been happy here, so I would rate the staff highly. If I look at the activities calendar, they have something every day. The facilities are very clean. I think it's very expensive for what I pay for, for one room plus meals. I'm content here, they give me my meds in the morning.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I like the staff of Elmcroft of Lake Jackson. They are super caring, super compassionate, and very helpful in any questions that I have. I like the facility layout, and I know that my sister enjoys the food there as well. The place itself is very clean and I think we're getting our money's worth there for sure.

I have my uncle at Elmcroft of Lake Jackson and I love this place. Their assisted living home is just awesome, and I wish I could get my mom in there. It's just friendly, laid back, and very clean. The people are very nice and they're like family. They always have some extracurricular activities going on every day. They have a calendar that's full of things that they do. They play bingo and they have good music. Before COVID, they would load them up and take them to the beach or Wal-Mart or somewhere like that, but when COVID hit, it kind of slowed things down. It's also very veteran-oriented and make them feel special too. The staff is very caring and we know them, pretty well. They get to know you, and you become part of their family. Although t's an older facility, it's a very comfortable place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law moved into Elmcroft of Lake Jackson. So far, it's good, it's been a few days since she went in. The staff is helpful. The meals were okay, and she's a picky eater. They do games, she has TV in her room, and she's in like a studio. They've been really good, and they were the most helpful of all the places I talked to.

Other

Although the place is nice and a few staff genially care the others are only there because of the job after my Dad had been there a while the friendly caring staff gradually started to show their true indifference to there residents I observed this after Dad being there for about a year The only thing they truly care about one thing and that is Money .The staff that did care left for other jobs

I visited this facility

Elmcroft of Lake Jackson was very pleasant and well maintained. You could tell that the residents were more at home. The staff was very friendly. It didn't seem like they hated the job like at some places I had been. Overall, I got a good impression. The rooms were nice and freshly painted. It was like moving into a new apartment. They had activity rooms, areas for group events, and several events for just women and events for just men. It seemed to cater to different wants. They had transportation for doctors, which was a big concern for us. The staff was great.

Elmcroft in Lake Jackson, Texas is wonderful. Our mom has been a resident there for 7 years now, and I can tell you from experience that the management team and all who work there are very caring people. Our mom is a diabetic and she is monitored very closely at Elmcroft, which resulted in her health improving 110% within the first year. She enjoys a variety of activities and has many friends. My sister and I are truly grateful to see our mom so happy, and to hear her refer to Elmcroft Assisted Living as "home".

I visited this facility

My experience at Elmcroft of Lake Jackson was great. I loved it, and I loved the people there. They were great and very kind, caring, and helpful. I thought they were beautiful, calm, and clean, and if I had to choose a place for my dad, that's exactly what I would choose. I got a schedule of activities, and it was on a daily basis. They had something for them to do and try to keep them entertained. I was there at lunch time, and I thought the dining room was nice. The place had no smell, and I could go in there and I sat down, ate with my dad, and had no problem eating the food or was worried about if I'm going to get something. I was very impressed with Elmcroft and the people care. They were so caring, and not one but 2 people came out, talked to me, and showed me around. They explained it to my dad even though he was not really comprehending, and they tried so hard.

Elmcroft was comparable. There were residents out and about and all seemed happy. The staff was all friendly and they seemed like they actually cared about their residents. Everything was clean, nice, neat, and new. They would take a bunch of them to a concert at the Global Junior College to see country singer, about which they were all excited. I like they have a bus service that took the residents to Walmart, pharmacies and doctors' visits, which was a plus. All of the residents that we spoke to seemed very happy and didn’t mind being there. The rooms were a little bigger than others and had a little refrigerator. It’s spacious, and all the rooms we saw had windows, which is a plus.

Elmcroft of Lake Jackson is more for people who needs medical care. There were lots of people in wheelchairs and a number of them actually have carers who come everyday to be with them in their apartments. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. I've observed everybody across the board has been very good and helpful. Their accommodations were sort of like a hospital. The rooms were set up like an apartment but not like it are over at the other facility. The bed is visible from the entry way, sort of like a hospital. My husband has gone to give Sunday evening little ministry in the dining room and the residents were eating while he was taking, they have a nice plateful of food and they looked like they're really enjoying it. They did have activity calendar but it was not as full of activities for the people. They did have transportation provided for those who are able to get out.

How do I thank Tracy and her team enough! I visited Elmcroft 2 years ago for my mom, but decided to go with independent living instead. Boy what a mistake I made......we got her there in the end but we should have had her there the whole time. The warm and fuzzy feeling you get from the first time you walk in the door is Great!!!! The love and care they gave my mom was nothing but WONDERFUL!!!!! From the house keepers to the floor staff to the managers I can't say enough good things about them all!!!!!!! So, if you ever have the need for assisted living I highly recommend Elmcroft of Lake Jackson and the whole team there. Don't stop doing what your doing!!!!!

It looked very nice when I toured the facility. They used silver wares and food is good. They have 3 meals a day, but price-wise it wouldn't leave money to do anything. I have planned things for the summer and I wouldn't be able to do these things if I live here. It's a good place but it's just not the place for me at this time anyway.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff is great here. They're friendly, helpful and they really get to know the residents and the families. They're very involved with the residents. They also do a good job with memory care. They get regular training for that.Activities are excellent. There are individual activities as well as group activities, and they work hard to draw in families and the community. There's always something going on to draw the community in: ice cream socials, movie night, etc. The food is good, too. The cooking staff is highly trained and responsive to special diets and special requests.
