I'm in Whitley Place. They have been very good to me from the minute I came in. The staff's work attitude is very good. I just think they need more employees. They serve you like home-cooked meals and that makes you feel more comfortable. Housekeeping and maintenance are fine, but they don't really come in my room. They clean it, but other than that, they don't do anything in it. There are lots of different things every day. They have games and informational programs. They keep you occupied almost all day. You're not just sitting in your room looking at the wall. The staff here tries very hard to keep you safe and healthy and fed well. They're like our mothers. They're very, very kind to me here.

Whitley Place is a nice place. It's clean. They take good care of you. The staff's work attitude is very good. They check on you. They help you with things. We wear a button and when we hit the button, they'll come down and do whatever they have to do. The food is mediocre at best, considering how much we pay to live at these places. They keep the building clean. There's a maintenance guy who works and if you got a problem, you just call and they'll come down and fix it. There are constant programs going on all the time. There are board games and all kinds of things. They take road trips to different places. They always provide something to keep you entertained. I would say we're overpaying for what we get because of the food primarily. Otherwise, it's a very nice place to be and I'm happy to be here.

When I was shopping for a place for my mom, Whitley Place had the larger space we were looking for. We liked the warmth and caring staff at time of visiting. It was clean, inviting, and pleasant smell. My mom has been there a year now and she really likes the staff and adjusted well to the environment. She is not as anxious as she was in her previous place. They truly care about each resident as if it was their own parent. They do a lot of fun activities and learn about the needs of each individual. They cater to each resident as their friend and try to make it special for them.

The staff are caring and attentive to my father. He has lived at this facility for 3 going on 4 years. I am very picky about the care that is given to my father. So the staff have been very accommodating. My father is happy and doing really well for a man that is 99 years old, and is just in assisted living. I can call them at anytime and they are available for any concerns or request..

We moved my mom to Whitley Place in August 2022. She has Parkinson’s and dementia, and I wanted her nearby. I am so fortunate to have found Whitley Place because it is so close to my home and it is my favorite of all the places I toured. When I was touring facilities, I went by unannounced in the middle of the day during summer, and Wanda showed me around. When she took me back to Magnolia Trails (memory care), I was so happy to see that all of the residents looked well cared for. They were clean and had nice clothes on, and the ladies had their hair and makeup done. They were all interacting with staff, and everyone seemed happy to be there. My mom’s previous memory care in San Antonio did not even do this good of a job if they knew we were coming by to visit! The rooms in Magnolia Trails are private, which is a plus. There is plenty of room for all of Mom’s things, and for a few guests to sit in her room and visit. If we have our whole family there, we like to reserve the family dining room to have meals and play games and visit. Magnolia Trails has a wonderful activities director, Lola, who, along with the caretaking team, keeps the residents on the go all day with mind and body-enriching activities. They have exercise, memory activities, Bible time, Gospel music, “glam time”, Bingo (everyone’s favorite!), and lots of other activities to pack their calendar. When I moved my mom in, they told me they wanted my family to treat our visits there like “going to Grandma’s house.” We feel very comfortable and welcome there, and they have toys that my youngest daughter enjoys playing with when she visits with me. The only time my mom is in her room alone and not socializing is when she’s sleeping at night and when she’s resting after lunch. Because I live so close by, I am able to visit most every day. The care staff is top notch. Eliana is the lead caregiver, and she has been at Whitley Place for six years. This is her vocation. She is the loveliest person who truly loves and cares for each of her residents. She has the best staff, and they all work really well together. They feel like an extension of my family. You will never see employees sitting around on their phones. They are always taking care of the residents and keeping them company. They treat them like their own parents or grandparents, and it is so comforting to know that my mom is in such capable and caring hands when I’m not with her. They treat her with the utmost dignity and respect. I highly recommend Whitley Place.

My dad has been at Whitley Place for 2 years. The rooms are spacious and the community is well kept. They have wonderful social activities and events that my dad enjoys. The team treats my dad like family and I don’t worry because I know he is looked after and cared for by a wonderful staff.

The staff is wonderful. They are always very friendly and smiling. Even in phone calls to friends and family, my mother always mentions how nice the people are there. The rooms are nice, and it is nice to have options regarding room sizes. I have never eaten at the facility. Mom does say the food is a little boring, although she has gained some weight since moving there, so it appears she is eating every thing.

My mother says the menu shown doesn't allows align with what is being served but the food seems to be decent. The rooms are fine and the cleaning crew is nice and do an ok job. There seems to be a high staff turnover, so response time can lag sometimes.

I liked Whitley Place, but the bottom line is my husband selected another place. Whitley Place was clean. Everybody was friendly. It had apartments. It also had the memory care if he got to where he needed it. I had a chance to check their dining area. The dining area was good, but it was not quite as nice as the other place. They had apartments, which is what I was looking for. I wanted something that was more apartment-looking than just a bed in a box. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful.

We toured Whitley Place. The rooms were good size, and that's what I like best. However, it just seemed very quiet. There weren't people out. The staff who gave the tour was nice, friendly and helpful. But she was a sub so she had to go back and check on stuff with her supervisor or the other person in charge, and that took about four days for her to get some of the information to us that we needed. The building was good. It was clean, and it smelled good. But the grounds weren't as well kept as some of the other places we'd been.

Whitley Place was nice. Whitley has some of the finest staff, I think. I was looking for a place for my mom where she would have people to talk to and be able to walk around. In the assisted living, nobody was medicated. I even went into the memory care facility, no one seemed to be medicated. Everybody was out having fun, including all the people. They were not in their rooms. They were out mingling around, talking to the staff, talking to each other, and that's kind of what I was looking for, for my mom. But it was a little small and the building was a little bit older, and it wasn't as clean as the other places. It's kind of a negative, but my mom is all about clean.

My husband has been living in Whitley Place for about two weeks now. The people are nice. The room that he moved into had just been vacated, and they had to clean it up. I haven't had time to paint it yet, but at least they've made an effort to get it all cleaned up, enough for him to move in to. He doesn't like the food, and he doesn't eat pork. It's over the Christmas holiday, and they have no programs going for dementia care, and I haven't seen anything yet. We saw the senior care and dementia care and I like it. It actually has individual rooms for each person. They don't make them join with multiple people. That was the main selling point, that he was not to share a room with anyone because he has dementia. The staff has been really good. They just don't have enough because it's the holidays and people are on vacation. They've gone above and beyond trying to help my husband adjust. The maintenance guy went out of his way to try to get that room ready for us. The value for the money was really good. They gave us a VA discount.

We're in the process of moving my father over to Whitley Place. They were just really helpful and they have some really good advice for him with his memory issues. I was impressed by that. I have seen the place but I haven't got him over there. I visited in person. I like the fact that it was small and there were less residents, but more people to help with the ressidents that were there. It's also close to my house and that's what I needed.

Whitley Place was my very favorite place. They were very professional in every area and they were very helpful in offering me information about the VA and different options that can help bring the overall cost down. They have a high interest in care for him and what his life would be like living there. That was different. They weren't just selling me, they were caring for my dad. Their apartments were very clean. It was an older building but it had been adequately remodeled, and it was very lovely. That's where I would have put my dad if it wasn't too far from where I live. It would have been my first choice. The staff members were all wonderful.

Whitley Place was nice and beautiful. Everyone looked happy there. The person who took us on a tour was in charge of the kitchen, and he took some time out of his busy schedule to meet with us and ensure that we're taken around.

I liked that they were playing Christian music at Whitley Place. It was decorated very nicely for the holidays. It's a small facility and clean. I thought the business director was very friendly and informative.
